Good morning ladies..

Today is 4DS kickbox cardio..but, I am feeling my body is tired and sore. So, I think I may rest today and maybe tomorrow since this is my recovery week. Then pick up some cardio on Monday for the week...That is what I am thinking now. Unless I feel tons better when my body is fully awake...

ok, be back later...

Hey Kathy!
Hey Everyone!

Kathy: I think taking today as a rest day is perfectly ok. Esp. with "recovery week" coming up. You can't go wrong with listening to your body.

I think I'm going to go pull out an oldie but goodie for cardio today. One from Cardio Hits...

BBL!

Good morning! Kathy, we have the same workout today! ;) I woke up at 4:00, but knew I just didn't need to wake up that early, fell back asleep for a little while. Could have gotten up and done some yoga or something later, but we have a houseguest, and I just didn't want to bother him, so I decided to make it an honest to goodness rest day and slept in til 6:30! Nice -- so, I think rest for you is good, too. Chris, enjoy cardio hits!

We have soccer early this morning. Once again, I reminded the wrong people to bring snacks..... I did this all the time last year. I don't know why they put me in charge!!! That means I will have to make up for it next week, I think. After that we have the weekend ahead of us -- nothing planned!

Did you guys see my post about living very close to Mindy Mylrea? Crazy! I'm thinking about buying a bosu -- I'm guessing no one has one because you never talk about it. They are so crazy expensive, it seems like, but I hear costco has decent prices on them. My kids saw Mindy on one and they said "You should get one" and then the other one said "you should get three of them!" They love my stability ball.

Joanne, I sure hope you have no rain for football!!! And yes, 5th grade math was a challenge for me -- I had to grade and I don't know how much I messed up (had no key!!!). They are also doing decimals, and they use shapes to represent the place values, and I kept mixing up which was which! They had to order decimal numbers least to greatest, and I sure had to think about those! Good little mental workout I had yesterday! ;)

Have a great day!

Hey Again!

I ended up doing Step Works..Never done before, and holy crap! it was fun!! Good ol' fashioned fun step stuff, that has always been my first love!

I need to do that more for cardio. I didn't do the entire thing though. Just 2 of the 3 combos. I'm dragging this morning, and the cardio didn't help. I did the Ab work that was on the same DVD (from PS) , and really felt like laying down and sleeping afterwards. All in all, I did 46 minutes of step, and 10 minutes of abs...

I have so much crap to do today: cleaning, cooking, getting ready for work, and the sitter. Just don't feel like it.... *sigh*

But it will get done..it always does.

I'm still feeling a little funky about Zach's field trip, even though they said I'd be going. A few friends told me that they thought the best option would be for me to get down to DC on my own, and just stay in the general vicinity and be there in case he needs me. That bummed me out, thinking I'm not ready for that, and maybe I'm being too protective that I want to be right there with him in case something happens. Is that wrong? Am I doing the wrong thing? what do you guys think?

So , yes, a little funk remains...

Beth: Again, you're doing the same workout as someone else!! ;) You copy cat, you!

... Good to sleep in a bit, and enjoy soccer today! Is the weather cooler out there these days?... I did read about Mindy living close to you! That is so cool!! She doesn't have a gym thing like Cathe, does she? .. I don't have a Bosu, but toyed with the idea of getting one once. I ended up taking a sample class at the YMCA. It just didn't grab me then, and it seemed like something I wouldn't get such good use out of. (and I don't have the room for it, really). Plus, yes, they are very expensive. Love that your boys each want one!!!

Math was actually one of my favorite subjects in school. Algebra being my the best. I just love solving those problems with AB+C=4C. Fun!!!

to Hottie (if you get online somehow!..miss ya), Joanne and Vilma!!!!

Where are all the people??

I'm off to work in a few... feeling so tired, almost scared that one of those headaches are in the works.

Think "No Headache" thoughts for me please!!!

Hey Chris! Glad you had such fun with the workout -- I'm not sure I have that one -- if I do, I don't think I"ve ever done it.

Sorry that you are in a funk about the DC trip still. I don't understand the motivation behind not traveling with them -- are there not some adults traveling with them -- teachers, or complete strangers? I would think it would be fine for you to travel with them. Are they thinking he would be embarrassed that his mom is on the trip? If that's what it's about, I would have a good talk with him, explain your feelings, and ask him how he feels about it. I would probably present it in such a way that I made him want the answer I want, truth be told!!

The soccer games were fun -- Dylan was in the goal for the first time ever. He knew he was going to be put in goal, so we were talking about it on the drive there. I asked Travis if he had any advice for first-timer Dylan, and he said "Always make sure you put yourself directly in front of the ball." That kid is brilliant! ;) At any rate, Dylan was fantastic! I was so proud of him!! He only had one score on him, and that was just immediately following a kick that went right into his crotch and he was making a dramatic scene of grabbing himself there. He is such a ham. And then they scored. But he blocked many many shots. Very cool. His team won after being down three (that were all scored in the quarter he was not in the goal). Travis' team played really well again, but unfortunately they got kicked again. Travis said "it would have been a tie if they'd called the shots right." That team is beginning to get a bit down -- you can see it in their playing. It's too bad because they really do try hard. How was football, Joanne?

And then we had the painting hung! It looks so great. Gordon was very pleased. He'd been to our house only once, and was remembering it a bit wrong, so he was worried about where we were going to put it. I think he was very happy to see the end result hanging there.

Our weather has turned a bit cool -- it was 46 when we left for soccer, but warmed up nicely as they played. We are supposed to get hit with 6" of rain on Tuesday, so everyone at soccer was talking about how they were going to go home and work on weather proofing. We had gutter cleaning and checking for leaks at our house. Looks pretty tight. Should be a good storm.

We just did this crazy exercise of loading up everyone, including Gina, to go to the pound and get another dog or a cat. Larry wants Travis to have his own dog that is really Travis' dog. And Dylan wants a kitten. Well, realistically we would have gotten to the pound within an hour of them closing, so we're partway up the road and I said "this is nuts!" and Larry said, "Mama's right, I'm turning around." He had wacked his leg when we were loading up, and he was bleeding sort of badly anyway. We are crazy! Tomorrow we are headed to the pound.... it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Good morning! Where is everyone?! I'm guessing Kathy is off to church this morning. Chris, how was work last night -- were you able to stay awake? I guess you have to, somehow!

I so wanted to do a weight workout this morning (that involved my upper body)! So as not to be too stupid, I did a firm with really light weights. I skipped anything that I thought might be bad (chest work mostly). Then I did some barre seat work -- it always amazes me how little it takes to really fry that area if you do certain movements -- wow! I think I'll feel that later. Then I added on the squeeze stronger waist work. Feeling pretty good -- hopefully my upper body won't hate me later. I did notice that even just a little bit of work with light weights got in there for me, so it's going to be very interesting to see how long it takes me to build back up (if I ever can!).

We have more winter-proofing to do today, laundry (of course!), and a trip to the pound. We are crazy, I know! I hope it's not a huge mistake.....

Hey ladies...

Still feeling like I need rest. So, today is going to be another rest day for me...Tomorrow I will keep going with recovery week and get some cardio in....ok, gotta get some things done around here. Wish I had time to chat. I will try to stop back in later..

Hey Gals!

Survived work last night, no headache today, feel pretty good, actually. Waiting for my Wonton Soup and Crab Rangoons....

Beth: How exciting for Dylan yesterday! LOL about the shot to the crotch though. Hey, you don't have "boys" so you don't know how dramatic he really was...;) .... On the trip, there are teachers going and they will be on the bus too. AND Zach has suddenly changed his tune about me going too. I thought for sure he'd not go for the idea of me chaperoning his group, but he had no objections when I asked him if that was a possibility. It's not Zach. Some friends of mine feel I need to "let go" a little more. (Which makes me upset, because I'm so not ready for any more than we already have. he' pretty independent in his diabetes care, except for middle of the night checks and changing the needle in his back side). I guess what gets more more is the reality of what my son has and lifetime possible implications (amputation, premature heart disease, lifelong management , impotence). I think I may call Zach's Endo doc this week and ask about their opinions on counseling for ME. ...

Hope your shoulder is okay from today! Sounds like a good overall body workout you got in..

Good luck at the pound today! I'd love to have more animals, I think it's great you're going, not crazy!!

Gotta go.....

Have a nice Sunday evening...

Hi girls!! Everyone may already be done for the day, so don't know if anyone will see this! I didn't do any workouts this weekend. :( Had a bad night Friday - more DH problems. I tell you, this marriage stuff is hard. I was beat Saturday from being upset all Friday night and then I couldn't sleep last night. I don't know...onto more fun stuff...

Beth, loved the soccer recap! Sounds very exciting for Dylan! I'm always so nervous when one of my kids is in the goal. I'm so afraid they get upset if they let a goal in. I love watching soccer. We took Jameson out for the season - he just missed too much being sick. Him and Colin will do indoor soccer in the winter. I did read about you living near Mindy. How cool! She seems like so much fun. I do have a bosu. The kids love it. ;) They'll bring it out and jump onto it and then spring onto the couch. That's about as much use as its gotten. I do have one cardio DVD that uses it, but I'm afraid I'll break my ankle. I think I have one old Mindy DVD with it that I used once. I just did get the two new Mindy's, though. One is all Bosu and I think the other uses it a little. I may do one in the morning. So, are you going to get a dog and a cat? I think that's great! I would love to get another puppy. I just love dogs. But, realistically, it would probably be a bit too much chaos!!

Chris, I think it's perfectly normal to be so concerned and I don't think you're being overprotective. It's a serious illness. I'd be freaking out, too. I get nervous about Caitlyn doing stuff especially as she gets older. We really don't have clear answers about how much she can exert herself because I don't think they really know. I think it's an excellent idea to try to find other parents in the same situation. Are there support groups maybe at the hospital for parents of children with diabetes? I know our hospital has several groups like that. Everyone can give you their opinion or tell you how they think you should handle it, but parents in your shoes can give you a good perspective.

Football was good - but soooo cold!! No rain, so that was good at least. The B team did great. Really put their all into it. They did lose 12-6, but played a good game. The A team just didn't seem to have their hearts in it and they lost too. I'm not sure what's going to happen next year. Colin is doing really well as the quarterback for the B team. Next year he'll be on the A team, which already has a quarterback. The football coordinator told DH they want Colin to be the quarterback. I guess the dad of the kid who's quarterback now is not happy. I feel bad for the kid. I'm not sure that's fair to the current quarterback and I'd love for Colin to be the quarterback for the A team. I'm not sure how that will all work out.

Tomorrow Jameson is shadowing my nephew at one of the Catholic high schools. They have a dress code of a shirt and tie everyday and dress pants and shoes. So, of course, we were scavenging to find something that fit him. Ian was so funny. His face was priceless when I told him if he went there he'd have to dress like that everyday. He hates wearing anything that's not jeans or shorts.

Time to get to bed so I have energy for a workout tomorrow...have a good night all. Talk to you tomorrow.

Joanne
