Good Morning,

No workout today, still feeling sick and I need to get better before Wednesday, have to travel to DC again, and I don't want to be sick when I do.

Halloween was a bust here. Not many kids at all, kind of strange being that it was a Saturday and they could start out early etc. It was just as well as DH had door duty all by himself.

Garance, I am enjoying the extra hour, although I don;t know if I could sleep any more than I have in the last 2 days.

Joan, LOL about the candy in the freezer slowing you down. We probably had about 50 kids, which is a low number for us.

Hi to Josie and Cathy,

Have a good day!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did STS disk 1 (50 min.), and added 10 min. of abs from Physique 57. I forgot how many pushups there are in meso 1.

I was very happy to get that extra hour of sleep and have it lighter in the morning.

Deb, do you think you have the flu? Maybe it's H1N1, which is supposed to hit older people fairly lightly. I really hope you feel better soon. I wouldn't want to travel if I felt poorly.

Gosh, Joan, I don't think freezing candy would have helped me in the olden days when I had a sweet tooth. My girlfriend and I used to freeze Snickers bars because they were so good that way. I just don't have a sweet tooth anymore. I am more of a salty snack person and have to stay away from Utz potato chips because I cannot stop.

Hi to Josie and Cathy!!

Monday

Good Morning,

I will try to go to work today and see how it goes. I am still not 100%, but bettter than I was on Thursday. Hopefully DH has not caught this. He has been sleeping downstairs so that I can get good sleep and so he doesn;t catch this. Let's hope it worked.

Garance, I am pretty sure it is not the flu, just your average nasty cold. I did have a fever Thursday night, but it broke quickly and have had one since. I think when they say that the H1N1 hits older people they mean really older....not like us! Yes, good ol' Meso 1 and the push ups! How can we forget them? I don't miss the paper plate stuff either. I think it will work good doing the Physique 57 instead of those leg workouts.

Hi to Joan, Cathy and Josie!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Gay Gasper's All-Out Infused Step (64 min.).

Hope you are already past the worst of your cold, Deb. I had a really bad head cold last December and nothing since, so I am crossing my fingers. Of course when I start teaching again in February, I will be vulnerable to the students, who bring in a ton of bugs from all over the U.S.

Tomorrow I will be using my tower for the first time to do those pullups. I am curious to see how this will work---or not! How did it work for you, Deb? My issue with meso 1 is the 30 second rests. Too fast for me sometimes.

Hi Ladies,

I did my usual wo on the weekend. Today I will be going to the bike store to get my road bike. I have to try at leat 5 or 6 diffrent brands to find the best one for my body. It is going to be an expensive trip.

We only had 5 kids come to my house and 3 of them were from our block. I have a ton of candy left over. I'm just going to bring it to work and set it up in the front.

Deb, I hope that you feel better.

Hi Joan, Garance and Cathy.

Josie

i was sick this weekend too, deb. i feel better today. so did a double whammy workout.
.
did the firm's cardio sculpt blaster, lower body of cardio split, and the floor work of B&G. about 70m total. actually, i guess that is a triple whammy. :)

saturday i did standing legs. STILL a killer workout! and i had the grandkids. so, that was a double workout. LOL!

Good evening,

I checked in yesterday and wrote a lot (I can't remember what) but I must have not hit submit reply.

Today was my first day of potty training. Yesterday ds and dil started Elliot. Unfortunately I'm supposed to reward Elliot with a piece of Halloween candy when she uses her potty. She's a fast learner so I owed her 4 pieces of candy. She didn't even eat any fruit today- too full. We went out to eat tonight and dil forgot the diaper bag. We didn't even have a change of clothes. Fortunately, there were no accidents.

No wo yet and I am probably too tired to do anything. I did get both dvd's. I got free shipping and they said it would take 5-7 working days unless I paid. I'm glad I didn't pay extra.

I seem to have eaten 2 lbs of Halloween candy. At least that's what the scale said. Tomorrow I go back on my diet.

Tuesday

Good Morning,

Just got back from voting. What a waste of time. John really believes in it so I go along to make him happy. They are all crooks as far as I am concerned, only out for themselves.

I am still trying to get as much sleep as I can so I can shake this cold. Have to fly tomorrow so I hope it's mostly gone.

Garance, I started a thread in the STS forum asking about using the Tower especially for pull ups etc. I am having a really hard time figuruing out the best place to put the bar. I can't even manage one pull up doing the easiest version. I am starting to regret buying the thing. Yes, it was the frantic pace most of all that made Meso 1 my least favorite. I did get the 30 minute Physique 57 workout on Ebay. I lost the bid, and then got a "second chance" offer in my e-mail so I took it. Now I have to go find a squishy ball at Target.

Josie, how exciting that you will get the bike soon. Is there a formal training plan that you follow?

Cathy, you are pretty good to workout being sick. I have no energy.

Joan, I also snacked on too much candy, we give out toothbrushes but buy candy "just in case"...well guess who ends up eating it?

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did disk 2 for back and triceps (56 min.) and used my tower for the first time for pullups and chinups. I still cannot get myself all the way up and also wonder about this purchase. I am using it for my Physique 57, though, so it's not a complete washout.

Deb, you are wise to just get well before returning to exercise. I have a tendency to soldier on if it's a head cold, but anything that spikes a fever or goes into my chest I just give up exercising until I feel better.

Joan, it sounds like Elliot is really quick to learn on potty training. Of course the candy might be the incentive here. What DVDs are you talking about?

Josie, how much does a fancy bike cost?

Cathy, you are really ambitious on your workouts. They sound like Aquajock's famous mish-moshes.

Hi Ladies,

It is a Kevin wo today. I got my bike and I can't wait to start riding it, but first I have to find a parking lot to practice using the pedal clips.

Deb, the training is similar to a marathon training program. It consists of putting time in the saddle.

Cathy, you are a maniac!

Joan, when I was potty training my DD I just took her to the store and had her pick her own panties and since they were so pretty she did not want to have an accident in them.

Garance, where are you?

Josie

Hi everyone,

Another big potty day.:) No accidents but pullup was wet after 3 1/2 hour nap. As long as she keeps taking a nap I don't even count it. Her mom wanted me to put her on potty every 30 min. I just have her tell me when she has to go.

The dvd's I got were Coffey-Meyer NYC Body sculpting workout and 30-minutes to fitness- body training.

I did NYC tonight( a New You Coming) It is 55 minutes that is full body and abs. I used 5 and 8lb wts. I don't think I used any more calories than Cathe's dvd's but it did seem to get my heartrate up more. Since there is no impact I could do everything and did not have to think of a modification that slows me down. I really like it because if you only get 1 or 2 sessions a week you still get a full body wo. I know Cathe has circuits but this just seemed to move faster. But I haven't done all of Cathe's circuits. With STS I missed abs when I didn't have enough time for another wo.

It does have several 30 minute wo where it breaks down upper and lower body.

Wednesday

Good Morning,

No workout, still feeling a little under the weather and I am flying to DC this morning, back tomorrow night.

Well my cousin lost the race and her position as a County Legislature. I have not spoken with her yet but I bet she is devastated. I can't imagine having your job be based on people voting for you with all the smear tactics whirling around you all the time etc. I wish I wasn't travelling today or I would go over and be with her. she has to be in shock right now.

Garance, are you trying the pull up version that Brenda does? This is supposedly the easiest one, where your legs are not straight out in front of you but bent a little? I still can't figure out how far up the bar is supposed to be. Guess what? I lost the Ebay DVD! I got it on a Second Chance Offer, where apparently the buyer decides they don't want it or something and the seller comes to the next highest bidder and sends a second chance offer, I accepted it, paid for it, then I got an e-mail from the seller saying that the first buyer ended up paying for it too, so she refunded my money!...They should not be able to do this once you pay for it...I e-mailed Ebay and asked if this was right. Anyway, I will have to start bidding again...

Josie, I was LOL picturing you riding around in circles in a parking lot on your new bike!

Joan, those workout sound good. Are you working them in with Physique 57?

Well off to get ready to go to the airport....I will probably be back here Friday am...

Have a good week!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Cardio Fusion, the 48 min. all step premix. The first half was fine, but then Cathe had all the high impact circuits from BM 2 I think--rather like a mini version of IMax. I had to do a lot of modification, so I guess I won't be using this one again. It proved to me that I was totally right to opt out of the Shock Cardio, though. I don't like being put in the position of trying to think up modifications. I want a modifier!!!

Deb, that's a bummer about Physique 57. I guess you will have to try again. The 30 min. workout must be pretty popular. I am with you on politicians generally but Congress especially--they are all crooks who manage to have great pensions, great healthcare, and as often as not line their coffers with money through influence-peddling.

Joan, I like my KCMs, but I don't have the one you described. Maybe I will have to get it. It sounds easy on the knees. Potty-training sounds like it's going well, even without 30 minute intervals.

So, Josie, when does the race begin??

Hi to Cathy!

Hi Ladies,

No wo for me tonight. I'm going to happy hour with some friends that I have not seen for a while.

Garance, the bike ride starts on June 6th trough June 12th form San Francisco to LA.
It will be 545 miles.

Deb, you know that it is going to look silly, but I don't care. I want to be a pro once I hit the road. It's going to look funy, but I'm still going to look fast. I have my riding wardrobe all figured out. My bike is white and red with black accents.

Hi to Joan and Cathy.

Josie

Hi Garance, Josie, Deb and Cathy,

No wo today. I did preview the other dvd and really like it also. I think I like them better than the Physique 57. I may try to do legs 3 times a week.

On the tower I have 4 holes visible so it must be on the 5th one. I am able to do the easiest pull ups. I am 5ft 2in. I don't know if that makes a difference where you put bar.

The time change has me much more tired. I still stay up just as late but am waking up an hour earlier.

Doctors appt today went ok. I couldn't figure out why we were going to a medical oncologist. All he did was review her medicines and tell her to take her Evista every day instead of once in a while.

My brother from Kankakee Il is taking her to Friday's appt. I went today with them because I needed to fill out the paperwork.

Joan

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Physique 57, the 57 min. workout. My legs are fried again.

Deb, like Joan, I have the bar set at the 5th hole and it seems to work pretty well, although I am not always getting up there even on the easiest style. But I am just starting STS again.

Joan, I have the KCM 30 minute workouts for upper and lower body. I thought they were pretty easy, but I liked doing them with an easy cardio like Leslie for another 30 min. or one of KCM's 30 minutes of Kickbox. It sounds like you are getting some support help for your mother--much deserved!

Josie, I will be thinking of you in your red/black outfits racing down the coast of California. Phew! It wears me out just looking at how few days you have.

Hi to Cathy!

Hi Ladies,

It is a Kevin wo today plus 30 minutes of cardio. Tomorrow is my day off and I will be going to another gala event. I decided not to buy anything new because we just sit and listen to the speeches. The entertainment is The Ojay's so that should be good, but there is no dancing :(

Garance, I know that the event will be here before I know it. I need a tougher leg work out. I will add the PLB to my workouts. I was told that there are a lot of hills on the rout.

Hi to Cathy, Deb and Joan.

Josie

hi everyone, been really busy. sorry to be awol.

actually, ya'll the workouts i usually do, even if they are long, are still not as hard as most of cathe's. i mean , really some of hers are NINETY MINUTES. and most are at least 70.

my poor sis is at the ER tonite. she has crohns & colitis. has been terribly sick for a week now. throwing up & diarrhea. she hasn't eaten for a week. they are just horrible diseases. i'm so worried about her. she has an incredible pain tolerance. i woulda been to the hospital the first day.

Hi ladies,

Cathy - so sorry about your sister. I had a client with crohns and know it is terrible. Hope she gets better soon.

No wo today. I had Elliot today until almost 5:00 and then we took everyone out to dinner. Brother is still here.

If I can ever get back to lifting I would like to do Cathe upper body with 30 min of KCM legs twice a week with full 55 min NYC on the third day.

Joan

Finally Friday!

Good Morning,

Well I got back home around7:30 last night. I am so glad to be home. I only wish today was Saturday. The trip was uneventful, which is a good thing.

Garance, Cardio Fusion was one of the first ones from that particular ( no name) series of DVD's that I sold on Ebay first thing. I don't think I even opened or viewed it.

Josie, the bike sounds very cool. maybe doing the dunes, or using the incline on a treadmill will get your legs in shape for those hills.

Joan, I will try to put the bar the 5th hole from the top, you're about the same height as me..I think I may be one inch taller. It's good that your brother is there to give you a break, although still having to go to do paperwork may not really be a break.

Cathy, sending ((HUGS)) for your poor sister, I hope she is doing better.

Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend?
