HI anyone able to help did the first P90X back and chest workout today
Zillions of pushups and pullups can someone tell me why the tower is not used in this video I bought it and am wondering if it was a waste I realize you can do the pullups on it also do you have to bolt the tower down seems kinda movable and 1 more thing how do we work up to pullups what are you all doing cheating with the chair or using the bands I tried both ways I threw the bands ove r the tower and did what I believe Scott was doing bending on the thigh and pulling the bands Is the tower new and do thye just use the bars I know lots of ? thanks but I think Iiwlllike it cose not like Cathe but nice change til the new videos come oh and are P90X chaptered or do you fast forward to move around

The tower is the home version of the bars they are using. Just use it to do all your chin-ups and pull-ups.

I've found that it feels a bit tippy when I do pull-ups sometimes, but I think that's because I'm using too much momentum. I did put some 10# plates on the back legs so that it seems better balanced.

how do we work up to pullups what are you all doing cheating with the chair or using the bands

I am doing assisted pull-ups with one foot on a chair back, trying to use less and less foot assistance each time. You could also work negative pull-ups by using the chair to help get you above the bar (chin above the bar) and lowering as slowly as you can. I also like to use the bands (I have the "men's extreme" bands, which are the heaviest ones they sell). I do 1/2 of the back exercises on the tower, and the other 1/2 with the bands. Since I can't do that many pull-ups even with chair assistance (I only count them if my chin goes above the bar), the bands make me feel more "macha" because I can get in around 24 reps with good ROM.

Is the tower new and do thye just use the bars

are P90X chaptered or do you fast forward to move around
They have EXCELLENT chaptering: a chapter for each new exercise.

I knew you would know all the answers so do you throw the bands over the tower or what? I got the bands 1 step lighter then yours seems hard enough

do you use the toer for Abs at all leg raises straight and with knees bend and I guess triceps too No manual came wiht mine showing diff exercises

I just toss the bands over the tower bar, center them up, and kneel on the floor back a ways and try to pull down in the same line a pull-up would follow.

I tried the ab tower for abs once! Just as a test.

It is odd that the tower (mine too) came with no info on the exercises you can do. I think the handles are too far apart (at least for a woman of my size) to do tricep exercises without throwing the shoulders into a bad alignment.
 
I am going to have my son show me some exercises on the tower I can do 8 straight leg raises in arow very tough gonna keep doing like the way they feel Thanks for all your advice and pointers
