oh NO! broken/really hurt toe.. now what!

i was getting ready to start my CTX rotation tomorrow after enjoying the basic/intermediate dvd's for a couple weeks.. then last night i did the DUMBEST thing... i let a bottle of wine fall out of the fridge onto my middle toe... UGH.. i'm SOOOOOOO mad! x( x( x(

i know i shouldn't/can't do step... but if i were order a different dvd's.. what would be the best route to go so that i can do toning now that i assume i'll be off cardio/step for a few days/weeks?

i was planning on ordering a strength/endurance type workout next(although i was leaning toward boot camp since i've heard so much about it..)

what are good workouts that are less on cardio/lunges?

thanx!

I also hurt my middle toes- stubbed it badly and I couldn't wear shoes (besides flipflops) for a week. There's not much to do but let it rest, ice and elevate. Mine is fine now but it took about a week.

Awww, sorry to hear of your accident. I can relate as I broke my toe a couple years ago. Why not just concentrate on weight work and ABS for the next week or so til you see how your toes does? Not sure I would recommend Bootcamp as it is high intensity cardio. (Unless of course you want to do the UB work and core work???) I had trouble doing high impact and also lunges. I was able to do squats, plies and also leg presses with my Bun & Thigh Rocker since I pushed thru my heels and not my toes. Maybe take this time to really hit your UB & ABS hard and when you come back to LB you'll be fresh and ready to go at it. Good Luck and keep us posted. Oh, I love PH and ME for endurance work and PS & S&H for strength work. You might have to omit a few exercises that bother your toe. HEAL SOON!

I think that if I were you, I'd concentrate on upper body and abs this week with some lower body floor work (only) for at least 1.5 - 2 weeks. Then, if you are feeling better, you can add in leg presses and squats. These are good moves b/c you can lift your toes in your shoe while you work.

Be very careful when you add new moves to make sure that you don't hurt yourself. When I add a new move recovering from an injury or strain, I only do one set the first day and check my tenderness the following day. Sometimes injuries feel fine when adding in new moves but then surprise you with pain the next day.

Good luck! And go slowly!

thanx for the replies/advice.. i think i didn't hurt is as bad as i thought.. as it's much better today.. i just freaked out cuz it hurt so bad overnight and yesterday morning!

i'm still taking it easy to be sure!
