Pentagenarians & Beyond: April 12, 2026

This morning I did P30 Pyramid Pump Upper Body. Then went to my parents. I should have checked the forecast because for some reason I decided it would be a good idea to wear a turtleneck and sweater. By the time I went to head home it was 76 out. LOL Oops. Ditched the turtleneck and turned on the air in the car.

I’m still at my daughter’s apartment until Tuesday.

Cathy, nice job with P30 Upper Body. Our weather is very changeable too. Today will be low eighties.

Hello to Judy, Valerie, and Diane Sue. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today I did a mix I made of the LMR 1 & 2 barre workouts, and I am not impressed with my choices. LOL Then I did an AOLIH Mix. It's sunny and warm, but it rained again :( and now the back half of our natural area is floating and I can't walk there.

Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton ride and some lower body PT work. Today I did a 75-minute Peloton ride.

Cathy-Great job with P30 Pyramid Pump Upper Body, the LMR 1 & 2 barre mix and the AOLIH Mix. As much as I’ve complained about the winter weather this year, I wasn’t quite ready for 80 degrees this week. Looks like we might get some bad storms here later today too.

Hi to Carolyn, Valerie & Diane Sue

Today I did LMR2 Balance Fusion. While we had some lightening and thunder last we got minimal rain. It's currently beautiful out. Upper 70's with a breeze and sunny. But, right now every one of MI's 83 counties is under flood alerts and multiple dams are even closer to failure. Sections of roads have been completely washed out, and some of them main roads in their areas. I've been out a couple times to walk and I've been able to add a few more sections of paths. Hopefully that keeps improving and the rain stays away from us.

Judy isn't it just typical that we get no gradual build up to the heat and just go from cold to hot. 4 of the next 5 days could bring rain. Ugh

Today I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 166 calories burned, average heart rate 127, and maximum heart rate 168. I‘m at home for the next few days.

Cathy, great job with LMR 1&2 Barre, AOLIH mix, and LMR Balance Fusion.

Judy, great job with the Peloton rides and lower body PT work.

Hello to Valerie and Diane Sue.

Today I did part of a CDorner Step aerobics 70's and 80's and then switched to her Step Aerobics meets Kickboxing, 45 minutes, 286 calories, heart rate 134/165. I finished with Laurens Mobility posture upper body, 18 minutes, 60 calories. Total time 63 minutes, 346 calories. The first step was just moving too fast adding to the moves and it was not a good day for concentrating on the moves all around the step.

This morning I did LMR Functional Upper Body, timesaver two. That was 42 minutes, 145 calories burned, average heart rate 113, and maximum heart rate 138.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Step Aerobics and Step Boxing meets Kickboxing, and Lauren’s Mobility Posture Upper Body. Switching the step aerobics was a good idea.

Hello to Judy, Cathy, and Valerie.

Today I did JS One Mile of Motivation, 15 minutes, 105 calories burned, average heart rate 134, and maximum heart rate 156. Then I did STS 2 Chair Yoga for 21 minutes. I hope that everyone is okay with all of the storms and flooding.

Have a good day.

Tuesday night we had bad storms that started late. We didn’t go to bed as we were watching weather reports that said tornadoes were likely to develop between 1 am-2 am. The tornado sirens went off around 2 am and we headed for the basement with the cats. Fortunately, the tornadoes were not that close to us and while they caused some damage, no one was injured. The flooding in Michigan is devastating but so far we have not been impacted by it. Most of the serious flooding is quite a bit north of us.

Two EF-1 tornadoes confirmed in Southeast Michigan from overnight storms

We didn’t get to bed until after 3 and I only got 2-3 hours of sleep. Wednesday was a rest day.
Yesterday I did a 45-minute treadmill walk and some PT work and today I did a 45-minute Peloton ride. I might do some strength work later this evening.

Cathy-Great job with LMR2 Balance Fusion. I hope that you did ok in the storms this week and that you aren’t in an area with flooding.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, LMR Functional Upper Body, timesaver two, JS One Mile of Motivation and STS 2 Chair Yoga.

Diane Sue- Great job with CDorner Step Aerobics, Step Boxing meets Kickboxing, and Lauren’s Mobility Posture Upper Body.

Hi to Valerie

Well my absence was courtesy of the storms we had over night Tuesday/Wednesday. I hadn't fall asleep yet and a little before 2 a.m. Wednesday, power went bye bye and finally came back a little after 7:30 last night. So pretty much included 2 full daytimes. No workouts, though I finally did Restorative Yoga this morning before I shopped. Both days I took myself and my toys that needed charging to my brothers mid day and charged everything and used the microwave for hot foot. It was the day before I shop and cold food options were pretty much limited to sandwiches and cereal as we were out of a lot of stuff. As usually we were give at least 1/2 a dozen restoration times before it got fixed. I'm on the township FB page and everyone was just pretty much rolling their eyes with new times, because we have all played this game a lot over the years. Hoping to get back on track with workouts tomorrow. Nick arrives on Sunday.

Judy is right the flooding here, though we are pretty high and dry where we are, the closest water we have is a creek about 1/3 of a mile from us. About 10 years ago, the year I found baby Chester alongside the road because I was detouring. the culvert under our road went out and it was a few weeks before it was open again. The back half of our natural area still has standing water though. Can we say welcome mosquitoes soon. We are going to have some cold nights, but not nearly enough to kill them off, so in another few days they will be appearing. Judy I'm glad the tornadoes didn't come close to you. I'm seeing they have confirmed 8 total tornadoes in Michigan from the storm.
