Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie (who is probably off on vacation)--

This morning I did KCM's Cardio Sculpt Fitness (70 min.). Had a hard time getting up and working out, but knew I would feel guilty later if I languished in bed.

I am in the throes of paper-grading. Always takes me down. Hope everyone else is having a fine weekend. It's up to 42 degrees here and the sun is shining. Is it possible spring has arrived?

Watched District 9 last night (Oscar nominee for best picture). It's very good but did not blow me away like Avatar, or figuratively, like The Hurt Locker. Anybody else watching Oscar tonight? Or, at least the red carpet? I do like seeing all the gowns and deciding if they are gorgeous or too weird.

Anyone look at that thread over at the Open Forum about the star-system? I'm telling you, my mouth just dropped open as I saw that nastiness develop. I should have let it go, but I'm paper-grading and anything to distract and procrastinate. Horribly fascinating drivel when people get worked up over nothing and then someone else takes it upon themselves to keep haranguing those people that they shouldn't get worked up over the nothing and just be oblivious and then they just keep thrusting and parrying with their little verbal darts. Reminds me of Swift's Lilliputians--they are very small, but their viciousness is monstrous.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Hi all,

I am very late getting here, we did a lot of running around today. We made spelt bread in the bread maker and it turned out delicious! It has a nutty flavor, very dense. It is not a sandwich bread, more for using with soups, or stews, or to toast and have with tea or coffee. yum

I did a lower body BFL workout this morning.

Garance, now you made me want to go over and see what all the hullabaloo is all about. I never did understand why Cathe put that star system in place, kind of "high schoolish". I have not seen any of the movies that are nominated, will not be watching the show.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

what is the star system? and, i 'm kinda upset myself. SNM pm'd me and said they deleted my post, cuz we are not allowed to sell dvd's on the forums. that is stinky, so how do i get rid of shock cardio? i really am disappointed in it , and they aren't gonna give me my money back, so why can't i sell it to someone else. pretty annoying.

i did the firm's get chisled today and it is a pretty tough workout. i was surprised. yesterday was a total bust. i was exhausted and did pretty much nothing.
anyway, guess i'll jump over to the open forum and see if i can find out what is going on.

Monday

Good Morning,

I did Cardio Coach #7 this morning, 35 minutes 269 calories. There are 3 challenges and I only do 2 of the 3. Today I did #2, & 3. whew!

Cathy, you should try to sell your DVD's on either Ebay or Amazon. The Star system is where someone can "rate" your post based on a number of stars. If you look at the thread before opening it, you will see a series of stars to the right of the title of the post. Someone gave a 1 star rating to a post that was saying "Happy Birthday" to someone. So it started a huge string of how mean some people are etc etc. I personally don't know why Cathe has them at all, it's pretty dumb. Just a way for someone to get a jab in to someone they don't like.

It's still really cold here, just over 30. Sigh...when will it be spring?

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie (lucky duck in Yellowstone)--

This morning I did Cardio Axe (30 min.) followed by 2 miles with Leslie wearing my 10 lb. vest (30 min.). Love Cardio Axe!

Good for you, Deb, on the challenges! Sounds like a tough workout. I agree with you, just scrap the star system. Lauramax is a target I guess for someone. I personally always enjoy her posts, which are frequently funny. It is spring here--48 degrees.

Cathy, why don't you try selling them at Amazon? I've been doing that lately. I agree with you about eggs. When we bought Maxie, the woman who sold them gave us some of her eggs from laying hens that roam pretty freely under the careful watch of their English shepherd Max (our Maxie's dad), and wow are those eggs delish! Some of them were blue. Really rich yellow yolks and creamy. Now DH is thinking about getting some laying hens because I like an egg for breakfast.

Grr-back to paper-grading.

Hi to Josie and Joan!

garance, the blue eggs are from aracaunas. mine lay green ones. :) so, i have green, brown, and white eggs. it is rather pretty in the carton.

ya , know, i think i'll try amazon. but, i don't have a clue how to sell stuff on amazon or ebay. guess i'll ask my dil to help me, cuz i really want to sell them.thanks for the suggestions, ya'll.

today i did dynamic strength & power. what a great workout. tough!

Tuesday

Good morning,

BFL Upper body workout done, 235 calories, protein shake down, fowl and beasts fed, now for some coffee and relaxing before getting ready for work.

Garance, lucky you with 48 degrees! We hardly made 30 yesterday. :(. I have started taking a hard boiled egg in my lunch for a mid morning snack and it is really good. I wish I could get my hands on some of those fresh ones like you and Cathy have. Yes, the Cardio Coach are pretty tough, the one I did actually has 3 challenges, and is about 65 minutes long. I usually do 2 of the 3 challenges.

Cathy, who is the workout from that you did? ( dynamic strength & power)? Once you are set up on Amazon or Ebay it is pretty easy to sell things. A word of warning about Ebay, do not use pictures off of web sites, eg copying a pic of a Cathe DVD from her site. Many people have gotten banned from Ebay and even fined for using copy righted material. If you DIL can help, take your own pic of the DVD cover and use it for the listing. Also, list the DVD's separately, you will make more money that way, especially if you got the whole series on a pre-sale. Did you open all of them and view them or are they still in the shrink wrap?

Hi to Josie and Joan, and Valerie who is on vacation..:D

Take care,

thanks deb, i'll keep all that in mind. and i think i have opened all but the MMA workouts. is that bad if they are open? so, how much should i ask for them? it's not like i'm trying to make a profit from them, i just want to recoup my money.

DS&P is a tracy long workout. it is from the functional fitness set. there is functional strength, dynamic strength & power (cardio/interval), and a stability ball/core workout. they are very hard. i didn't like it the first couple times i did it, but i really enjoyed it yesterday.

think i'm gonna do allie's cardio sculpt from BSS1 this morning.
ya'll have a nice day, supposed to be 80 here today and tomorrow. which is fine, but i don't want it gettin' any hotter than that, way too early to be summer yet.:)

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did BBL Sculpt (50 min.). I am getting better on the mermaids, but still find them very challenging.

Beautiful today again--going up to 50 and maybe higher.

Big teaching day again--more Plath poems and Samuel Johnson's "Vanity of Human Wishes," a very difficult long poem that my students always have problems with.

Have a great day everyone!

I will be back tomorrow.

Josie

Hump Day!

Good Morning!

Today I did an I-Tread workout, 288 calories burned. I have started using Fitday.com again to log food and workouts and it seems to be going well. We actually got up to 45 degrees yesterday and it was sunny! Isn't it amazing how much better you feel when the sun is shining? I swear we must have the most gloomy winters here, and it affects your mood so much. You can even tell at work, people are walking around smiling and cheerful. :D

Garance, I see you are still able to keep your workout schedule, even going back to teaching. Lucky!! I would like a job where I could go in after working out in the am, not having to do it at 4:00! How is your DS doing? How is Max liking herding the yearlings? Do the mothers mind him running around them? They actually have herding classes where people here go out to farms etc with sheep and teach their dogs to herd, then there are competitions. Max is a natural though.;)

Cathy, WTG on the workout!;). How is the WW going for you? I started using something called The Diet Solution Program, and so far have lost 2 pounds so far this week. I am sure it is water weight right now but it makes me feel good to see the number going down.

Hi to Josie, & Joan, and the lucky girl
Valerie on vacation!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie off on vacation--

This morning I did Petra Kolber's Bootcamp Boogie (64 min.).

Deb, since I am so senior, I am almost always given my preferred teaching hours, and I always choose the afternoons so I can use the mornings to exercise and go over class notes. Yesterday was my younger son's 26th birthday and I gave him a call. He is definitely on the mend. He can drive and starts PT today for mobility and knee-flexion. He has been off the morphine for some time now and just takes ibuprofen when he wakes up in the night a bit achy. The swelling has gone down, too, and now that he's moving around, he won't have to continue the blood-thinning shots to prevent clots. He's back at work, but his one-on-one clients will just have to find someone else to work out with. Maxwell Tigger Smart thinks the yearlings are easy to herd; the bull he just barks at and that gets the bull riled, so he twists his neck and roars a T-Rex blast at Max, who promptly scampers away. The cows tolerate him and are very sweet with him, touching noses. He likes to crawl into the middle of the feeder and touch noses with all of them. The cows are almost ready to start calving, and DH is interested to see how Max reacts. He plans on taking him along to check on a cow in labor even in the middle of the night. When, incidentally, did you get Keegan neutered? The breeder recommended that we wait until Max is 9 mos. old so he has his full growth and no hip problems.

Cathy, I'm still loving those blue eggs from araucana (sp?)layers. MMMMMM! Did you buy the new Tracie Long series? I'm thinking I need some new DVDs again.

Hi to Josie and Joan!

Thursday

Good Morning,

Today I did 35 minutes of High Step Circuit. 248 calories burned.

It is finally getting to be like spring here. We were close to 50 degrees yesterday and will be there again today except it's supposed to rain..

Garance, glad your DS is on the mend. Being young and fit most likely helped him heal faster. Love the stories about Max, he sounds like a real treasure. I believe we got Keegan neutered when he was 6 months old. With your breed, I would listen to the breeder and the vet, larger breeds can have hip problems, if they think waiting gives his body a better chance to develop well. Our breeder advised to wait until he was a year, but we did that with our last male fox terrier and he started marking in the house, and became somewhat aggressive towards other dogs, and even started challenging Kelsey, which was not fun. We wanted to make sure we "nipped" that in the bud before it happened this time. Keegan is so sweet, not an aggressive bone in his body.

Hi to Joan, ( are you buried under returns?), Cathy, Josie, and Valerie.

Take care,

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for not checking in much this week. We have been very busy here at work and I have not worked out at all this week. Yet I lost 2 pounds. Maybe I needed the rest. It seems like we are going to have a nice weekend and will be able to ride by bike this weekend.

I will be back later.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Travel Fit (50 min.).

Two more papers to grade. I am so glad I don't have any over the weekend. DS is talking about coming for a visit, so I will have an opportunity to baby him.

Deb, it was in the 50s here yesterday and the sun was out. Absolutely glorious. Today is overcast, but still pretty warm. MUD! We have to dip Max's paws in water before letting him come in. I'm not looking forward to the rain this weekend, but at least we are not in the area they are saying will get 6-8 inches.

Hi to Josie, Joan, and Cathy!

hi all,

garance, yes, i have the new tracy workout. i love them!!!! and, i think it is aracauna, but max nix. anyway, wish i could get some your beef. :)

deb, i have lost close to 10 #'s on WW. is tht cool or what??? my super skinny jeans even fit now, and i thought iwould never get back in them.

today, i did the firm's 500 calorie. that is a TUFF workout. i personally think it is as hard as some of cathes. kills me everytime. kelsie is the instructor and she is fabulous!

Hi Deb, Garance, Josie, Cathy and Valerie,

I think I am going to just type that I am working and copy it for a daily check in. That way you will at least know I am alive. It seems so boring to check in and say I worked for 14-16 hours and did nothing else. I have been peeking at check in between clients to see how everyone is doing.

I have 302 returns in with 269 returns done.

Garance I'm glad ds is doing so well.

Joan

TGIF!!

Good Morning!

Finished CC # 3 45 minutes, 298 calories. I am really like this eating program I have been doing since Sunday. It's tough, but it works! I have more energy, lost 3 pounds, ( I am sure it's water right now), but I feel awesome! It's pretty strict clean eating, and I am sure I will not follow it 100% but even 80% would have to keep me losing. Of course I have to keep doing some type of exercise. This is the first time in a while that I have worked out 6 days in a row.

Josie, I hope you are able to do the biking this weekend.

Garance, yes it got to 59 here yesterday, sunny. I did not want to go back inside after lunch. So beautiful, people were so up and happy. The sun makes a big difference in your mood, that's for sure. Yep, it's MuddyPaw season. ugh. I would love to see a pic of Max nose to nose with the cows.

Cathy, WTG on the weight loss!

Joan, wow you are really going gang busters on those returns!! Yes, just pop in once in a while and say Hi. How is your Mom doing?

Anyone have any plans for the weekend? I just have Keegan's agility class tomorrow, then we really, really have to start cleaning and organizing the basement and the third floor bathroom for the remodel.

Take care,
