Ok - here's a dumb question

My height as a grown woman has always been 5'4". About a year ago my back began bothering me. Nothing major, but there was a "bump" on my lower back that felt as if I was lying on a rock when doing ab work. Went to an orthopedist who determined that I have a "slipped and collapsed disc". You can see this protruding disc when I stand sideways, and it has dropped my height to between 5'3" and 5'3 1/2". Do I still measure my BMI or use weight charts based on the 5'4"? Or knock it down? Anyone know?

I agree. Stick with 5'4". Your amount of body mass didn't change; it's just rearranged a bit. I hope this disk isn't causing you too much discomfort? Can it be fixed?

Sandra

use both BMI for body makeup. Weight charts don't include muscle mass, which is heavier than fat mass.
