Ouch! This hurts!

Okay ladies, this sounds crazy! I was attempting to do 100 situps. These I haven't done in a long time,when I felt my tail bone hurt. I even put a blanket to cushion and it still hurt! Put it this way, I rubbed off the skin. Boy this hurts! I stopped at 92.


Does anyone have any suggestions how to cushion the butt while doing these?

I thought it was determined that crunches are much better than traditional sit ups. Hopefully you didn't go through the pain for nothing :)
 
Hey candi,

I had heard that before too, but cathe had them in her aug. rotation. I thought I would try them again. But he!! I think I will go back to crunches. Actually, I didn't feel the burn in my abs like I do with crunches. Well lets say I feel the burn but not in the right place!

Get some kind of mat. Towels and blanket sometimes just don't have enough cushioning to help.

I have a wonderful mat that fits on my step (I can't just lie on my step the way Cathe and crew do, because I feel it on my back) and has cut-outs for where your arms are when you do flyes. It's big enough to do sit-ups on as well. I got it from www.karenvoight.com years ago. It may be available at www.fwonline.com as well.

Another option would be to do them while lying on a rebounder, if you have one. That also adds a bit of stability challenge to the exercise.
