other stuff

It seems like I'm constantly reading about other workouts that you guys have trued and love and I know it's good to change things up and have variety, but I have a hard time deviating from Cathe, if even for a day. I feel like I have enough variety there with all of the premixes and different workouts. HOWEVER, I also feel the need to try some of the stuff you all talk about. I really like kickboxing and was wondering what another good kickboxing workout is. Also, is kickboxing bad for the lower back? I've read several threads indicating that step may not be good if you have low back issues, though I love step. Another ? is how many times per week should you do step? If you're doing 2 cardio days and 1 circuit, would it be okay to have just 1 of those days be a non-step workout?

Some I like:
Kimberley Spreen (almost any of them)
Sherri Jacquelyn (Criss-Cross Cardio and---and oldie-but-goodie, only on VHS--Fit to Kick)
Powerstrike
Amy Bento Kickbox Extreme (with a lot of modifications to make it flow with good kickbox for--ie: she does hooks off the back arm, which is not authentic)

It can be if you try to kick higher than your current level of flexibility allows, and it's easy to get caught up in the energy and kick to high if you're not careful

It depends, I think anywhere from 1-4 non-consecutive days a week is best. Most people probably do best on 2-3 non-consecutive days a week, others can't tolerate more than 1 a week, and others can tolerate more. Cathe now seems to be recommending 3-4 per week maximum in her posts on the subject.
