Original Step on Ebay

Hi Everyone!
I have been trying to buy an extra Original Step on Ebay to hack up according to Erin's directions for the mini-topper, but I keep getting outbid at $30. I read somewhere on this forum that one of us won the Original Step on Ebay for $5. Is there a secret to winning the auction, or do you just have to get lucky that nobody out-bids you? Does anyone know of other internet auctions that sell Original Steps?
Thanks!

Hi cruncholi !

I can understand you frustration. I tried and tried myself. Finally, I was contacted by a seller b/c the winning bidder backed out after she was told the shipping/handling was going to be nearly $40

, which brought the total price to $65!!!!

Needless to say I had to decline. I decided I was just not going to be able to get much of a deal on Ebay, then went ahead and bought one at full price from Academy Sports.

If anyone has any bidding tricks, I would love to hear them as well.

Hi, I bought a step from Ebay to make my topper with. I paid $20.00 for the step plus $10.00 shipping. I also bought 2 risers for $4.00 a piece. I cannot remember shipping, but it was very reasonable. I always email the seller before I bid to get a shipping price. The way I have always won anything on Ebay is to wait until about 2 minutes or less for the auction to end and then I bid. It depends on the other bidder's highest bid if you win or not. I always put the most I am willing to pay and so far I think I've always gotten what I wanted except for one time. The most important thing is the shipping. Be sure to check it out. UPS ground seems to be the cheapest for big items, I think.

Thanks for your advice Kelley! I will try that next time. I was bidding whenever I found a Step a few days before the auction ended--I guess that's too much time for other Step-carnivores to come in and over-bid me!
Thanks again!
