P90X Wednesday Checkin

Morning Ladies!

This morning was Back & Bi's and Ab Ripper X. I really worked on upping my weights and have most of the bicep work to 12# or 15#. The worksheets sure do help with that. It is nice to see the progression - and nice to see the columns filling up with each week. Sure makes you feel good! :)

I FINALLY got some my new Turbo Jam workouts yesterday, So I will do one of those at lunch today!

Happy Humpday to you all! (that sounded funny) I just had a sweatfest w/Kenpox. I was dripping! It's not as fun as KPC or KM, but it definitely hit it for me! I am feeling great with this rotation. Maybe next week I will add more cardio. I am dreading all those pushups in Chest/back, but will show up and bring it. That's what Tony says, right?

Anne - Glad you had a good w/o this am. I hope you enjoy your turbo jam w/outs. Let us know what you think.

Christine - Hope DH is enjoying London. I know what you mean about traveling when the kids are out. I look forward to that too. Mine are 18, 16, 11. BUSY time!

Carole - I appreciate your motivating comments about running! And yes, those sneaky lunges are sneaky.

Kathy H. - Welcome! You started the classic on Sat.? How's it going?

Lorrie - What is it about BBBB that gives you those DOMS? Glad you like Bryan Kest, it is nice to have good yoga!

Krystal - Yes, Cathe should make a Yoga w/out!

Alicia - What do you do where you walk 8 miles at work! I am impressed! And you play soccer! Hope you stay injury free! That is some rough play! You will love KenpoX - at least I did.

AMy - where are you? I am on the same rotation as you, and was looking for your post! I saw your Maui pics... DH & I have been 2x. We stayed at the Grand Wailea (sp?) My fav trips ever! Haleakala, Konolupa Beach (windsurfing), road to Hana, whale watching, luai (sp?)

Julie - hope to see you post soon. How are your x w/outs going?

Hope I did not miss anyone! I am officially 6 days in, and have stretchx tomorrow. Did anyone else sneak a Cathe in on your 7th day? Or do you REALLY recommend rest? Let me know your thoughts please!

Anne that was a great arm w/out you had. I LOVE the new TJ's. Their so much better than CPM 1 & 2. I'm sure you'll love them just as much as I do. I just cannot get into Kenpo X for the life of me. Its just too boring. My favorite kbing instructor is Debbie Burns. I don't know if you've ever tried her but she's great!

Tonight's supposed to be Legs & Back. I never clicked w/this one either. When I did it religiously for the 12 weeks, my toochy (sp?) had gotten soft not a pretty sight. LOL I plan on doing Gym Style legs instead. This is more effective IMO.

When I did the Classic rotation the 1st time, I was eating too much & had gained weight. Arms had gotten too big & didn't like the look. This time around I've really fine tuned my diet & will stick to it 7 days. No wine either.:( I've been upping the #s of my weights on everything from where I ended off the last time I did it. I'll keep improving each & every week. Platemates have become my best friend.LOL Wish me luck!

I agree too that Cathe should make a yoga w/out. I don't get DOMS at all when I do any of the TLTs. I felt it was lacking in the upper body. I usually throw into my circuit rotation 2 of them simply b/c I spent so much money on them it would be a waste not to use them.

I did Shoulders and Arms today, with Ab Ripper X and am quite proud to say that I did ALL of those darned Fifer Scissors for the first time today! *Does happy dance around the room* I'm going for a run at noon - a 3 miler.

Anne - it IS nice to see those columns filling up, isn't it?

Janet - DH has arrived safely, but he does not enjoy these trips as he tends to hang out at the hotel and the Cisco office which is right by the airport. He never gets to see anything!

Kathy - and I love Legs and Back - I guess everyone is different. Glad GS Legs works for you. Variety is wonderful isn't it? I'm being careful with what I eat, but I'm not cutting out wine - I refuse. I only it drink it on the weekends anyway... :)
 
Core synergistics again for me, along with 50 minutes on the elliptical to cardio coach v-5. Felt good. Janet, I only get these DOMS from BBBB and it's in the MEDIAL glutes. I think it's from that diagonal stretch and the glider work. It's different from other leg and glute w/o DOMS, and I love that feeling - but I love DOMS anyway.

Kathy - you're so good to cut out wine. I love my glass in the evening after getting the kids down. Tracie Long said she saw a big difference by cutting back to 4 oz. - maybe I'll try that.

I'm starting a "biggest loser" group at my children's preschool - some very large women who want to drop some pounds. So I have to compile thoughts and stuff - we start next week.

I felt kinda like an interloper about joining your check-in because I was already about half way through the 90 days when this one started.

Workouts are going good! I am on a recovery week and had Kenpo today. My arms felt strong so I used hand weights, but my legs were tight because I did my first run of the year last night. They felt good when I finished. I added "Core Only" from Cathe's Bootcamp, but felt a good burn real quick so probably didn't need to do that today.

I do recommend rest, myself. In all honesty, I didn't trust it at first; I thought I would gain some body fat. But I have actually lost a bit. I was going to do doubles but just can't really find the time, but it has been alright. I think I would not have made the strength gains or added muscle had I done too much extra cardio. I have subbed KPC or Cardio Kicks for Kenpo, and a couple other steps or an Imax for CardioX, but that is about it. I just really like Cathe's stuff and need a fun factor here and there.

If you haven't used the stretch yet, give it a try. I thought it was pretty good, and I felt great the next day.
