Hey Chris! Glad you had such fun with the workout -- I'm not sure I have that one -- if I do, I don't think I"ve ever done it.
Sorry that you are in a funk about the DC trip still. I don't understand the motivation behind not traveling with them -- are there not some adults traveling with them -- teachers, or complete strangers? I would think it would be fine for you to travel with them. Are they thinking he would be embarrassed that his mom is on the trip? If that's what it's about, I would have a good talk with him, explain your feelings, and ask him how he feels about it. I would probably present it in such a way that I made him want the answer I want, truth be told!!
The soccer games were fun -- Dylan was in the goal for the first time ever. He knew he was going to be put in goal, so we were talking about it on the drive there. I asked Travis if he had any advice for first-timer Dylan, and he said "Always make sure you put yourself directly in front of the ball." That kid is brilliant!

At any rate, Dylan was fantastic! I was so proud of him!! He only had one score on him, and that was just immediately following a kick that went right into his crotch and he was making a dramatic scene of grabbing himself there. He is such a ham. And then they scored. But he blocked many many shots. Very cool. His team won after being down three (that were all scored in the quarter he was not in the goal). Travis' team played really well again, but unfortunately they got kicked again. Travis said "it would have been a tie if they'd called the shots right." That team is beginning to get a bit down -- you can see it in their playing. It's too bad because they really do try hard. How was football, Joanne?
And then we had the painting hung! It looks so great. Gordon was very pleased. He'd been to our house only once, and was remembering it a bit wrong, so he was worried about where we were going to put it. I think he was very happy to see the end result hanging there.
Our weather has turned a bit cool -- it was 46 when we left for soccer, but warmed up nicely as they played. We are supposed to get hit with 6" of rain on Tuesday, so everyone at soccer was talking about how they were going to go home and work on weather proofing. We had gutter cleaning and checking for leaks at our house. Looks pretty tight. Should be a good storm.
We just did this crazy exercise of loading up everyone, including Gina, to go to the pound and get another dog or a cat. Larry wants Travis to have his own dog that is really Travis' dog. And Dylan wants a kitten. Well, realistically we would have gotten to the pound within an hour of them closing, so we're partway up the road and I said "this is nuts!" and Larry said, "Mama's right, I'm turning around." He had wacked his leg when we were loading up, and he was bleeding sort of badly anyway. We are crazy! Tomorrow we are headed to the pound.... it'll be interesting to see what happens.
