I got in the grocery shopping, yoga class, picking up a tree from a friend, few dozen other things, and 10 min on the bike, 30 on the treadmill. the weather was lovely yesterday, was 67 degrees!. today it's cooler and is going back to rain for the next several days. we have 5 days off so we're heading across the mts again where it might be better. hard to say. will take the mt bikes and birdwatching gear and hiking boots. this is officially the coldest wettest spring on record... and I'm tired of it.
I spent all morning getting food and supplies ready. I have a scratchy throat, hoping it's just allergies. so will hope to return next wed sometime.
Joan, DH's family had hired a caregiver to help with his father. sort of a choreworker? he could help with the getting up, getting into bed, bathroom trips etc. they needed WAY more backup than you do, but you may want to look see what's available before hand. He was invaluable as conditions deteriorated, and they went downhill quite abruptly. Not inexpensive but way less than a nursing home, and handling someone incapacitated is much less hazard with 2 people. DH's father got to stay in his home until he passed.
Sounds like hotels/motels are a drag for everyone. I didn't used to have so much trouble. Deg, I don't know how you stand doing ti as often as you do. Josie, I was totally surprised at how easily the checkpoints went. the new machines seem to have sped things up significantly.
Lynda, we got our new copy of the Kings speech and will try again tonight.
