I am a coffee addict and drink about 2-3 cups per day. The problem is that I am addicted to the French Vanilla creamer by International Delight. I NEED to have it sweetened and creamed, but am looking for healthier options. What do you coffee drinkers put in yours??

Aila:)

Hi Aila,

I usually use a fat-free half & half, mostly because I do drink a lot of coffee. It's not bad.

I drink my coffee black but a few friends of mine use a packet of Splenda or a teaspoon of Diet Swiss Miss cocoa...the entire package is only 20 cals so one packet lasts for a few cups of coffee.

RE: OT/ What do you coffee drinkers put in your coffee?...

Hi Aila: Aaahhhh the morning coffee; one of life's small delights and just the kick in the pants I need to get my day going:). I am grateful to my Dad who was a coffee connoisseur, when I started to drink coffee I put milk in it and he looked at me, shook his head and said "why would anybody put milk in perfectly good coffee!?". I started drinking it black with a bit of sugar and never looked back. I'm sure drinking it black has saved me a few pounds of body fat over the years. I always use raw or demerrara sugar in my coffee to get a darker taste. I know that a lot of people don't like coffee black but to me coffee with any milk or cream tastes like a dessert, it's okay but it's not what I'm looking for in a good cup of Java. That's what works for me. Good Luck:)

Laurie...I think we had the same Dad!! I drink mine black and usually strong unless I am lucky enough to get to a Starbucks on occasion then its a Carmel Macchiato....:)...Carole

Vanilla soy milk! Up here in Seattle drinking coffee is NOT an option and when I need a low-fat, sweet and healthy pick-me-up, I just reach for my trusty soy. The vanilla gives it a subtle flavor and I feel no guilt about adding a lot because it's good for me!

I'm inching towards the 'dark side' slowly but surely. :) I used to drink only foamy latte's and coffee with lots of sugar and cream, but just in the past month or so I've started taking my coffee with only sugar-free syrup in it and actually am starting to like it better than the cream and everything else added. Still love the latte's though - I agree they're like dessert.

1/2 & 1/2 Baby!! I did try fat free 1/2 & 1/2 but I just didn't like it. I know this isn't a healthier option. Have you tried "techino" It tastes similar to coffee w/o the caffeine. I don't know if you are interested in something like this.

Internation Delight French Vanilla here too. I love that stuff so much. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day. I put a packet of sugar twin in each cup and a tablespoon of the french vanilla. It is just so good. That is the only thing I could never give up, my morning french vanilla coffee.

Decaff, double latte with 2% milk if I buy it out: decaff expresso with lots of full fat milk if I make it at home.

Coffee is serious business. I don't mess with it (although decaff is a reqquirement). Hate creamers and flavours.

Pretty much how I can get it. USUALLY, with creamer and 1 teaspoon of sugar (trying to do away with sweetner altogether). Sometimes, black and sometimes with just sugar. I guess it depends on my mood.

Never drank a latte. If I want something sweet like that I go for a yougart milkshake.

ahhh...I used to put real whipping cream in a very strong cup of coffee SO GOOD. I'd make the coffee in my espresso machine, using two shots of espresso with twice the water (i guess that is an americano) then I'd heat the whipping cream and pour in the coffee. Heaven. Then I had my cholesterol checked and threw out all my dairy. Now I drink it black or with soy creamer but BOY those were the days :9

Carole, you're killing me.....a Low Fat Carmel Macchiato is my favourite non black coffee treat (okay, maybe a Irish Coffee after a good meal but that's a different day!). When I returned to school for massage four years ago my house became 'study central' and my coffee known affectionately as 'jet fuel', let me tell you, it carried us nicely through some seemingly eternal study sessions. One of my biggest pet peeves (besides massage with too little pressure) is coffee that seems more like water with a brown crayon dipped into it. I guess I'm just a 'go big or go home' kind of Girl!!:)

I don't like black coffee, so to keep it light & tasty I add a little sugarfree hot cocoa, along with skim milk, and a little splenda. I just have to have that slightly sweet taste....need to work on the sweets alltogether:eek:

Hi; been a coffee drinker since the wee age of 1 yrs old ...I'm 37 now . My family is Puerto Rican straight from the island and coffee was like mother's milk to me & everyone else there LOL.
Anyways, I drink my spanish coffee with a fat free diary creamer and splenda. It's still rich and flavorful and since I'm on WW 0 points for me
:)
