Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 10/23

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Valerie--

This morning I did Yoga Max (48 min.). Not too hard for me, except for the balance moves. Kind of boring, though.

Josie, if you click on my name, a little menu will come up and you can click on personal message and send me an e-mail. I need your address for the spinning disk. I thought 11 dollars including postage was okay, since if you buy it from Cathe, it's $22.97 plus postage. Did you have any luck in Vegas?

Valerie, it sounds like you had some of the same problems with those disk moves as I did. I did, however, really like Afterburn because I felt like I was getting back to the high impact intensity I had in the past with her IMax workouts on the step. I will just modify the stuff I find impossible.

We did get snow! Ugh--and they are predicting more of it tomorrow afternoon. Max loves it. Tonight I am going to a play ("Eurydice" by a woman playwright telling the Orpheus story from the woman's point of view) and tomorrow I'm going with DH to a livestock auction. Should be interesting.

I haven't done anything today yet exercise-wise. got a little sore from afterburn so will do an upper body one. I previewed the slide & glide one and that has a brief tutorial on using the disks. looks interesting. not easy, but not as intense as afterburn. I'd do S&G first and work on it before going back to afterburn.

that's the thing about yoga.... in a class where there's some interaction, it's fun. and I WILL do it wrong while thinking I'm doing it right. I didn't care for yoga at home compared to a more social atmosphere.

Snow already... bummer. too soon for that!!

Good morning,

Just sitting here with a cup of coffee trying to decide what to do first. I have a list a mile long. Keegan's agility class is at 11:00, so I have time in between to get some stuff done in the house. Spoke with the vet yesterday, and he said to bring him in first thing Monday and they will actually draw a sample ( ouch!), they called that something I don't remember what, and do a culture from that. He was very surprised that the symptoms started so quickly after stopping the meds. To top that off, I have a puppy with diarrhea that went twice in her crate yesterday, ugh. She never has gone in her crate before so I know she is not feeling well. Not sure what is up with her, we switched her to boiled chicken and rice to see if it settles whatever it is down.

Now you heard my woes, what is going on with everyone else?

I hope to start with one of the new workouts tomorrow, maybe tri-sets, not sure.

Well off to get the spelt started in the breadmaker.

I did GS chest/triceps friday. went on a hike today. about 6 miles RT, very steep and snowy toward the last mile or so, a nice hike but the high country has a bit of snow already. very slippery on the way down. took us about 5.5 hours with a long lunch break on top.

Deb, I haven't found any spelt yet. we are getting wood floor refinished tues, wed, thurs so keep mentioning it so I don't forget.

I've done blood draws on dogs, they don't feel a thing. really. just need someone to hold them still but I don't think they are sensitive to pain from it. hope you get some resolution soon.

Good evening,

Eyes were really bad yesterday but seem a lot better today. I have no idea why.

We had the kids Halloween party tonight and Dil was unhappy because there were only 7 kids. I think that was plenty. They ordered pizza and I made a fruit plate, veg plate, chips and dip, brownies and chocolate pudding decorated like a grave yard. Oh yes and the punch. We spent all day cleaning. I wonder why they want to have the party at my house instead of their's?

I'm counting on the new rotation Monday will get me back to exercising.

Don't even talk about snow. I am not ready for that.

Joan
