Old sneakers and baby diapers

So the people in my dept at work wonder why I eat at my desk or outside. Most people at work eat JUNK for work, hot dogs/polishes from the GAS STATION across the street, McD's, Chinese carryout out, or KFC, none of which smell all that good on their own and certainly not when mixed together. The lunch room is small and not very well ventilated and stinks up pretty quickly. So, I don't eat in there. I have no idea what someone was cooking in there today but I swear it smelled like a cross between old nasty sneakers and used baby diapers. UCK!!! I about lost it. There needs to be a no smelly/nasty food rule at work.

Hahaha, that's funny! We have no "lunch room" at my office, so I have no place to eat but my desk. Sorry about all that stinky food -- I wouldn't care for that either!

Edited to add BLECH!! at the thought of a HOT DOG from (anywhere, much less) a GAS STATION!!!!

I wonder why all that food you mentioned has such a strong smell. On the rare occasion that I get the kids fast food for lunch, the house stinks for hours--same when we get take out (again a pretty rare thing). I never really thought about it until you posted. Those smells really do linger and they are nasty.

It must be awful in a small lunch room--our house is pretty large and well ventilated.

I'd keep eating outside and at your desk.

I know what you mean. My sister, her husband, and 2 kids LIVE off of fast food, taco bell, Mc Donalds, Burger King, . . . you name it. They eat out 3 times a day. Think of that 30 day movie where the guy eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner at mc donalds. Yes, they are overweight and the kids are well on their way. I HATE riding in her car because it ALWAYS smells like something fried and very greasy. I hate to see what their insides look like.
