PEEPing in on Friday

Morning, peepsters. I’m up early today. I woke up at 3:30 and tossed and turned for about 30 minutes, then threw in the towel, got up and started writing lists. We are having a small birthday party for DGS on Sunday, so I have chores, shopping and baking to do.

Catherine, I’m already on my second cup of coffee! Poor DH. At this rate, there won’t be any left for him when he gets up. Have fun and don’t forget to share about your session today!

JJ, I’m planning a KB workout this afternoon. I’ll try to keep your tips in mind. Wow, I’m only using a 15 pounder and I’m exhausted. A friend bought me my KB. They are pricey!

Wendy, any Houdini tales today? Will she be trick or treating? DH and I will be heading for VT to visit my mom Halloween evening, so DD and DGS will have to man the candy-giving station.

Ellie, nothing can disqualify you from being a Peep! Judy gives good post-horselike-eating advice. Forget about it, drink lots of water and get back to work!

Hi to Vilma, Dani, Heather and any other peeps who stop by.

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Happy Friday! I have been wide awake since 2:00 a.m. I have not slept well this week, and I am looking forward to the weekend so I can rest and hopefully sleep! I am so thankful for the lighter workouts in my collection that have been a blessing after a few restless nights this week. I am planning to meet a friend at the club after work for a water workout. I am too tired to move this morning! Send caffeine!

My heart smiled when I found marshmallow pumpkin Peeps last night, and I thought of y’all and bought some in honor of our check-in. I love my Peeps! I have been craving these all month since Robin started this check-in and thought I would have to wait until Easter for the bunnies. The whole package only has 130 calories and no fat. I am airing them out now so they will get good and stale!

Hugs and waves to Catherine, Dani, Ellie, JJ, Judy, Karin, Kel, Robin, Vilma, Wendy, and any other Peeps who visit today. I am hoping to return later for personals when I am alert and oriented!

Blessings,
Heather B.

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

Peeps

Good Morning Peeps!!!

I'm taking my coffee IV this morning. It must have been ....
"The night of no sleeps for the Peeps!!!:eek:
I too was up at 3am and unable to go back to sleep. Must have been all that disgusting horse food I ate yesterday!!!!
Dani- I put your little bag of Doritos to shame!!

Robin, where are you going?? VT as in Vermont????
Have a great time at DGS party this weekend. How old is he? What are the party plans???

Heather- got to eat the PEEPS stale!!! Only way to do it.

Catherine- good luck at your session. Come back later and give us all the painful details!!!

JJ- did you say 26 pounds?????? I picked up a 10 ponder in Target and thought Gee I hope I am only supposed to hold this thing!!! I could never swing it.

Wendy- SLEEP!!! It's sooooo rare at that age. My 4 year old still wakes up and wants a drink or has to potty. No wonder we are exhausted.

Karin and Vilma, I'm totally spacing out right now from lack of sleep. Please tell about your day. Hope it's GREAT!!!

I WILL be doing a w/o today, just haven't decided yet.
ellie :D:D

Where's the coffee? Oh Robin and Ellie did you drink it all :p Unlike the rest of youse, I actually slept last night. Through the help of my little friend Ambien. Really don't like the stuff. But it's necessary periodically

Robin, I hope Greyor has a wonderful B-day. How is he doing these days?

Ellie, I'll start your IV if you'd like :p

Heather, sorry you not sleeping

I think I will play around a bit with HLMB today. My KB session is at 4:30 and I will report back, but it'll probably be later.

Have a great day

Catherine- hell yeah I drank all the coffee!!! I really needed it.
Please start my IV for Monday am with Cathe!!!:eek: I'm gonna need it
ellie :D

Hi All Party Peeps!

It's Friday so we need to get up and move!

Yeah yeah I'm trying here - someone please pass the coffee IV lol:p

Soon as I'm done here the plan is to do Lauren's On The Edge kbell dvd (is there an easier acronym for this dvd?)

I finally received my 8kg(17.6pounds) kbell so I'll be using it today (going to eventually return my 15 pound GOFit kbell unless someone tells me its beneficial to have it around) plus in the same order I rec'd my copy of AOS Newport that one looks tough and I'll be needing to do a section at a time just to get the moves down

You guys who have RKC trainers nearby are so lucky! I wish there was one closer than 2 1/2 hrs away

Robin goodness up at 3am? Oy!

Heather
How are you? Hoping this weekend fills up your energy meter. Seems many on the forums are just not getting good solid sleep. :( Enjoy those Halloween Peeps :)

Ellie
DH has his 'weekends on Wed- Fri morn so those are the days I eat horribly:confused: I had a Pumkin muffin from Dunkin Donuts yesterday (Just had to have it as in the area where we live we have none of that ) Ended up going out to the capital city and we just had a nice time.

Now today I need to get back to eating decently. I'm going to start counting my WW points again just to curb my eating and hopefully melt off some of this pudge I'm getting.

Catherine Enjoy your training session again. I'm so jealous  of the gals who have a kbell trainer close by enough that they can take lessons from.

Big Hellos to ALL the Peeps that pop on in

Vilma,

17.6 pounds!!! OUCHIES :eek::eek:
I am really hoping to watch some clips and see how people do this. I am definately NOT there yet. All you KBers are getting me sooooo interested. Great now how to tell DH I NEED more videos and KB's?!?!

Bigger problem, how will I not drop it on my feet???
Good Luck

ellie :D:D

What's up Peeps?

Sorry to hear some of you had a rough night of little sleep:( I get that more often now but I've attributed it to peri meno. YUK! I sometimes take a Tylenol PM or Simply Sleep but then I have some really weird dreams:confused:

Robin~ Have fun with DGS and give him a Happy Birthday Hug:D I did some searching on the web for KB and yes...they are pricey.

Heather~ LOL....Stale Peeps!! I hope that is no reference to us;) Sending lots of caffeine. Have fun at your water workout!

Ellie~ I'm here to change your IV;) LOL...Horse-like eating. Who hasn't had days like that. For me it is at least once a week:eek:

Catherine~ Have fun at your KB session. I'll check back later to read your report;) I looked up the Ader KB's and a 12kg/26lb was $54.95 but the shipping was $27:eek:

Vilma~ Where did you order your 8kg KB from? Have fun with LOTEKB;) Yes...I got lucky finding Andrea DuCane so close to home. I'm hoping to get some of the AOS dvd's once I get my form down.

Have a great Friday and get some sleep tonight!!

JJ

JJ I ordered my kettlebells from www.performbetter.com

I ended up getting the first place vinyl coated bells to protect my hardwood floors although I use my puzzlemats too. So far I've not dropped the kbell and I workout barefoot lol. This one feels better grip wise than the 15 pound gofit that I got at target.

Waiting on my 12 kg soon :)

I was looking at getting the Aders as they are considered the cream of the crop in kettlebells but they are not cheap at all! The ones I ordered are also the ones Anthony over at AOS promotes and uses in a few of the videos I've seen.

HTH JJ

Okay I really need to get my butt in gear and get my workout done - boy I'm just dragging today

Thanks Vilma!

Perform Better is another place I checked. That is where Catherine said she got hers. I just wish I could feel the grip before I buy. I have small hands and they get sweaty. Yesterday, I got nervous that the KB was going to slip and go flying into the mirror we were standing in front of:confused: Andrea advised not using gloves since "they can affect the nerve endings in the hands".

I better get moving too before I talk myself out of working out:rolleyes:

Guten Morgen, Peeps!

I will be responsible for putting a fresh pot of coffee on for us. :)

Today it is chilly in the Big D (or as I tell Houdini in a cartoon voice, It's Chilly Willy!) 45 this morning, but will be sunny and 76 today. I had to put Houdini in her little Hanes Sweat Pants (so cute--I just found them at Target and had no idea Hanes made toddler sweats!) and long-sleeved shirt and Baby Gap denim jacket. Hmmm. She looked comfy. Too bad I couldn't wear the adult version of that to work!!

Robin--How fun, to be in Vermont for Halloween! I bet it's just BEAUTIFUL. (All of our trees are green if that tells you how our "autumn" is going.) Houdini is going to be a piece of Candy Corn for Halloween. I found this costume that you pop over the top, stick the arms out through the sides and ta-da! She's a Candy Corn. I'll post pictures of the event for sure.

Heather--I must confess, I've never eaten a stale Peep! Is that way better? Do you just leave them out for a night or two? Do you dunk it in coffee or anything? I'm intrigued...

Catherine & Ellie--I want to thank both of you so much for your advice yesterday on Houdini's eczema. I slathered her up last night and this morning, and I skipped bath last night, too. Hopefully we'll see some improvement in the next week! If not, back to the pediatrician to talk about allergy testing...

Vilma--Good for you for doing WW! That's a good practice to get into before the *holiday* eating season starts...

JJ--I was stunned at the price of kettlebells! Wow! But if it's something you really like, it would probably be worth it to get the best ones. (This is how I justify ALL my shopping!! LOL!)

OK, problem calls already coming in...the flight from DFW-MCI is delayed an hour, which will effect crew call...got to re-book cars...UGH! Gotta GO. Fun Friday has begun!!

:) Wendy

PS--Edited--I forgot my workout! Duh. I woke up late this morning--as Ellie told me to do, sleep when possible, LOL! I'm planning to do 4DS Chest and Back tonight after Houdini goes to bed.

As far as the gloves - she's right!
I wore my weight lifting gloves that I use when doing Cathe's weight work and they really did a number on my palms - My hands hurt the entire day and they felt like pins and needles. It was bad.

I used them once while doing The Kettlebell Way - never again! The gloves made it worse than barehanded.

I don't bother with gloves and heck my dh doesn't seem to mind the little roughness that lotion won't take care of.

The handle is smoother than the GoFit kbell that I have.

I used it today while doing OTE it felt better. Nice really.

I'm thinking Andrea uses the Aders or the bells from Dragon door. Do you have access to feel different kbells?

Wendy - Your baby sounds like she was comfy and those sweats are cute!

I used to dress my youngest in Carter's and don't recall those Hanes for toddlers- I wonder if they even had them back then as my baby is 10 now

As far as WW I made Lifetimer back in 2004, but the past few months I've been struggling - it seems the moment I turned 41 I was eating the same, working out actually more and dealing with pudge . So I'm going back to my old books and journaling to keep it all in check.

Hoping you got the rental cars all in order at work :)

Take Care and stay warm!

Hi Peeps. I'm sorry that a lot of you had problems sleeping last night. I slept well last night, but the night before I didn't fall asleep until after midnight and was wide awake at 4:30 AM.

Yesterday was a busy day. I managed to fit in 30 min of spinning along with my yoga class. I was excited about fitting in some cardio. As I was typing this, I realize that I am not doing many workout DVDs right now. I am kind of into doing my own thing or going to the gym. I totally go in spurts with this stuff. When it's cold in the winter I am sure that I will stay at home and do a ton of workout DVDs.

I am so excited for this weekend. DH is really into road biking and I enjoy it (though am not obsessed with it like my better half). Anyway, there is this bike exposition in Denver this weekend and you can get bike clothing and components quite inexpensively. We go every year and have a great time. My favorite part is finding workout t-shirts for less than $3 each!

I am going to watch the PSU v OSU game tomorrow night and then on Sunday we are having a couple over for dinner. That means I need to clean a bit. I haven't dusted since September with all that has been going on and it's gross .

Whew! Someone called in sick and we were crazy busy here this morning. Now we have a "float" tech helping out and it's crazy slow.

Heather, LOL at your stale peeps. I know quite a few people who like them like that. Candy corn is another relatively good candy.

ellie, yes, VT as in Vermont. But it's not for fun. My mom is in a nursing home there. We are driving up Friday after work (8 hours), visiting with my mom on Saturday, then driving back home Sunday.

Catherine, Greyor is doing alright, thanks for asking. He is very, very delayed, but he is growing and happy, so we go one day at a time.

Vilma, I have a few of the AOS DVDs that someone gifted me with. They are spendy too, aren't they. I'm sure don't know why. I like them, but they aren't any better than anything Cathe puts out. What do you think of Lauren?

JJ, I'm one of those weirdos who can't take Tylenol PM. I tried once and it was as if I'd had a pot of black coffee right before bed. I was wired! I've been wearing gloves with my KB!?!?! Guess I'll try it without gloves this afternoon. I'm just so scared of tossing one through the window.

Wendy, that sounds like an adorable costume!

Karin, have fun shopping. We have an outfitter type store nearby that has a wine and cheese party in Feb that we always try to get to. Sometimes we can find a good buy on cross country ski stuff. I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow night, but with a fair amount of fear!

Peeps

OMG, IMAX 3.
My mother always taught me " If you don't have anything nice to say.......
So I can't tell you how freakin ridiculously hard it was. Or all the really bad words I called Cathe during it. While she was smiling!!! What's up with that? Even my face hurt too much to smile!!!:eek:

Robin- aging, sick parents are soooo hard. I am the sandwich generation. I am 44 have a 7 and 4 year old and aging parents. Well, my father passed away 2 months after my second DS was born, then 4 months later my MIL passed away. My mother is in her 70's and healthy (Thank God) but my FIL is 85 and having some health problems. It's been a tough road. As I'm sure it has been for you. Especially with our special needs kids. Somedays it's just a little overwhelming.

Enjoy seeing your mom, hope she is doing well. I will be thinkong of you.

I hope Greyor enjoys his special day.
