Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to ease the swelling in hands?
I know it's par for the course at 8 months along, but I really can't stand the feeling of my hands being swollen.

They're not massively puffy - I'm in the clear with blood pressure and all - just puffy enough so that my rings are tight and I'm conscious of it.

Has anyone found a good remedy? Or have suggestions on how I may be able to prevent futher puffiness?

Ouch! No clue actually! Wish I could bemore helpful - this isn't something I remember encountering with DDs. Now, my feet were another story! Hope you get some relief.

I am at 8 months too. I haven't worn my rings in about a month and my feet are swollen too. I would appreciate any suggestions too.

No suggestions--just empathy--I'm swelling too and it's not even hot summer yetx( .

You don't even want to know where I get terrible pregnancy swelling. hint: It's not my feet or hands. And it's gross.

Oh Kristan,
If it's where I think it is, I've been in that boat since early in the first trimester!
So much so in fact that it caused an early end to any "fun" with DH, as things just plain hurt. This was/is not the "good" kind of swelling, and things just feel out of place!

:(

Alright, girls. Spill your beans!
I know about boob swelling. MIne did too and thakfully the pain is gone, but Kristan is your va-jay all swelled up or something?!

Just one side. It's actually a huge varicose vein that looks like a nest of worms. It's so ugly. It will go away after pregnancy. And I don't have any other varicose veins or hem. or swollen feet or anything.

Oh my goodness Kristan! You poor thing! Did that freak you out beyond belief when you found it?!

I've always been petrified I would get hemorrhoids. So far so good!

Same here, but mine is more in the front the back - if that makes sense. I'm not sure about vericose veins, I havne't looked. All I know is that there are days I'm walking funny because of it!

I got this very early on, so "fun time" with DH just plain hurts - much to both of our dismays!

i not only wear support hose, but a v strap support for those veins in front. i feel so ugly sometimes. as kristan said, though, they go away after delievery, but not fun!! and unfortunately, after a hard workout, they look worse than ever. thank good ness for clothes!

Ohmyword Girls! I have never heard of this and this is my 3rd pregnancy! I guess ignorance is bliss! I am so sorry you're going thry this! WOW! I'm in shock!

I remember looking at my feet after a long day on my feet when I was pg with #2, they looked like alien feet. My DH and eldest son and I all three just laughed and laughed!

As far as the swelling from the underbelly (labia),...I thought I was the only one! Ha Ha. Very puffy, but not painful,...just interesting and funny to push on. Ha Ha. Sometimes I have the same symptoms during my premenstrual time.

No advice for swelling, but I do have some good news. I swelled so much with #2, as mentioned earlier,...so much that after I gave birth to him I sweat perfusely for 2 solid weeks (grossly, and smelly). The GOOD news was that I lost all my pg weight at the end of 2 weeks, literally sweat it off! Wasn't so fortunate with #3. ;)

Oh, yes, the things they never tell you about being pregnant...Never mind the smiling, thin pregnant ladies in all those magazines and advertisements. I feel for you with the swelling in your hands. It's just part of being pregnant, unfortunately. With my first pregnancy, my right leg swelled up so much. I went to the dr., and they told me to lay with my leg elevated. I don't know if that's possible with your hands, but it may help (if you can figure out how to do that). The swelling went down after giving birth. This time around, I was wondering why my v-j has been hurting (like feeling bruised with no reason). Now I know (at least I am not alone). Oh, well, the end result is a new little baby, and all these pains won't last forever, so we just have to live with them.
I hope you find relief soon!

There are lots of things they don't tell us women but even more things that they don't tell men!! My husband didn't realize that I would "get pregnant everywhere" or that I would "stick out so much." Of course he didn't mean to be mean he was "just stating a fact" and thank goodness I can laugh about it.
