Officially overdue!!!!

So I am officially overdue! And we thought I was going early! My husband is military, hence I am going to a military hospital and they do NOT get in a rush to do anything. I am so frustrated! We expected the baby to be here around the 1st- now it is the 9th! I am having contractions every day, backaches, cramping, lost my mucous plug, spotting....yet every time I go in they tell me to go home and wait. Two weeks ago I was told I was dilated to 2, two days later that i was dilated to 1, went to labor and delivery b/c of leaking and was told I was dilated to 3, when I saw my doc 3 days later he said I was only at 2, had another doc appt on Wed. and he said I was 3 1/2 to 4 so that if I started contracting to come to labor and delivery. Well I had contractions all day yesterday but not regular, they got to be about 4 minutes apart so we went in to L&D and they doc on call told me I was only at 3 and to go home!!!!!!! I heard that labor was a 2 steps forward, one step back process but this is getting ridiculous! I started crying last night when they sent me home- may be the pregnancy hormones but I feel like I am just getting jerked around- depending on who I see- one of the docs has tried to get me admitted and get something going but the other 2 seem like they just don't want to do anything. Anyway, its military policy that they don't admit you until you are dilated past 4! I feel so stupid going to L&D only to be sent home- last night was the 3rd time and I literally am not going back until I am in such pain that i can't move!!!!
SOrry for ranting and raving just so frustrated and needed to get it off my chest!!!!!!!!!!!!x( ;-) Thanks for your thoughts everyone! WIll keep you updated!
HEather

Heather, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles!

I send you (((labor vibes))) and hopefully you will go soon!!!!

Keep us posted
Kristine :)

Omigosh Heather, not such a good experience so far. I'm so sorry for you. Soon, soon, don't ya worry and then all of this nonsense will be so forgotten. Thinking of you!
XOXO

I feel for you...I was 5 days late with this third one...
4 days early with the first and 2 weeks early with the second...I thought for sure I'd be early with this one too...

My midwife had just scheduled me for an induction the next week if I didn't go into labor on my own, but I guess I didn't need it!

Our "regular" hospitals here don't admit you unless you're 4 or more too... or if you're water broke.

I did the raspberry leaf tea, the castor oil, and nipple stimulation and went into labor that night...doesn't hurt to try!

Good luck! I feel your pain!

Leslie

Oh believe me, I have been trying everything known to mankind!!!!!!LOL- evening primrose oil, nipple stimulation, hot showers, walking, fun with the hubby ;-) although I think he is starting to feel used! I know logically that I will be having the baby soon, the thing I am worried about is that day before yesterday they predicted the baby would be 9 1/2 lbs or more (first baby was over that and was induced a week early) so the longer I go the bigger this baby gets!!! Thats one of the major reasons I am ready to get this baby here!

Hang in there, Heather. My baby was born 12 days past my due date. At 10 days past due I had no signs that she wanted to enter this world. I ended up entering the hospital for an induction. At least you are dilating and having contractions. And don't apologize for rants to vent frustration. At this point, you've earned them! Good luck to you and your little one. :)

I am new here, but I certainly do feel your frustration. I was bedridden for the last 4 weeks of my oldest son trying to stop the deliver as I was 6 weeks early. I went to the doc (at 4:30 p.m.) telling him about the contractions and the bleeding. He took one look at me and told me to go home and pout, I was only dilated to 2. So I did. DH came home, took one look at me and marched me right back up to the Doc's office. Doc admitted that he said that to me and decided he better take me to the hospital since I was crowning, no time for an ambulance. My son was born at 6:30 that night. I will be thinking of you during the frustrating time. Things will work out fine. My son, who was only 4 lbs and 6 weeks early is now 15 and a very healthy giant. :)

heather i am so so sorry. cannot believe all you have been thru. being exhausted doesn't help, i am sure, and considering how often you are contracting and all that goes with it, whew. i am sure things will all work out, but getting to that point is the hard hard part. i am thinking of you though and know you will get to the other side. have you thought of trying accupuncture or acupressure? may be worth an appointment.
