Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 2/8

Good morning,
I am home, got in yesterday around 6:45...after one aborted landing in Atlanta...we were almost on the ground when the pilot got a wind shear warning so the nose of the plane pointed straight up, and we were off again. Talk about silence on the plane...we went around for about 10 minutes, then he tried again and made it that time. Did I tell you I hate flying?

Lori, I would be worried and not able to sleep as well....glad that they got some of the snow off at least, and you are able to get a good night's sleep! Have you visited your brother in Tucson? We stayed at the Ventana Canyon resort, it's like at the base of the mountains...didn't really go into Tucson itself, so I don't have any idea what the city is like. I wish we would have taken some time just to ride into the city to see it.

Judy, hope your hip etc feels better....does that piriformis stretch that Cathe does in some of her cool downs help?

Josie, Grandkids Max is a great workout!

Lynda, meetings all day with breaks where you can sit outside in the sun at 78 degrees aren't too bad :)

Hi to Valerie,

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Good Morning,

We have a wind chill of -19 this morning.

Deb, that happened to DH when he was flying back from Colorado in 2006. The pilot couldn't land in Detroit because of wind shear and they had to circle the airport for so long they ended up having to fly to Grand Rapids to refuel. He didn't get home until 2 or 3 in the morning.
I did a little stretching yesterday. It feels better this morning, and my upper body is fine so I can probably do a Cathe yoga or stretching workout today, and some light ab work. No bike or lower body weights today though :(

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did RWH LI 2 with abs 2 (38:16). I guess I really prefer abs 1. I don't like the bicycles on this abs. I don't really feel anything.

Very cold here as well. I guess old man winter has decided to stay for awhile. Next week looks as bad as ever.

Deb, glad to hear you arrived home safely. That must have been scary, and it seems like you have had a series of bad experiences flying lately. I was just afraid that my final flight from Baltimore to Albany would be cancelled due to snow, but they had the runways clear for landing.

Judy, you probably know this, but at Rancho la Puerta, one of the sessions I did was with tennis balls, and the instructor said they were particularly good for the piriformis and ironing out little knots in the muscles. I felt it most on my upper back.

Lori, it sounds like you are in for some more really bad weather. My poor son in Boston has had it--and he likes to ski.

We are going out to dinner tonight in advance of the crowds tomorrow night for Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovely ladies!

Good morning,

It's snowing and 19 degrees here. A lot higher than yesterday. Tomorrow we are supposed to get a high of minus -1. Joy.

Judy, how are the muscles today? Would a massage help?

Lynda, is ABS 1 the one with the weight? I like that one a lot better than the other one. I can't believe how bad Boston has had it this winter. We have closed our Boston office more this year than I think we've closed Buffalo in all years combined. Smart to go out a day early for Valentines Day...did you go to your favorite place?

Hi to Josie, Lori, and Valerie,

Agility class today, unless it gets cancelled, although right now at 19 degrees, there shouldn't be a reason to cancel it. Last night's was cancelled because the trainer has been sick. I was doing the happy dance when I got the e-mail.

Take care, and stay warm!

Good Morning,

It's snowing here too. Looks like we've gotten an inch so far. The temps are going to drop later this afternoon then it will get really ugly, with windchills well below zero. DH and I are going to run some errands this morning and plan on staying home tonight and tomorrow.

I'm going to try to get into the chiropractor this morning and I scheduled a massage for Wednesday. I feel a little better today. Two days of resting and light stretching seemed to help. I will probably try to do an easy spin on the bike tonight or tomorrow and see how that feels.

Deb-stay warm tomorrow! It sounds like you will be having very cold temps too.

Lynda-I have been using a tennis ball and it seems to help. Good idea to go out early for Valentine's day.

Hi to Lori, Valerie & Josie! Happy Valentine's Day!

Good evening ladies!

Today I did Cathe Live Boot Camp. This was her first Live workout and I had never done it until today. I really liked it and will do again.

Started snowing early afternoon. Tomorrow is a blizzard and we are expecting 12 to 18 inches of more snow. It is 8pm and I am about to do snowmax. Ugh.

My DH bought me the 50 Shades of Grey Vermont Teddy Bear for Valentine's Day. I was very surprised as we do not usually celebrate with gifts. Usually it is dinner the weekend after since he always works on VD. It bear is adorable and I love it. I have a few other of the bears and this will look cute with them.

Judy...glad your back is feeling better. I am so fortunate to not have experienced back pain. My DH was throwing his back out a couple times a year but since we bought the inversion table he has been fine.

Deb/Lynda...I prefer Ab 1 over the 2nd. However, when I did the hiit with legs workout I did the premix that had the the abs interspersed through out and I did enjoy it even though it utilized both abs 1 and 2.

Hi to Valerie and Josie!!!
