Pain under rib cage

I'm just about in my 3rd trimester. This past week, I've started to feel sharp pains underneath my right rib cage. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I can feel my baby move right around my belly button, and there's about six inches between there and where the pain is, so I'm pretty sure he's not kicking me in that spot... yet! I suspect it is just my liver or gallbladder being pushed upon, but I have three weeks until my next OB appointment. In the meantime, I've been applying Icy Hot to the sore spot, which has been providing temporary relief.

Why don't you just call your ob and talk to him/her or the nurse just to be sure? I'm sure everything is fine, but I always err on the side of caution.

I'm suffering from intense ligament pain in my abdomen while I step (ouch)It used to only occur after lifts performed on my back. Pregancy is full of weird little pains.

Hi Maggie,

I did call the OBs' triage nurse, who didn't shed any new light for me. She just said to come in if it gets any worse.

I hope your ligament pain goes away soon!

Oh I hate it when they are so vague like that! I like solid answers (and the medical people don't always have those I have learned in the last few years.)

I hope your pain does not get worse, but gets better
