(((Peepin' In Saturday))))

Hey peeps!! Happy Saturday!! It is beautiful here today. I can not believe it's almost mid Oct and it's gonna be 80 degrees!!

I did my first KB w/o this morn. The Lauren Brooks one. I need a bit of work on some of the moves and learned to slow it down a bit till I get used to it. I think I'm gonna like it. Just not sure where it'll fit in.

Hope you all have a great day!!

Catherine, I just ordered the Lauren Brooks DVD last night! I can't wait to get it. Right now I have The Kettlebell Way and I love that one, too.

Sorry for hijacking -- carry on, peepers! :D

AWWW...C'mon Michele and join the Peeps check-in. Like Catherine said, you are already a peep and I miss talking to you since I've been kinda MIA from the CC forum:eek: I gotta get back there!

Hey Catherine~ Thanks for the post about the correct form for squats on youtube. I couldn't believe how low that person held the BB for squats. Way below the shoulders:confused: I usually rest the bar on the back of my shoulders. I'm going to play around with bar position next time and I agree that the bar pad just doesn't work. It seems to roll around too much.

LaDonna~ Sending lots of good vibes for your big run tomorrow. Good luck!

Hi to all who follow: Have a great weekend:D

JJ, it's a good set of videos for squatting tips. I should rewatch myself. Remember puff your chest out and squeeze your shoulders blades together and keep it tight throughout the squat. I used to always use a bar pad for even the lightests squats. Then as I got heavier, I really did notice the tendency for the pad to roll a bit. That worried me. I found these videos and have learned not to use a pad. I have had as much as 150 pounds on my back (for calf raises) without a pad and no problem at all!!

Hi Peeps!

well, I'm off to the thriving metropolis of Norman Oklahoma tomorrow with another co-worker for a weeks training for my job... thunder storms expected for the first three days! oh joy!

As I live in the desert, I'm going shopping today but won't be trying anything on at the store! absolutely HATE those fun-house mirrors! definately will be adding a sweater or two and some long sleeves to my wardrobe for this trip...

I will be packing a few of my Cathe workouts (that require little equipment) and bands so just in case I don't make it to the onsite fitness facility I can still do SOMETHING! Hopefully they won't put me on the 2nd floor... :D

Here's extra cheer for those who are competing in their marathons tomorrow! I am very envious and have much admiration for your abilities! Go Get 'em!!!

Good morning to Catherine, Miss Lee, JJ and all who follow :) Have a fabulous day!

WOW...150lbs on your back:eek: You're amazing!

Did you have a period of time where your upper back would get sore when you first started with heavier loads? I was just wondering if it was bad form/bar placement vs. just needing to build up endurance to hold heavier load? Did that make sense? Did you look at that bar attachment thingy that Laura posted about, the manta ray? I wonder if that would help or if I should just get used to the bar only. Hmmmmm;)

Hello Peeps!

I'm at work today WAHHH :p I dont' want to be here it is so nice out today! Oh well

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Hi to everyone who follows :)

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Good morning! I just returned from a sip and see. I got my baby fix for the day and feasted on pumpkin petit fours. Yummy! I am craving pumpkin this weekend. I ate Kozy Shack pumpkin pudding for a treat last night. It has less fat and calories than pumpkin cheesecake or pie. I have a new game plan for the holidays this year. I decided to start eating pumpkin pudding in moderation now so I do not overdose on pumpkin cheesecake and gain 10 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas like I have done in the past.

I went to the club after work last night and enjoyed a relaxing jog in the pool. The soothing saltwater felt so good, and my feet were happy to have some relief because the water supports my weight. I am hoping to have time for another water workout after my hair appointment this afternoon.

Karin, I am so glad your father is recovering. Please get some rest and enjoy the weekend.

Ellie, I hope you get some rest this weekend and feel better soon.

Catherine, thank you for adding the photo album to your profile. If you see a bunch of visits this month, it is me getting my warm fuzzy fix. LOL!

Wendy, enjoy your fall festival tonight.

Hugs and waves to Catherine, Michele, JJ, Dani, Chrissy, and all the peeps who visit this weekend.

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hola Peepers,

Today is BEAUTIFUL here for Texas/OU weekend. Sunny, nice breeze, mid-upper 80's. I did Core Max with the stability ball this morning--I was really lacking core work--and have already been to Whole Foods, and am now taking a break from chasing down DD! LOL! Hope everyone else is having a lovely Saturday so far!

:) Wendy

Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin! :)

Heather, are you my pumpkin loving soulmate? I love pumpkin petit fours! My mom ususally orders me a box every year from the Swiss Colony (YUM!) I did find the organic pumpkin puree at Whole Foods this morning and bought 3 cans for pumpkin-cranberry bread baking. They also had pureed sweet potatoes and butternut squash in cans, too, which I bought for easy weeknight side dishes. I also heard from a girlfriend in Indiana that Jello has Pumpkin flavored pudding mix, but I have yet to see that down here in Texas...

Just got back from a 20 minute stroller walk with DD. Pushing 30 lbs in a stroller is a pretty tough workout, I'm finding...LOL!

:) Wendy

I love anything pumpkin, mmmmmmmmm!!

MC, sorry you have to work. Hope it goes by fast!!!

Heather, LOL at you getting your fix.

Wendy, I agree pushing 30# in a stroller is a w/o!!

JJ, I did have a period of struggle so to speak. I learned to find the right bar position for me. There is a Squat Rx video that specifically talks about high bar vs low bar positioning, though I can not remember which one. Anyway for a while, I actually had sort of a callous on my mid upper back from the bar and now that's gone. I am not lifting near as heavy as I was either :(

I am super excited!!! I have a functional assessment and 1:1 training session with a certified KB trainer next week!!! She has a video on her site. Check it out if you have a chance:http://www.kettlebellkate.com/

Hi peeps! Gosh, I posted this morning, but don't see it anywhere. I must have clicked on the wrong button.

I did AOS Providence this morning. I'm liking the KB workouts. I'm sort of thinking that maybe I'll put one in my weekly rotation in place of a full body weight routine. Roughly, the rotation would look like this:
Cardio
Upper Body Weights
Cardio
Lower Body Weights
Cardio
KB
Of course, I'm notorius for not completing rotations, so we'll see.

I spent the morning cleaning in preparation for my niece's visit. I also baked a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread and a white chocolate hazelnut pumpkin cheesecake (for all you pumpkin lovers.)

Sorry, but no time for personals. I still have a cake to make for church tomorrow. And maybe some muffins to use up the rest of the pumpkin...

I do want to say Go LaDonna!

Thanks guys. I am up way early. The race is at 7am. I am hoping ummmm nature will do it's thang. So I am having some coffee, making sure the iPod is ready to go and eating a bagel. I also have the camera charging.
Catherine, I am hoping that I get to come to the get together. I just need to make sure that it is not the first basketball game or anything of great importance for anyone in my family.;) I'll let y'all know within the next week or 2 if that's ok.
Have a great day peeps! I'll try to come back later if not I'll talk to everyone Monday!
