Opinions about Christi Taylor

What do you all think of her? I've been looking at some of her workouts over on Collage, and it looks like her workouts are fun (specifically I am looking at the Fantastic Four and Solid Gold Step), but I am a little concerned with the comments about the complexity of the choreography.

How does her choreography compare to Cathe? Say a step workout like Step Blast or PowerMax....

Opinions appreciated!!

Thanks,
Marie

Marie, I don't think Christi's choreography is much harder than Cathes. I love Totally Cool Step-the music makes this workout so much fun. It's Motown and some more current recognizable stuff. I like her attitude-she's chatty. I hate it when instructors barely talk to "you"-one reason I love Cathe, too. I think if you can handle Cathe, you can handle Christi.

I have just about all of Christi's stuff and love to go to her for fun, dancy cardio with complex choreography. I will sub her tapes for Cathe cardio when I need a change.
Cathe's cardio is higher intensity, but Christi has great music and her moves flow so well. If you get Cathe's complexity you will get Christi.
I would recommend her Fantastic Four DVD, great value and you get 4 hall-of-fame workouts.
Another thought, perhaps you would like to go to her website and email her with your questions. She always answers very promptly and is more than willing to help anyone with concerns. I know she would have the best recommendations for you!

I have a couple of her dvd's, one of them is Fantastic Four, but I've never gotten the hang of her for some reason. She's a great instructor and I can see that her choreography is just as wonderful as Cathe's, but when I try to follow her, I lose interest. I don't know why. So I've been keeping her dvd's, just waiting for that time when I feel like taking them out and trying them again. I guess I'm not much help...

I have a couple of her videos and I like them. Not quite as well as Cathe, but I agree with what everyone else had to say....

Now I have fantastic four and totally hot cardio.I have ordered the humble beginnings dvd and solid gold cardio and I have preordered mission possible. I love her hi/low specially hi/low heaven. I would like to be able to get her step style but I am a two left feet.I have learnt the stage 1 and 3 of step heaven but the stage 2 is so difficult. The music in still steping just for fun is marvellous.Christi is very friendly too.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator and TAEBO junkie. :) :)

I also have fantastic four and totally hot cardio. I think that if you want to try Christi that the fantastic four is a great deal! You may want to check out her website because I believe some of her workouts are on sale. I really like her hi-lo. I use it more than her step workouts because I am on a "hi-lo kick" lately! It did take me a while but I stuck with it and I have a lot of fun! Her music is fun, she has a very friendly personality. I also noticed that once I got down fantastic four that totally hot cardio was easier for me because I was used to her style/cuing. Can't say enough! I am a fan!
Cath :)
p.s. If you have a DVD player then the slow motion feature is a good way to get steps down ...

I used to do Christi Taylor's workouts quite often. But when doing the last ones I got (Totally Hot Cardio and Totally Cool Step), my heartrate did not go up as high as I would have liked. I have the Fantastic Four and I like it quite a bit. I also have Hi/Lo Heaven and Step Heaven and enjoy those too when I don't want an intense workout (which is rarely ;-) ). I found the choreography do-able except for in the Stepping Zone (an early one), but I'm not the best person to ask about choreography as I find most choreography easy to pick up. I agree with others' comments that her music is really good (except for the music in her early ones). Hope that helps.

I just bought The Fantastic Four for something different. I had never done complex coreography prior to finding Cathe. I find Christi's slightly more difficult to pick up. I've only done Step Heaven twice and Hi/Lo Heaven once. I was ready to send it back to Collage, but I thought about it and I really like the way the steps move with the music, so I decided to give it another chance. I don't think I'll ever get section 2 of Step Heaven, but even if I don't, I can always do segment 1 and skip to segment 3, as I seem to follow those better. She is a pleasant instructor. She's not Cathe, but she's not real irritating. I haven't even tried the other workouts on the DVD yet, but I reiterate, I do like the way the steps flow with the music.
