Pavigym Flooring?

RE: Flooring Part Three- I tried the flooring!

Kathy-

Thanks for the info. I'll do a search and see what I find out.

So glad to hear its going so well! It will be interesting to note if you see improvements in your strength/cardio ability now that you have less stress on your joints/knees so that you can focus on putting more power into the actual moves.

Thaniks again for your help!

RE: Flooring Part Three- I tried the flooring!

WOOHOOO,
Well, DH has finally installed the fan on the ceiling. (The ceiling was slanted - it's under the roof, so that's why it took so long) I think I can finally do my workout on my pavigym flooring this coming monday.
I will give you a report!
I am sooo excited.

Good deal.. I will be looking forward to the report!!
Have a GREAT workout!

Ilja,
How'd it go with your new flooring?? Can't wait for the report.

Note to all-new discovery: Careful pivoting on the flooring if you are on a seam. I was doing a kickbox tape this weekend, and there is a 360 pivot in one section, and I was on a seam between two of my flooring squares, and it was getting a little mushed. So you might want to just be aware of this, as I will from now on. BUT, I have to say, the flooring totally bounced back. No harm done.
:)

Wow, this flooring is awesome!!
It is hard enough that it kinda feels like a hardwood floor, but soft enough to give some cushioning.

I once put a floorwork mat under a rug to workout. In the beginning it felt really good, but after an hour of hi/lo you would notice that it really is too soft for that. After that hour I had absolutely no energy as if the soft mat absorbed all of it!

But this flooring is sooo much better!I have not pivoted on a seam yet, so I will try to be carefull not to do that. Only thing is, I thought it would be less 'noisy'. Not that it makes too much noise, but at 5.30 am you would want to be as quiet as possible.
This flooring actually makes me want to workout again!
PS I did circuit max to get psyched up for the new cathe's.

Hi Ilja--

Thanks for the report!! It is great to hear that it is motivating you to want to work out!

When you say it is noisy.. is it the sound of your feet hitting the flooring bec. unlike carpet, it won't absorb the noise?

Kathy, is the Great Mats product like that too?

item # E28759 (four - 2 foot sq mats) or # E28758 (twelve 1 foot sq mats). They are all black, no color.
Robin, question for you: How do you do your videos/dvd with no TV?

Also, about the loudness question, I don't notice them being loud, except for when I do step. I think the hollow inside of my step echoes a little bit now when I step on it (of course it is all the more noticeable at 5:30 am).

My big 'justifier' for buying myself any fitness stuff I want is "whatever motivates me to workout". If the colored mats appeal more to you, go for it, if you can ;-) .
I also think about all the Dr.'s bills I'm saving on by working out! Not to mention the money I used to spend indiscriminately on other stupid stuff (...such as cigarettes - stupid AND deadly!).
I could go on and on...

I'm glad I work out!
And, I'm glad you have a TV and VCR! hee he

:D
