Yikes, I could have sworn I started this, but I must have hit the wrong button.

Things are kind of quiet here at work, thankfully. Yesterday was crazy. A squirrel in a transformer caused a power outage that lasted all morning. The machines were all on emergency power, but we were mostly working in the dark.

Today I'm planning a cardio workout. I'm not sure what yet. Maybe IMAX 2 or 3. Maybe Amy. Time will tell.

Morning!

Just popping in quick before I leave for my kettlebell lesson. This is my second one and I'm looking forward to it.

Robin~ Glad it is quieter at work. Ouch...poor squirrel:confused: Have fun with your cardio workout.

Hi to everyone else. BBL

JJ

Good morning Robin, JJ and all to follow!

I had a good day yesterday overall... I cheated a bit for my morning snack and grabbed a snack size bag of doritos  but that got me through the rest of the day pretty good... Wouldn't call it "clean" but better than the usual for me!

I also forgot I had to get my hair cut last night, so by the time I got home it was after 6pm so I did a Timesaver GS back/shoulders/bi... at least it was something!

anyway, hope all have a great day!

Guten morgen, Peepers! :)

I got up and did LIS step today. You know what's funny? I've got the whole thing down except--and please don't laugh--how to do a figure eight. Why can't I figure that out? It doesn't seem hard...But hey, it's not that hard of a move to sub for so that's what I do.

It is chilly here in the Big D this morning--40's--but will be sunny and 73 later today. Nice!

I found Houdini sleeping on her mattress this morning! Hurrah! Once she masters that I can go to IKEA and get her a little toddler bed. How cute! We also added two new important words to her vocabulary last night: rice (we had balsami rice & orzo last night) and peas. LOL! Can "Whole Foods" be next??????? :)

Robin--Ah, the joys of working in the dark. Did you use a cell phone for light? My office is on a bad power grid and when everyone turns their air on full blast in the summer, we always lose power. So I just sit in the dark, in my cubicle, with my cell phone for light. Not the most productive day for sure!

JJ--Can't wait to hear about the kettlebell lesson today!

JJ, yes, please share any KB tips you get.

Dani, yay for small cheats. Much better than big cheats!

Wendy, LOL about the new vocabulary and high fives on a night on the matress. That just shows how much younger you are than all of us. None of us thought to grab our cells for light. We got out old gooseneck lamps that were in a cupboard in the Blood Bank. I talked to one of the phlebotomists and she said they were taking blood by flashlight. Now, if you needed blood work done and you walked into a dark room, wouldn't you decide to come back on another day?

Hey Peeps!!! How's it going???? I did SSS this morning and some weighted chinups. Or should I say I stared at Tracey while she did SSS? This is the first non-Cathe step I have done and I just couldn't keep up:eek: I had a bit of trouble hearing Tracey too. I will try, try, try again!!! It's a good w/o, but I will muttle through it for a while!!

Robin, I hope your work day goes by quick!!

Wendy, hurray for Houdini!!!!

Dani, there is nothing wrong with doing a TS premix!!!!

JJ, can not wait to hear about your next session!! I have mine tomorrow:cool:

Hope you all have a great day!!

All I gotta say is WOW!! I cannot believe how worked out I felt after my session. Andrea still spent a lot of time working on functional mobility exercises but at the end of the session I got to start on swings. I don't think I could have ever gotten the proper form down without her help since the technique is so specific. Kinda like going down in more of a deadlift then snapping up with the hips and glutes while letting the momentum propel the KB forward. She started me with an 18 pounder and then switched me to a 26 pounder. I was breathing hard after just a few minutes! I found myself starting to do more of a squat so she would stop me to correct my technique. Next, she did negatives so when I came foward with the KB, she pushed it down...OH my! I have one more private session next week and then I get to start taking her classes:D I need to get my own KB and she can order one for me but it would be around $80-$90...is that high? She wasn't impressed with the ones at Target or sporting good stores..something about the proper grips. I don't know:confused:

Anyhoo...thanks to all of you who have been singing the praises of KB's! I don't know why I waited so long.

Dani~ Ya gotta have a treat once in awhile and a snack size bag is perfect for portion control;)

Wendy~ High fives for Houdini. She sounds like she is ready for a big girl bed! I did Bosu Blast yesterday and the one part I struggled with was the darn figure 8's...I kept turning the wrong way or was on the wrong foot.

Catherine~ Weighted chinups:eek: Holy moly. I have all I can handle with just my body;)

Robin~ I vote for Imax 2;)

Have a great evening!

JJ

JJ, sounds like a good session!! I am having a hard time picturing the negatives. Did ya do wall squats again today? Those are humbling:confused: I don't know anything about pricing of KBs. I got mine on sale from perform better. I got a 8kg and 12kg and it was $75ish (that included shipping) They seem to be ok. But I am sure she wants you to have the very best ;)

Catherine~ No wall squats today. The negatives, as she called them, were a basic 2 handed swing but when the KB was out front at a 90 degree angle from my body, she would push downward on the KB and I would have to fight against her force. Not sure if I'm explaining that well enough but they definitely added to the intensity.

I know nothing about buying KB's but she gave me the impression that one should get the "real" thing....whatever that is:confused: She said the prices have gone up due to increases in iron. I'm going to check out perform better and other places on the web to get a better idea on prices.

Have a great session tomorrow and let me know how it goes!

JJ

JJ, I think I get what you are saying on the negatives. Sounds brutal!! I am interesting in hearing what Katie has to say about the Functional Mobility Assessment she did on us last week. She said she'd come up with "homework" for us based on this-yippee!! I think I know where my issues are. I will be interested to see if I am actually right :D

I've read over at VF some folks rave about Ader KBs and those things are $$$:eek::eek: But the people who use them swear by them.

Peeps

Good Evening PEEPS,

You guys are getting me itching for KB's. I could use a little something different and challenging. Keep me updated. What's the difference in KB's?? Aren't they all just different weights???:confused:

Long couple of days around here. Hubby is in Chicago, tons of stuff for the boy's school and Halloween. My guys are little so this is a big time of year. And even though they don't eat much candy (peanut allergy) they love the decorations and crafts and pumpkins etc. :D:D

I did NO workout today and ate like a horse. Does that disqualify me from being a PEEP??? I just am a little tired from being sick and a little behind in other things. Tomorrow, both boys have school so I plan on something, Maybe an IMAX to get me going.

Have a great night
ellie
