This annoys me so much!!!! Some gyms are so money orintated that safety comes second - if that. Ive walked out of a Body Attack class once because no one could exacute the exercises with the amount of people attending, not forgetting the body heat created. Its okey for the instructor, they have their own space to work. Is there no safety in number regulations with Gyms? maybe not in NSW. Apparently someone punched the back of some eles head in a Body Class once, because the class was packed. They went to compain and ask for their membership money back (Im thinking this was proberly the straw that broke the camels back for this person) Anyway, the staff apologised (sincerly I dont know) and gave him his money back. That I would think had more to do with the fact that once he left, two more memberships walked through the door. It does make you want to work out at home all the time, or at least find a nice quiet friendly gym not franchised to death, where sales is all they want.

Where I taught in NSW, we had regulation of class sizes. And people had to book to come to our launches! I think it really depends on the gym you are at. I loved my NSW gym to bits.

Yes your right - most Gyms require you to take a token from reception and then hand that to the instructor as you enter class, but I still think with some gyms more tokens are handed out than there is body space available. Im also perplexed about pillers and support beams in the middle of a aerobic floor. Not to bad for step work but any class that really requires you to to move in all directions, requires some quick thinking. Can I also say that I also think 90% of the NSW gyms are fantastic and the quolity of the instructors superb - Aussie instructors are viwed very highly overseas which doesnt surprise me:)
