On-Line Catalog

I read there will not be a paper catalog mailed anymore. To my overwhelming disappointment.:(

I use this catalog for referencing a new workout for a month, heck even for a week or daily.

What I like about it is:

1. It has all the information you want at your fingertips

2. The dvd library

3. A description of the workout

4. The item number

5. The price

6. What level it is (beginning, intermediate or advanced)

7. Category (Example: Circuit, upper body, toning, cross training...)

8. Equipment needed

9. The time length of the workout

10. What format is used, (for instance Drill Max: shows how long the warm-up, cardio drills and stretches are)

11. The year it was made

12. The catalog also shows what is on the premixes and also the time frame of those premixes.

13. The information is all in one place.

Was wondering if there could be an on-line catalog where you can even turn the pages that way we can still have a catalog but it doesn't have to be sent out or use paper, and it could be for anyone who is interested.

I was hoping I'm not alone in wanting an on-line catalog with the same format as the paper one. It's an invaluable tool when you need to figure out what workout to be next in a rotation or routine.

Didn't know where to request this because it is unusual, so I put it out on the OD for everyone to see. What do you all think?

I wasn't around when the actual Cathe catalog was available, but I use the Compendium that is posted here on the forum for all of that information. I found it one day and printed it out. It's an excellent reference for time length, length of premixes, equipment needed. Price and year produced aren't there, but you can always find that in ShopCathe. I think the dvds on ShopCathe give you everything except the equipment, year produced and premix details.

I guess it would be really nice to have ALL of that in one place! Maybe SNM could just expand the info in ShopCathe?

i second that!

i think doing an online "catalog" is a great idea.
i especially like the idea of more details on the premixes.

I use the old catalog for time breakdowns and substitutions all the time. I miss not having anything to refer to for newer workouts. I treat my copy like gold. I'd be lost without it.
Just FYI, I never use any of my premixes because I never know how long they are and I have to make my weekly workout schedule based on the length of the workout. So premix breakdowns would be an added bonus.
(I wish Cathe had the workout times on all her monthly rotations so I didn't have to go and get out my cases and look them up. I'm not being lazy I'm just a time pressed Mom.)
One of the reasons I'm so faithful to Cathe is she makes exercising a no brainer for me.
I print out a rotation and if I'm not able to follow it exactly I refer to my catalog for the type of workout; intensity; etc., substitute something close and then I'm "on it".
I understand the need to save paper and money so an online catalog would be fantastic. Plus it could be updated once or twice a year when new workouts come out .... ;)

I wanted to bump this idea so everyone can get a chance to see it and reply, now that the weekend is over.

That it isn't a waste of time and that it will benefit in a lot of different ways, especially creating a rotation or routine, or just wanting to pick out a great workout for the day. Whether it might be 30 min. or over an hour, beginning, intermediate or advanced, step or circuit, weight lifting or stretching... We can chose quickly because it's all there at our fingertips.

Also wanted to comment that whoever worked on the paper catalog was a pure genius. They had a since of what people needed and wanted.

Hoping to generate interests so they will continue with this catalog.

I get the length of all the premixes in the workout manager. You select the DVD, then select the premix and it describes which combos or challenges or part of the workout is in the premix, and it gives the time in minutes. That seems to work pretty well for me.

For the equipment I have the excel sheets that Lani Fig has on her website...
Hope that helps someone.

Hey Tricia, can you post a link to the Compendium?

I didn't even know there was a catalogue. For environmental reasons, I'm glad they don't do that anymore and hope they replace it with an easy to use electronic version.

I love using my 2007 catalog to check off the premixes I have done and see which ones I have never done before;) The catalog is a nice tool to have. I think it's a great idea having an online catalog!

BTW, Didn't Cathe had an online catalog before:eek:
