Hello peeps. This day started off :confused: with a headache. It's better and I hope it stays away.

I am planning heavy upper body this evening and maybe some cardio. Depends on how long the wts take me.

This morning was CCV5 on the elliptical then I tacked on Lauren Brooks short KB workout.

Catherine~ It really sucks to wake up with a headache.....been there so I can sympathize. Hope it stays away so you can get into your heavy weights later today;)

Where are all the peeps today??

sitting here at work procrastinating! Hmm... seeing a definate pattern here!

I am so excited to get my 3 new DVD's and step/incline risers!!! should all be here by Thursday! WOOHOO!!!

Not sure what is on the WM November Rotation schedule today, but whatever it is I'm sure it will be a toughie!

Catherine: hope coffee helped with the headache! hate it when it hits you right out of the starting blocks! no way to start a day, let alone a monday!

JJ: You are SO brave to do CC AND KB!!! I am still resisting the KB's until STS comes out and see how I do... but glad that people have been doing the workouts and having a good time!

JJ, that little 12 min KB workout really packs some punch doesn't it??

Yes...it does!! I'm so glad I bought it. The 12 min w/o is really helping me refine my technique without getting too fatigued. I haven't tried the longer one yet. BTW, how do you classify your KB workouts? I feel like they are a mix of cardio and strength but not enough strength to take the place of traditional lifting. Do you think it is OK to strength train the day after a KB workout? I'll have to play around with this but maybe once my KB w/o's get more intense, I may have to put a day in between.

Hey Dani~ I resisted kettlebells for a long time but am really enjoying them now. But I hear you....there just isn't enough days in the week to get everything in. Then you add in another kind of w/o and something has to give. I'm waiting on STS as well but not looking forward to doing all the 1 rep max tests. You will have to keep us posted on the job front. I read about your potential opportunity...sounds exciting especially if it helps DH get into a more suitable position too. Good luck!

I agree for me KBs are not replacing my strength w/o. But I am still new at it and only have the one DVD, there may be some that are more geared toward strength. Or the heavier you go,... I did the 12 min yesterday and I am going to do an upper body wt w/o this evening.

Guten Tag, Peeps! :)

First of all, ELLIE I'm so glad DS is okay!! What a scare! Hugs to you, Mom, cause I'm sure you need them!!!

I woke up raring to go at 5AM, then remembered this is my scheduled "off" day (last week I worked out 7 days in a row.) So I fought the urge to workout and did some cleaning instead. Is that kind of sick? It is, isn't it? LOL.

Houdini is better MUCH today. The antibotics for her double ear infection seem to have kicked in, thank goodness! Grandma reports she's eating well and running around her house kicking a soccer ball, so I do think she's feeling better. :)

I am eating something really good for lunch right now. I have a side spinach salad, but the main entree is spaghetti squash with fresh basil, oregano, and Italian parsley topped with a touch of alternative butter spread and fresh asiago cheese. YUM!!! This is going in the lunch rotation for sure right now.

Catherine--I hope the headache went away for you. That's NOT a way to start a day!!

JJ--Good workout this morning!

Dani--Wow, I read your post from Sunday...what a decision you have to make?!! Are you leaning one way or another yet? When do you have to tell your boss your final decision?

Ronee--A Peep = pal, friend, those you hang with. Robin started this thread for her "Peeps" and people who wanted to be a "peep." So that's how we all got here, LOL. Iif you care to become a "peep" feel free to join us!

This Peep is Pooped!!!
We are home. DS is sleeping and other one is in school. DH is in Boston but coming home late tonight.
Thank you everyone for all your support. It really means a lot. And I needed it. :D:D
Today is the first and only Sunny day we have had over the last week, And it felt sooooo good to leave the hospital on such a nice day.

Just a quick explanation: DS takes a med to raise his HR then takes caffeine to help the heart kick it up a notch in case the meds fail etc. Well without the med or coffee his heart rate falls too low and stops. He needs a pacemaker but they really wanted to hold off since he's only 4. Because even though the pacemaker could come out at a later date, the wires ALWAYS remain. So you are talking many many years of wires in your heart muscle, when you get it at 4. Which could give him bigger heart problems as he gets older. His heart is structurally fine, it's the electrical wiring that's out of whack. So even though he does pass out and sometimes the rate is too low to register, the heart will re start itself (99% of the time)

Anyway, I need to close my eyes for a few minutes before DS gets off the bus. Thanks again for all your help. I'll be MIA for today and tonight.

Ellie, I am glad you all are home and hope you get some rest!! I can not imagine having a child with a chronic health problem, but even more so a heart problem. ((hugs)) for you an your family.

I did my upper body tonight. Just the basic stuff: bench press, pullups, lat rows for shoulder, skull crushers for triceps and concentration curls for biceps. I followed that up with all step and a nice stretch-ahhhhhh!!
