OK, what do I wear???

Since I've read all of the posts about what to wear and what not to wear(sounds like a tv show!), I trust ya'lls opinions. So what do you all think I should wear to an interview to be a personal trainer? Do you get dressed like it's a "normal" interview or do you *gasp* wear nice workout clothes since that's probably what you're going to be working in? Or do you dress nicely but casually? I'm sooo confused?
All advice is appreciated!
Carolyn

I would dress like it's a "normal interview". Maybe something that isn't too dressy, though, perhaps dress pants/nice blouse/jacket.
Good Luck

Hi Carolyn,

I've never interviewed for this type of job, but here's my .02 anyway. :)

Are you interviewing with an individual or a company? If it's a company, you might ask them ahead of time if they'll want you to demonstrate your abilities/knowledge in the gym, where you'd want to wear something that you can move in.

If it's for an individual, I'd think "nice" workout wear (sporty casual?) would suffice. That's what I'd expect if I were interviewing a prospective personal trainer.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement!! The interview is for a Gold's Gym and while I would prefer to start up my own business, I thought it would be a good idea to get a feel for the job in a company setting first. I think you all are right about dressing nicely. When they call me to set up the interview, I'll ask about the demonstrating of techniques as well to get a better idea on what they're looking for(as far as dress goes).
Thanks again!!!
Carolyn
