Pentagenarians & Beyond! W/B 2/22

TGIF!!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to get us started...got a late start today...no time to post...I will be back at lunch time to catch up with yesterdays doings here..

BBL.....

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did 5 miles with Leslie. This is the one with 2 min. of "boosted walking" (jogging) at the end of each mile, so they are 12 min. miles. 63 min. I planned on doing this one on Monday, but grabbed the other 5 miler.

I cannot believe this weather. It is 54 degrees here now, but they are predicting another snowstorm on Sunday into Monday. I just looked out my window at a student wearing bermudas and flip-flops. Boy is he in for a rude awakening. I am hoping I don't have to go to jury duty on Monday. If the storm is bad, I guess I will have the excuse of not driving the 25 miles to the courthouse.

Josie, I wish I could help you on a cream for age spots. I don't have any--yet! Sorry you are not feeling well. Is it flu or a cold? I heard that the flu season was pretty mild this year--not too many cases, but there's always March.

Linny, you said DH built a barn on his earlier house. Was that for his equipment, or did he also keep animals? We have 2 barns--one of them is sort of open air for the cows to have shelter, and the other is full of equipment and stored hay and a workshop. Sounds like you will be enjoying your granddaughter this weekend.

Hi to Joan, who is probably inundated with tax forms.

Hi Ladies,

I feel a bit better today. I still have a nagging caugh, this time it was just a caugh and chest congestion, I did not have a runy nose. The last time I was sick I had the flu and it lasted 2.5 weeks.

Garance, you are a fast walker!

Linny, have fun with you GD, I'm sure you will find some energy to play with her.

Joan, I hope that you are able to take a break from all that paperwork.

Hi Deb!

Have a great weekend?

Josie

Hi everyone,

Just checking in even though no wo again.

60 returns have come in since last time I posted.

Dh and I went out to dinner tonight.

I try to take my mother out once a week. Yesterday we started to go to lunch but car wouldn't start so we didn't get out. I finally got it started and took to repair shop. I have a 1994 Crown Vic that I love with only 90000 miles. Unfortunately, the engine died and the funeral is next week.
I have to decide if it's worth $6500. Maybe I can start walking everywhere.

Joan

SAturday!

Good afternoon,

I got a late start today, then had a pedicure apt and had to go to the library etc. No workout today, official rest day, although yesterday was a rest day too! We are getting the most beautiful sunshine here today..although it is about 20 degrees, it is blue skies and bright! Love it!

Garance, I know today is your rest day too, and you are probably cooking something wonderful for dinner!

Josie, I hope you are feeling better!

Linny, yes I would need your password to see your pics on picturetrail, but you can post them over here from there using the Image URL thing under the picture..

Joan, I don't know about putting $6500 into a 14 year old car even if you love it! Is the body ok? I guess with the engine replaced it will be back to 0.00 on the mileage again! I bet you are counting down the days until April 15th!

I will try to post a pic from picture trail here:..it worked..this is my Dad and his dog...July 4th..

Take care all...

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

Yes, I slept in this morning and then did my weekly housecleaning.

Deb, I love the picture of your dad and his dog, who looks like he is in a state of absolute adoration. What happened to the dog? Did his wife take the dog?

I am going to see the Wrestler this afternoon at a matinee, and then DH and I are going out to dinner, so I am not cooking. I made a cottage pie last night, one of DH's favorite meals. Not sure what's on the menu this week. I have to show up for jury duty Monday morning. What a pain!

Thinking of you Josie, grieving for your friend.

Hope you are enjoying your GD, Linny, and, just think, Joan, if you buy a car, it will be a freakish economic event--especially if you buy an American-made car.

hey fellow penta... whatever. it is really nice to know that there are others my age doing cathe. is it as hard on ya'lls body as it is mine? :) well, not STS, but cathe's cardio is really hard. i did drill max #3 today, and i love it, but my legs are aching. i am 54, ya'l wanna share your ages? :) don't mean to be nosy, just wondering. most of the gals that do the workouts here and at the firm are way younger than us. i'm just thankful i can still workout. hope i can for many years to come.
