Out of Commission!

I had posted a while ago that I hadn't worked out in two weeks and was worried about getting back into it. Well, after that, I had so much trouble getting through a workout. I was out of breath and gasping for air. I couldn't even get up a flight of steps without huffing and puffing. I wondered if I could have lost that much aerobic capacity so quickly. I mean, I was doing the Imaxes just a few weeks ago. Then I started having pains in my chest and back. I couldn't take a really deep breath. I went to the doctor yesterday morning, and I have bronchial pneumonia and pleurisy. I feel so horrible. I can't do the stairs in my house without a rest. I'm so bummed. Getting back to working out seems years away, and I'm just lying here trying to breathe. I'm so discouraged.

(((hugs to you)))
I am sorry to hear about your illness. Did your doctor give you a time frame for getting back to activity? Try not to be be discouraged. This should be a temporary set back and nothing more. Perhaps you could get into a really good book or devise a get back into shape rotation ?

Think positive thoughts girl!

Hi, Lynda-

I'm so sorry you're not well. Pneumonia is NOT FUN. It's a wonder you could get through a workout AT ALL!! At least you know the difficulty you had was not due to a loss of aerobic capacity from inactivity but from something more serious. Honestly, don't worry about it, just take care of yourself for now. Get plenty of rest and liquids. When you feel better, start back slowly for awhile and ease back into your routine carefully. While you're certainly not starting from ground zero again, you don't want to jump back in and risk injury.

I was out of commission the last 2 weeks for various health reasons and just started back on Sunday. Starting back up again is not as bad as I thought it was going to be and I know it's going to get easier and easier pretty quickly.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!! {{{BIG HUGS!!!}}}

I am so sorry! I reallly feel for you! I hope that you get better quickly! I would take this as an opportunity to read until you are sick of books and catch up on all the movies you missed this year, only the good ones that is. Relax and let your body heal, and make sure you do things that make you laugh! that always helps me!

Get better!
Missy

OH that is too bad! I hope you feel better soon! I agree with Missy. Rest and try to relax. Enjoy your time off and worry about the workouts when you feel better. I know you can't really enjoy being sick but I mean try to do what you enjoy within your limits for now. Stressing will just make you worse.

Hi! The doctor's office just called to say that they want to schedule me for a CAT scan of the chest. I'm starting to really worry now. I'm waiting for the doctor to call me back to find out what it is they're looking for. The office staff doesn't know, but told me that my diagnosis is "adenopathy." Looking around on the internet, and I'm getting more and more worried. Decided to stop torturing myself and come back here for a while. Thanks for all the kind thoughts. Keep me in your prayers.

Hi Lynda,
I usually just lurk here, but read your post and was wondering how you were doing. If you get a chance let us know.
