Good Morning,

Today I did a 33 minute I-Tread, then the Chest part of STS Meso 2 Week 1. Today of 59 minutes 429 calories. It felt good and I hope I can continue. My knee is still giving me little quirks, but it was ok on the treadmill. It hurts the most when getting up from not moving for a while. Then I can hardly put weight on it. We did the interrment of my Dad's cremains yesterday. It was a type of closure since I have been thinking about how we have put this off too long.

It is beautiful here today, bright blue skies and sunny, but still cold. DH and I are going to start pulling up some of the stuff in the yard to get it ready for winter. Not my favorite thing to do.

Garance, not watching SYTYCD...too much for me to watch that and DWTS.

Cathy, how was the show?

Josie, are you working out this weekend?

Joan, all the tax stuff getting done?

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Physique 57, the 57 min. workout. It seems to be getting easier and I can lift my legs higher and go lower on my toes.

Good for you Deb that you managed to get a workout in and it felt good. Sorry about your knee. Maybe you should get an MRI? It's been very grey and cold here for mid-October. I am really happy that I am not coming back from Thailand today. Logan airport is probably experiencing big delays from all the wind and precipitation that comes with Nor'easters (2 in a row). Next week it's supposed to warm up into the 60s again. Indian summer? Please?

Went out last night and had mussels in a lovely spicy Thai curry broth as an appetizer, followed by sesame crusted tuna with pickled ginger and wasabi. Very nummy. And one Manhattan.

I copied your form Josie and will send a check with it tomorrow. It's a wonderful cause.

How are you doing, Joan? We haven't heard about you and your mom lately. When is her next surgery?

Did you have a bit of fun at the horse show, Cathy?

yesterday did the firm's Boot Camp-Maximum Calorie Burn.
and today did cathe's High step circuit, and did circuit 5 & 6 2 times. that is a good workout. and you can make it as hard as you want. i use the 8" the for all the cardio and used my 2# wt. gloves.

the girls had a fun time at the show. unfortunately i got a migraine and had to sit in my truck for 2 hrs. then we came home and i came in and crashed and the girls did the chores.

Good morning!

Today I did a 30 Minute I-tread and shoulders from STS, Meso 2 week one. 50 minutes 337 calories.

We had a beautiful fall day here yesterday. This week is supposed to be warmer.

Garance, Soon you will look like Kelly Ripa! ;) I am hoping my knee just goes back to normal on its own. The only time I think it was possibly strained was doing those low plane lunges in the leg workout from 4DS..you know the ones. I will certainly not do those like that again.

Cathy, too bad about the migraine. There was a woman in the emergency room last Sunday in Virginia with a migraine. I felt terrible for her, she was in a lot of pain, holding ice packs to her face etc. Good job on being creative and making the High Step Circuit more challenging.

Before I forget, I pre-ordered the Cathe 2010 calendar and they give you a 20% off coupon good until the end of December when you do that. In case anyone is holding off buying anything. They also reduced the price of the calendars for next year. I was tempted to buy some more risers to use with the tower, but have not made up my mind yet.

This morning I did Kelly C-M's Cardio Sculpt Fitness (70 min.).

So glad, Deb, that you are back in the exercise groove! The predominant pattern apparently is that people slow down in the fall and winter because of the cold and less sunlight. Turn into bears, I guess. Which is why it behooves us to "fight the dying of the light," I suppose, and exercise even harder. I have never bought one of Cathe's calendars, and I am debating cancelling my pre-order of the STS Cardio. I think I'm just getting cranky and cantankerous in my old age, and I am in agreement with a lot of the disgruntlement over the "modifier" issue.

Hey, Cathy, did you ever find out what was giving you the stomach pain?

Tonight I am off to see the NYC Ballet doing Jerome Robbins' Dances at a Gathering, which is a lovely piece.

I tried to post last night but couldn't get to the forums.

I have been busy with payroll taxes for clients and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.

Yesterday I did disc 10 and stability ball abs. No pikes for me.

Surgery is set for Wednesday morning. Dh is babysitting again.

I know what you mean about shock cardio. I won't cancel but I know I won't be able to do everything. I really can't see that there would be any other Cathe dvd's I would buy in the future unless they were low impact.

Workout done, ( I-Tread and Shoulders from STS), lunches made, sitting down to sip coffee...yumm, my favorite part of the day.

Garance, I am so glad I did not pre-order Shock Cardio. I would be doing what you are right now, comtemplating cancelling the order. I know I would not be able to do most of those workouts. I use Cathe's calendar in my workout area to log what I have done for the day, with the calories burned and my weight. I figure since I will be buying a calendar anyway, why not hers? I never did get into the sticker part of it so I am glad she is not including them this time and she lowered the price.

Joan, sending good luck vibes and prayers your way for your Mom's surgery. Let us know how things go.

Hi Ladies,

I did end up getting sick and could not wo on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I also did not come to work yesterday. I feel much better today and will go to my Kevin wo tonight.
I was supposed to get my road bike on Sunday, but could not get myself off the couch.

Deb, I'm gald that you started to wo again. I agree with Garance regading the change in the weather and less light outside.

Joas, I will pray for your DM. Please keep us posted.

Cathy, I'm sorry about your migraine. I have a SIL that suffers from them and it is awful.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Physique 57 30 min. workout for arms and abs followed by 2 miles with Leslie. I like my current rut with Physique 57--a lot. I have a much flatter tummy and my thighs and butt are so much better. I have lost some inches, I believe, although tape measures have a way of never hitting the same place twice. Maybe I will do an indelible marking and measure the same place every time. (Just kidding.)

Joan, I read your mother's story over at the 50s thread--so inspiring. I hope the surgery goes well for her, and I will be thinking of her tomorrow. I have vowed not to do any more presales of cardio workouts with Cathe again. I want my knees to last as long as possible. I also just have come to prefer Kelly C-M, because she ALWAYS includes a modifier, and I sometimes use those modifications, and sometimes stay with Kelly if the move is not too, too jumpy. Aside: Did you see the videofitness thread? Yikes--it had to be closed because of Lauramax getting all riled up with something said about her that I don't even remember. Sometimes I think Cathe fans are like little pit bulls who get their jaws locked into something and won't let go. Very tiresome. Sorry if I am mischaracterizing a noble canine breed.

The Jerome Robbins Dances at a Gathering last night was so wonderful. It feels a bit like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in choreography (if any of you are old enough to remember that old musical!).

Josie, I think you are fundraising for a wonderful cause. I had a good friend die of AIDS and so young and a brilliant actor. Hope you are feeling much, much better.

Deb, I have calendars from the college, the farm bureau, our insurance agent, and so on ad nauseam. Don't need another one from Cathe. DH recored DWTS for me last night. Any ideas on who is the next to be axed?

Cathy, how are you feeling these days?

I am feeling ebullient today, and I don't know why.

hi ladies, doing well today. thanks for your concern. computer was blitzing yesterday and had grandkids and family all day today. didn't workout today, rode horses and played w/grankids. :) did firm's dangerous curves ahead yesterday. will hit it again tomorrow.

i have an appt. nov 10 w/a gastro dr. don't know how to spell the whole word. :).

I did Body Max 2 premix 6 yesterday. I had a few moments today to check in but of course couldn't get to forum.

Elliot was in a terrible mood today. Wouldn't take a nap until late so I had her until 5:00 because I didn't want to wake her. She still got up in a bad mood. She'll probably be an angel for dh tomorrow.

Surgery is at 9:30 tomorrow so they want us there by 7:30. They didn't want anyone visiting or coming to hospital under 18. I guess they really are worried about flu.

Josie I mailed a check for charity today. I hope you get to feeling better.

I did physique 57 today. Only the legs. Garance can you put heels together to do the squats. That really hurts my knees.

I did see the videofitness thread. While it was quite long it seemed to be just a few people talking to each other. It's funny but the long wait doesn't bother me. I don't believe we would get the low price otherwise. I am disappointed they won't do modifiers but that's easy enough just not to buy anymore. I really don't have any complaints about not knowing how difficult they would be either. Shock cardio should be difficult. My real problem is Chris's response and nonresponse to the questions. I think the complaint about customer service must be about him. I haven't really had any problems getting customer service to help me. I didn't get discount when I signed up for nutrition site but I just emailed them and it was fixed. I also see that the workout mixer or whatever it's called will be available for all the people who bought nutrition last year even if they don't renew.

I am surprised how hard it is to have a discussion that involves any criticism. With over 2000 people on forums at any given time you would assume some of us could have differing opinions.

It was back into the 70's today. Last week was unusually cold.

Good Morning!

Just finished 4DS Kickbox Legs ( w/U and Legs only). I am glad that is done for the week, legs being my least favorite body part to work. It is supposed to be a beautiful autumn day here, warming up and the leaves are getting color.

Garance, I am so tempted to get that 30 minute Physique workout on Ebay just to try it out. Maybe use it instead of weights for legs. What do you think? Yes, there are a few Cathe fans out there that can get pretty riled up on a thread. I guess you wouldn't need another calendar, especially since you get all those extra ones for free! I watched Monday's DWTS last night and will watch the results show tonight, so I don't know who got the ax yet. I hope it's the football player or the snow boarder. This season is strange for me...I don't remember most of their names for some reason. I like Maya...her I remember, because she will be a final contender.

Cathy, having grankids over for a day is considered a workout ;).

Josie, I googled the word too and English is my first language.

Joan, will be thinking about you and your Mom today, let us know how it goes.

This morning I did the Drill Max premix with cardio and upper body (60 min.).

After looking at the HIIT30 pictures yesterday, I decided to cancel my preorder for STS cardio. These are just a lot of impact moves, no choreography, and clearly no modifier, so why buy them? I am also skeptical of the mixed martial arts stuff. I just bet Cathe will be marketing a bag and boxing gloves or some other gear to go with these, and I don't want to get hooked. I think I have read that you can buy them individually later, so if there is a step or kickbox workout that looks good, I might choose to buy them. I also hope to buy that band workout for travel, which looked like something I could do.

Deb, I really like the Physique 57 workout for legs and abs, so yes, I think you should try the 30 minute workout. I am doing it again tomorrow and I really prefer this to trying to lift an enormous barbell over my head or doing endless squats and lunges. I am also seeing great results and intend to substitute this work for the legs stuff in STS. I never did any abs work (a little here and there, but pfft! nothing significant) when I was doing STS, so I also like this as a substitute for legs. I watched the results show last night and liked the MJ tribute, but was surprised at the elimination.

Joan, I hope the surgery went well for your mom. I agree with you on that thread. It just seemed to sound like a broken record. I sometimes become morbidly fascinated with how threads go on and on and on until they get really nasty. Can't stop reading.

Josie, today I feel a bit petulant after deciding to cancel my preorder. How's the training going.

Cathy, how's the Firm girl? Maybe I should get some Firms now that I have canceled the Cathe stuff.
 
OOh--I forgot, Joan, I keep my heels a little bit apart, but I have definitely gotten them closer without pain in my knees over the weeks I have been doing these workouts.
 
Hi Ladies,

I decided not work out at all until tomorrow. I want to be 100% free of a cold. I will be going shopping for my DD and DH. Their birthdays are Saturday and Sunday.

Joan, I hope that everything went well with your DM's surgery.

Deb, it looks like you are back on track with your workouts.

garance, what cathe did you cancel? i just like the firm, i have used it for over 20 yrs. and , yeah, maybe they are not as hard as cathe, but, i can still get a good workout, and they don't cripple me. however, as i posted elsewhere, i think kelsie's 500 calorie workout is close to a cathe. try it, it is a toughie!

so, today i did tight buns & killer legs, (kelsie), and the lower body segment of cardio slpit, and allie's lower body booty bustin' routine. it was about an hour total. good workout. tomorrow is advanced cardio blast, also the firm. and , if it is not hard enough for ya, do it twice!:) think i'll do it once.:)

yeah, i think i have recouped from the grandkids. we had fun. it is now raining!! YAY! we will take all we can get.
 
Hi ladies,

Thanks for all your good thoughts. Mother is fine. Since surgery was quicker this time it wasn't as hard on her. Last time her mouth was sore for weeks, I guess from mask. She did take a pain pill at hospital this time but just tylenol at home. She did go to bed early so I know it wore her out. It's just a shame that just when her scar had healed they had to cut it again, but that was the plan.

I had a bad night's sleep so I could not get up this morning to work out. I am not happy about that at all.

Garance, I think you will be glad you cancelled the order. I bet you would not have wanted to do most of those workouts, at least from what I have read and seen, they were way too high impact. Yep, you would be buying a hanging punching bag, different shoes, new type gloves etc..sheesh, I thought STS strength promoted lots of extra purchases..I am interested in the travel workout too...is it going to be in Mp3 format or MP4? Although most hotels have a DVD player now. I am on a mission to get the 30 minute Physique 57 from Ebay. I was surprised at the DWTS elimination, still think it should have been the football player.

Josie, glad you are on the mend.

Cathy, who is Kelsie, and where do you get those workouts? Can you view them at Collage?

Joan, glad to hear your Mom is doing well. Hopefully this will be the last time she has to go in for this. Now you need to rest too!

Joan, I am so glad the surgery went well. No more surgeries, then? Now it's radiation therapy, right? Did you ever find someone to pick up some of those appointments for you, or are you the much-beleaguered daughter-caretaker they always describe on the Today show?

Yep, Deb, I am very glad that I cancelled my presale order. All I have to do is look at those HIIT30 pictures and cringe. I could never do all that leaping. I agree with you on Michael Ervin--what was all that cape-waving about?!@ I guess he has a fan-base from his football days that an Olympic swimmer just does not have.

Cathy, I cancelled my order for the Shock Cardio--the workouts Cathe is now filming.

Sounds like you have a big birthday weekend coming up, Josie. Are you going to bake a cake?
