Okay, what now?

Alright, I'm feeling a little bored with my workouts. I consider myself an advanced exerciser, but I'm feeling like I don't know what/who to go to next for good advanced workouts.

Here is what I have now:

- Cardio Coach
- Cathe (all the ones I really want for now)
- Some Patrick Goudeau
- Some Kelly Coffey-Meyer
- Some Amy Bento

I don't like the Firm, I'm "eh" towards Turbo Jam, I don't like what seems to be the majority of the workouts on Collagevideo.com now (when did they get so many beginning/intermediate workouts! That seems to be what all the newer ones are!) like Crunch and Shape and Prevention, etc.

I'd like to try the following, but I'm kind of wondering what your reviews are first, so if you have any input, I'd love to hear it!

- Treadmoves
- Spinervals (so many of these... any way you could point me in a good direction? the harder the better!)
- Some of the spinning DVDs from spinning.com
- Jari Love
- Kettlebells

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,
For kettlebell workouts try --The Art of Strength Newport and the Art of Strength Providence. I have both of these workout and they are definitely intense. Also, for variety in your workouts you may want to try Forza The Samurai Sword Workout: Kick Butt and Get Buff with High-Intensity Sword Fighting Moves by Ilaria Montagnani. This is an intense and fun cardio and strength workout.

Ditto the Art of Strength kettlebell workouts!!! I have The Kettlebell Way and I love it -- it's Anthony from Art of Strength with Beth Chamberlain and I love that, too.

Spinervals

Regarding Spinervals...in my opinion...they are all hard! :) I have 15 or so. I love all the Ultra Conditioning workouts with the Leg Strength Builder my favorite (but my favorites change depending on my mood! :)) These are all circuits so you are off and on the bike.

Some of the others I really like are: Lean & Mean, Enter the Red Zone, Bending Crank Arms, Mental Toughness, Muscle Breakdown and Zoot Challenge. Some of the older ones are participants using trainers while all the newer ones (like Ultras) have people on spin bikes and some are a mixed bag. So if you're using a trainer, he tells you what gear you should be in. If you're using a spin bike, unless you're using a Rev Master, you'll have to determine your intensity level. I have a schwinn spin bike, so I base my level on my cadence; level 1 is easiest and 5 the hardest.

Hope that helps! Let me add, I LOVE my spin bike and cross train regularly with Cathe step and running.

I ditto the suggestions for kettlebells. They are unlike anything you have done before. There are some great dvds out there and if you have room outside you can combine kettlebells with jump rope for a great cardio and strength workout.

I would also suggest Crossfit workouts. Although these are not dvds they will give you great ideas to amp up your workouts and can be done anywhere. I get lots of my workouts from the affiliate sites. Their website is www.crossfit.com.

Thanks to all your suggestions!

Regina, I ordered Walking Strong on Netflix!

I really want to check out some Kettlebell workouts... I'll see if DH will let me spend the $$!

Jane, Crossfit.com looks interesting... I'll have to dig at that a bit more.

Fit44, I am waiting to see what everyone else says about ChaLEAN Extreme before I jump on the bandwagon... I like her *ok* in Turbo Jam, but I'm not yet sure how I'd feel about her in something like this.

Jo, thanks for the Spinervals feedback! I have a Lemonde spinning bike and I used to be a spinning instructor, but it's tough to get motivated all by myself in a corner of the basement sometimes!

Thank you all for the great suggestions! :)
