Hi Fitnation,
While we used to go live at 9:15 AM, we moved it to 9:30 AM to give ourselves a little extra buffer to prep and troubleshoot—but it didn't help much, as many of you know, unexpected issues can still pop up, no matter what time we start. Doing a live event in a gym with a large group of people is not easy to do.
To help ensure the best experience, we test everything the day before each broadcast. Even so, there are occasional hiccups that we may not see on our end. For example, some of you experienced issues last Thursday that didn’t show up during our tests or the live session that we viewed here. Sometimes, these problems only affect certain users, and other times they can be related to internet service, our streaming partners, hardware failures, or even unexpected things like storms or power outages.
We typically begin Cathe Live within a few minutes of 9:30 AM. That said, we’ve always noted that the broadcast can start anytime between 9:30 and 9:45 AM, just to allow for any last-minute tech checks and to make sure the class participants are ready. The good news? The replay is usually available just a few hours later and ready for you to enjoy anytime that fits your schedule!
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We always do our best to start as close to on time as is possible, but there will always be issues and glitches at some point.
Lastly, we actually went live at 9:34 am last Thursday. At about 15 minutes into the broadcast, we had a one-minute glitch. It seems you were able to access Cathe Live after the stream started again. This probably means one of our streaming partners we use probably had an issue, and once they fixed the issue you were able to access the broadcast. We still don't know what caused the glitch, but we assume it was something with the streaming companies we use to send the stream to you. But who knows?
