Deanie, I'm in the same conumdrum as you. Do I run? Do I do something with a little less impact? Should I do a crossfit? What to do...

Marcy::: the tgu's were good. I left my link, you can check it out, I did 20kg tgu's! Glad you enjoyed the STS cardio. I understand there is a big bru-ha-ha about the cooldown, or lack of one. was that an issue for you?

I really enjoyed the workout today, but ran out of time to do a cash out. I've been so lazy about getting out of bed before 5:30 lately! Its so cold out and I'm so warm in bed!!LOL

Good Morning!!

I doing the following workout today. I may add in some swings as well or do some portions of the Goddess workout. Or maybe not. :p

6 rounds: Go through 12 of each movement then 10, 8, 6, 4 and 2.

Kettlebell Snatch 12/12, 10/10, 8/8, etc.
Kettlebell Push Press 12/12, 10/10, 8/8, etc
Reverse Lunge holding the bell 12/12, 10/10, 8/8, etc
1 arm row 12/12, 10/10, 8/8, etc
Walkouts 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2

Deanie ~ I did not want to get out of bed this morning either. I was so warm and sleepy.

Melissa ~ Enjoy your run or whatever you choose to do.

I don't know what the big deal is about the lack of a cooldown in STS cardio. I do my own. If you have been working out of a number of years, you should do what to do. Marcy, what do you think?

Got my run in! It wasn't a good run, but I feel good. I did 2 miles in 18:23. My runs in the morning are never as good as they are in the afternoons, but even knowing that I still don't like my time. :[ Still, I feel like I got a good workout and my engines are revved :]

Today I am doing lunch with my grandma - I love my grandma! She is so awesome. She practically raised me while my mom was in school and working 2 jobs, so almost all of my childhood memories of being loved have to do with her. :) We get to lunch while DH takes the boys on a field trip to the Lucas Oil Stadium - where the Colts play, baby!!! :cool:

Jane, I am really loving your workouts this week!

Deanie, I can really see the benefits of doing PTTP before ETK! Your c&p's (and I assuming they are KB) are impressive. :)

Jane - Cool workout! :cool: I'm actually starting to like walkouts.

Melissa - I think that's still a pretty good run! I've discovered that I'm not a good morning workout person either...even if I get to sleep in. Enjoy your lunch! :)

Deanie - Sweet workout! Very impressive TGUs yesterday! :cool: How exactly do the ladders work?

Marcy - Great workout yesterday! Yeah, I'm trying to reduce the refined carbs in my diet (mostly ditch the sugar and wheat gluten) and increase protein and fat.

I did Sadie Nardini's Core Strength Vinyasa: Transformation Through Weight Loss. Just got it last night and couldn't wait to try it out this morning. This is the lady who has the great youtube videos. I felt great this morning. She's such a great instructor and really tells you all the right things to get you in proper position. I did the Flying High practice (75 mins.) She does shakti kicks for preparation into handstand. I felt good and strong and was able to hold handstand away from the wall for a few seconds. There didn't seem to be lots of core work but she was always reminding you about holding in your core which really helped. There were a few levitation lifts and I guess plenty of plank work throughout. I was able to get deeper into chaturanga and hold it. She also had you practice going from plank into crow (almost had it but not quite!). But I am able to jump back from crow into chaturanga. Did some good backbends. No standing balance work in this. She also did firefly pose which I was able to do:

I can't wait to do the other 5 practices.

Jane: Re: cooldowns - I have to admit I did miss the cooldowns a little. She did more of a cooldown in some workouts more than others but it wasn't too bad and I can deal with it. I actually need more rests in the HIIT workouts but I just cooldown extra on my own to get my HR down for the next interval. I don't think she made the workouts any shorter by leaving out the cooldown if people have to cooldown on their own anyway but I guess she was keeping to her word about shorter workouts.

Melissa - Hope you have a great lunch with Grandma! You're lucky to still have her with you.

Gayle - I like walkouts too! My yoga practice this morning seemed to have plenty of them but they just get more fluid with the vinyasas.

Deanie - Great job on those TGUs! Impressive!

the c&p/pullup ladders I did this morning were:
1l/1r - 1 pullup
2l/2r - 2 pullups
3l/3r - 3 pullups
rinse and repeat!;)
I also started to increase my fat intake. I was at about 30% and now I'm in the 40% range. I've added more nuts to my diet, and avocados. easy to do and yummy, but I was wondering if 40%ish was too much. I saw Melissa Urban does in the 50% range...I don't eat a lot of protein though, usually about 13-15%, when I was eating more protein it didn't make me feel good :confused:

I forgot to mention I also did 1 pullup and 1 chinup today.

Deanie - I just started eating avocados for the first time last week. Yum but fattening (but the good fat!) I got a recipe from Spark people for a Shrimp, Avocado and Asparagus salad that was delicious! I've made it twice already. I think 40% sounds a little high but see if it works for you. The last few days I've been at around 36% and it's a little too high for me. I'll probably try to keep it at 30% in the future.

Deanie ~ I will probably use my 25 kb for push presses and snatches (although I haven't done snatches in a while so I'll see). For rows I'll use 35 or 44. I'm going to try to use my 35 for lunges.

Melissa ~ Enjoy your lunch with grandma. I miss my both my grandmas.

Marcy ~ I'm glad you enjoyed your workout today!! Good job on the firefly pose!!! I wouldn't even know I how begin to get into that position! :confused:
