P90X Check in Wednesday

Good Morning X'ers! KenpoX this am for me. Yesterday did 3 sets of pullups/chinups at the YMCA (assisted, so "pulled up 65% of my wt). I like using the "real method". Feels more X-like! Tom. is rest day and next wk is rec. wk.

Lorrie - Your Biggest Loser group sounds great! Keep us posted!

Christine - Having a good rec. wk?

Anne - Hope you are running "faster" today!

Amy - What's on your agenda today?

Carole - Have a great run and run "playing" in the yard!

Happy Xing and Eat Clean!

Good morning Janet, and the rest of you P90Xer's

I am kind of getting ahead of the weed game...but the deer came in and attacked some of my roses the other night x(

I am doing the Kicking & Punching Combos from Kickmax, abs , and a 5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Morning Janet & Carole and all other x'ers -

Carole - that is a bummer about your roses. I had that problem where I used to live too. I ended up putting some cayenne pepper on a few flowers and it kept them away - hehe.. :)

Today was Shoulders and Arms. It was the first time in a month for that workout. I really like it - I was able to up my weights on just about all of the exercises too! I will be doing Turbo Jam Fat Blaster at noon today!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

We have used Bloodmeal in the past, but we were just out of it...:(...so yesterday my DH picked some up. Good job upping your weights in S&A!!!!

Good morning all -

Quickly stopping in to say that I did PowerStike 1 today. I was surprised that I could not get my HR above 130. Even with the lunge kicks. I usually burn major calories with this one. I wonder if it's a fluke, or if I'm getting into better condition from my running. I guess time will tell. That's all I have planned. Tomorrow is a run, then yoga at my gym... Figure if I attend a class, I'll HAVE to do the full hour (I've been having problems doing more than 30 minutes of yoga - I get restless and bored).

Can I join you guys? I'm doing a "1/2 P90X" rotation, combining P90X with other workouts.

I'm just on day 3 so far:
Sunday: 1/2 of P90X Chest/Back (I'd already done 2 hours of hand mowing--as in 'old-fashioned mower with no gas or electricity to help--earlier in the day, and that was a workout in itself). This is the workout I dread the most because of all the pull-ups/chin-ups (which I'm working on this summer). Ab Ripper X (seemed shorter than I remember, but I haven't done it for a while).

Monday: Interval Max (In place of Plyo X). I hadn't done it for a while, but did better than I remember...and I'm older, so that's a good thing.

Tuesday: P90X Shoulders and arms followed by the medicine ball section of Mindy's "All About Abs." I LOOOOVE S&A. Probably my favorite upper body workout of all time. It is SOOOO time efficient, and I can lift pretty heavy on it. Good for exercise ADD!

This was the first time I used Mindy's workout, and I liked it. I had to go to knees on some plank work (both hands on ball, lift one leg up or up and out to the side) because my shoulders were fried from S&A. I just really wish Mindy would stop making jokes or innuendos almost everytime she says the word "ball." Alright, already, Mindy, I get it: you have the sense of humor of a 10-year-old boy. Enough of the "ball" jokes. (Aside from that, she is less jokey than in some previous workouts.)

Kathryn - welcome! Glad to see you here and I look forward to your sage advice!!

I'm a big fan of S&A, too. I really enjoy it. Sounds like you got in quite the workout!

Hi Kathryn -

Great to see you here!!! I also combined Turbo Jam Fat Blaster with mowing right afterwards. Figured I would keep up the heart rate a bit longer. Although mine is gas powered - so doesnt sound like it was half as hard as yours was.

I was really glad to get to S&A today after the last 30 days of not doing it at all. I really like the workout and am looking forward to some DOMS from upping all my weights!

Have a great day!

Hi all. I got to do my new favorite workout today - back and biceps. I love this one! Ab ripper X of course, and a 4-mile incline walk.

Janet - great job on those pullups!!! I can do chin ups, but on pull ups I resort to the bands. Need more lat strength.

Carole I'm so sorry about your roses. I have double black tulips and as soon as they offer a glimse of showing, the deer lop them right off!!

Christine are you enjoying your recovery week? Does it feel odd?

Anne I know what you mean about the return to some of those workouts from a previous phase. There's almost a comfort level in going back to them.

Welcome to our little check-in Kathryn!

I think when I'm done with the whole P90X rotation I'll do a week of Cathe circuit work and then do a repeat of Tony. Maybe by then we'll be expecting Cathe's new releases!:) I still need to pick up the ETL book that some of you have spoken about. I want to lose these last pounds and I believe that FOR ME, as an experienced exerciser, weight loss is all about the food.

Enjoy your day ladies.

Lorrie

Congrats on all the great w/outs today! And welcome Kathryn! We love to have you join our check in!

Carole - Sounds like a Kicking day for you!

Anne - I will miss Shoulders/arms next month. It is like an "old friend"! Hope you got in TJF Blast!

Christine - Don't know Powerstrike, but sounds like fun. You must be getting really conditioned, or your HR mon. is "kapoot". I know what you mean about the yoga.... a class will be just what you need! I also get bored easily, and believe that is why I love P90x - there is so much variety!

Kathryn - Welcome! Sounds like a fun rotation, 1/2 P90x and other fav. I second shoulders/arms! Don't own any Mindy w/outs, but can only imagine a "mute button" for the ball jokes!

Lorrie - Glad to know Back/Biceps is your fav. I will look forward to that one! You are right about the diet... you are what you eat! I am also trying to lose those last 10 pounds, and my plan is to up my cardio by 20 - 30 min. a day (adding a 2nd session) Good luck!

Happy P90xing and Eat Clean!
