Overload injury from Push Pull Lower x3

Does anyone else do this workout at the maximum weight? I usually do heavier weights for Push Pull because the reps are somewhat lower, but I think last week may have been the first time I did the three-set mix, and I hurt my hip and have had to take it easy ever since. I think I will stick with one or two sets from now on, or else use the pyramid-down concept if I do three sets again. Yow! Talk about fried legs (and hip).
