Annnnnnnnnnd if your really really into DH, there are countless forums dedicated just to that show in more than 15 different languages!......plus teashirts (saying "Im a Desperate Housewife"), mugs,screensavers..............and a "clothing line" coming soon.
Did SITC get this much attention?
 
I really like Desperate Houswives, but it's definitely no SITC. I own every season of SITC and stiil watch them here and there. It was one of my favorite shows & wish it was still on.

I liked SITC better for a couple of reasons. As a single woman in my late 30s, I really loved how they made it OK for women to be independent & happy w/o a husband & children. Also it was HBO, so it was more fun to watch b/c they could be more risque. AND I loved the clothes.

DH is quality TV & highly entertaining, but it'll never replace SITC for me.
 
I never had HBO during Sex and the City...I watch it faithfully every Tuesday night on TBS. I love it almost as much as I love Friends...DH is something I watch if I happen to remember that it's on and there is nothing better on. It's good, but not great.
 
I don't think SITC got that much attention but I don't know if it was shown all over the world either. Plus SITC had its nudity in it and people didn't care for that. I like both shows. They both have similarities but then are miles different from each other.

I think the most striking similarity is the fact that each of the four main characters in both shows have characteristics that every woman can identify with to some degree. IMO it's what makes both shows as successful as they've been. Not that they wouldn't have survived w/o that, but I think it's what's made them such huge hits.
 
SATC was one of the best shows ever made, and I doubt there will ever be another like it. Has anyone caught the L-Word? It's pretty good, too.
 
I'm a DH fan because my DH :D loves to sit and watch it with me. We just adore Teri Hatcher. I guess we do a lot of laughing because we know people who are like the ones (somewhat) on the show. It is the only show right now that we, as a couple, take the time to sit down and watch together. We record it and watch when the girls are in bed though, now for a 12 and 4 year old :p

I did watch SITC, and really like it, but I tend to end up laughing alot during DH. Wish they actually had new shows every week. x(
