Pentagenarians & Beyond: Tuesday!

Good Morning!

Today I did the "B" workout from The New Rules...etc. They are short but effective! I got major DOMS from the one on Sunday. They are supposed to be total body workouts, but are a little skimpy on biceps and triceps..we shall see how it goes.

So what is everyone up to this week? Now that summer is officially over, I am sure all the educators here will be in full swing with classes. I am glad that it is a short week! I have a dog trial to work at this coming weekend and then it is off to Washington for work for 4 days...yuk!

glad you had a "hive free" time at the lake. Good for you for pushing yourself to do a workout....I am so there with you! I like this New Rules book and the workouts are around 25 minutes, so I can't talk myself out of doing them!

Good morning!! This is my workout this morning:

All recovery times are 60 seconds.
All intervals are 45 seconds:

*Running
*Jacks
*Burpees
*Running
*Jacks
*Running
*Jacks
*Burpees
*Running
*Jacks
(end of intervals)

*Plank hold for 45 seconds
*Push-ups - 10 on my toes
*Roman chair leg raises to straight leg: 22
*Dumbbell crunch w/two 5# dumbbells: 3 sets of 12
*Ball crunch: 3 sets of 12
*Seated knee-ups: 3 sets of 12

Followed by Leslie Sansone Walk Strong Express (2 mile) DVD

Hi Deb, Carol, and Linny, and any later posters--

This morning I did Cackle and Shriek (59 min.).

Phew, Carol, I grew tired just reading your workout. Very impressive. You will probably outshine me, Deb, and Linny when STS arrives. We agreed that this was going to be a shared challenge when (if???) it ever arrives. We will have to decide how to measure changes--maybe come up with 5-10 specific things to check on a weekly basis.

Sounds like those weight workouts are perfect for you Deb. What size weights are you using?

It would be frustrating for me, too, Linny, if I went to the Jersey shore and couldn't go in the water. I grew up in Minnesota, and went swimming every day in the summer in one lake or another. All I can do is bob with DH's help in the ocean because I am so nearsighted I cannot find my way back to our umbrella when I get out of the water.

Yep--the students are all here and classes begin for me on Friday, with one brief informational session on Thursday night for my seminar. I suspect Josie is at Howard helping her daughter get settled in for her first year in college.

Deb: Good to hear you got in another workout.I tried to do some yoga today but too many distractions to concentrate.Next week I have to get my mammogram amd then appt with rheumatologist.I have been trying to self diagnosis.Appears that people with chronic hives and autoimmune problems show more incidences of autoimmune thyroid disease.We'll see...
Garance:I heard on we may not get STS till November.Hopefully I'll lose some of this FAT before it comes.I've been doing Dance to be fit with Christy.I love this dvd,thanks so much telling us about it.Good luck with start of classes friday,nice that its one day then you have weekend off.
