Good morning ladies..

Workout for me today is the cardio from the original bootcamp and instead of the quick fix cardio I am going to hop on my elliptical for that part. Luckily no major DOMS from yesterday's leg work. I have a little soreness. We will see if it develops as the day goes on...

ok, library day for us and Chris has baseball practice. Due to the rain lately and cancelled games, the championship baseball game is now on Saturday (unless it gets changed again!).

Anyway, be back later..time to start this Thursday!

Good Morning Kathy!
And all to follow!!

Kathy: Hope you have fun with BC cardio! Those are tough drills! I know, I never liked the quick fix cardio, I think i did it only once.

I slept so good last night (hubby was off and did the sugar checks). Somehow, sleeping so good makes me more tired the next day. Weird. Plus I had very labile emotions yesterday. I laid on Jake's bed right before supper and SOBBED like a little kid for 15 minutes. I guess it's good to get it out. But ya know, I'm sick of this crap ruining and ruling my days, I need to stop lettting it drag me down.

We ended up taking Alex and Jake to the Halloween Haunted House/Party last night. Thankfully the rain let up for the time we had to walk outside. I'm a wimp when it comes to Haunted Houses, and the past years Jake has always chosen to go in the "non-scary" haunted house. (People dressed up spookily, but they wave to you and say nice things! LOL!). This year he wanted to go in the SPOOKY side. I was a little nervous about that... But we all went, and I laughed the entire time. It's put on by college kids, and they're all dressed up with gorey costumes and they do gorey things in the dark, plus jump out at you and scream. I just found it hilarious! (Plus it smelled vaguely like BO and sweaty boys...THAT was the worst thing about it! LOL!)

Today for cardio I'm thinking of a few things , Maybe tackling Mindy's Mylrea's "Action Packed" Step and maybe a bike ride later. The sun is OUT and shining and is also going to help my mood.

Chris: I hope you are doing better today emotionally. I know you really do need to let it out occasionally or it takes over inside. That isn't good. Feel better...sending you cyber hugs~~~~~!! Sounds like fun your haunted house party...My kids won't do those haunted houses. They don't like to be really scared like that. We will just be going around the neighborhood when we get back from church Saturday night. Lauren is singing Saturday night for All Saints mass....Enjoy your workout!!

Hi ladies. Too funny - you all know me way too well! ;) I didn't have any cake - it was weird - I had planned to go and stay for awhile. I asked some of my coworkers if they were going and they said they weren't staying - just dropping off their gifts. They said they didn't want to take that much time out of work. It's a girl from another department, but most of us were invited. I wasn't going to be the only one to stay and look like I was slacking off! I was a bit dissapointed though. I actuallly like baby showers, bridal showers, not so much. Booorrriinng!! So, I didn't even see the cake. :(

Hottie, so sorry you had sucky bridal showers! Not to bring back bad memories, but what happened? Don't worry, someday you'll have a lovely baby shower! ;) I didn't have a bridal shower - we sort of eloped and got married in Ireland. Then just had a reception here a couple months after. Oh, I'm gulible, too - always looking like a goof when I believe things people tell me and they're just kidding.

Chris, cyber hugs from me, too. Sometimes you just need to let it out. Maybe you should go out for a run today - those endorphins might help you feel better. That's too funny about the BO smell in the haunted house! Those kind of creep me out too. We went to one last year, I think. Only Ian and Jameson would go in.

Kathy, good luck to Chris in the championship game. What is the quick fix cardio? Is that a mix Cathe put together that you do on your own?

Well, I planned on sleeping in and using the treadmill at lunch. I slept in, but then realized I have lunch plans, so I can't do the treadmill. Oh, well. Twist my arm - I'll go eat! I'm kind of doing an informal rest week this week, so it's OK. Today my back feels almost 100%, so that's good.

Good news finally about my dad - he had the surgery yesterday and they were able to break up and take out the stones. He was in ICU just for the night to monitor him and should go to a regular room today. He seemed so relieved after the surgery that maybe this ordeal was finally over. They couldn't find any source of bleeding, but it appears to have stopped, so I guess they're not worried about it anymore.

BBL...

hey guys...both of us had another crappy night! We both feel terrible. ::sigh:: Joe's going to try and telecommute and I'm going to try and get into work when traffic dies to pick up my lab notebook so I can update it and process data at home. GRRRR. I'm really becoming a bit panicked at my lack of getting experiments done/to work. But I tell myself there's no point in pushing an experiment when you're not up to it -- it's most likely going to fail under those conditions.

Kathy, I don't have Leg DOMS either! Just some soreness! Wohoo! What is it about the first week leg exercise that she makes us do in the beginning of a mesocycle. I like these trisets though. If anything I don't have to worry about scrambling for weights. if I feel up to it, I'll do some cardio. I really need it because since we felt like crap last night we ate like crap too (McDs).

Chris, that haunted house thing sounds great. I always wanted to go to a halloween night at the six flags or knotts berry but Joe does not like spook. He likes costumes but I hate costumes! I understand how you're feeling though...I've been having my own stuff pile on in the background lately and I broke down two days ago and sobbed...it's hard to push through it all sometimes. But that's what exercise is for!.

Joanne, no cake!?!?!?! So wrong. Blech...basically, I had two. One by family members to which I had to FLY out for (an then drive 2+hrs) to this tiny ass apartment on Riverside drive in NYC. I realize that place cost will over a 1 mil but I would have rather been at my sister's equally expensive ginormous house outside of the city. Also, it was typical, a lot of people I didn't care for, but we had to go, and god forbid people show up on time and you know...it was really more about everyone else other than me (which was sort of what my wedding in jersey was like anyway so why am I that surprised). I had one thrown by a friend here in CA but she 1) made a bridal shower more for HER than for me and frankly didn't put a ton of effort in, and 2) didn't bother sending out invites until very late and didn't bother to call the people individually (because most of them didn't realize what day it was), and 3) then bitched about the amount of work she had to do on her freaking blog. The last one killed me and after that we had a falling out. I'm better for not having her in my life, but eh!!! It's good to know I'm not the only gullible person here though! SO HAPPY that your dad is recovering better. You know, where ever the source of bleeding was, it probably just healed by itself. I hope he'll be pain free soon.

Ugh, now to try and see if Joe can get up...

HI ladies...

Checking back with my workout done....I ended up doing the core only premix on the bootcamp dvd too.

Joanne: Yes, the quick fix cardio was what Cathe put together. I think it was a minute of jumping jacks, step work and like 3 other things and repeat..Glad to read that your dad is getting better. Thanks for the cheers for Chris' baseball game. We hope his team wins too..

Hottie: I like the trisets too. And I have noticed that the first week the muscles really get shocked and end up with so many DOMS...I haven't been eating the best either. I am still trying to step up the clean eating..Forever trying to perfect that aspext of weight loss! Sorry you guys had a crappy night. Hope your day is better..

Hey Girls!

I did end up doing Mindy Mylrea's Action Packed Step. OMG, I LOVE her and I LOVE this workout! She makes me laugh every time.... Like when she starts running WIDE and then says, "Oh, i won't do that anymore, after having 3 kids, if you know what I mean!" Plus I sweat my a$$ off with those little intervals she does. Still don't have every step sequence, but I keep moving. I ended up doing Total Body Stretch afterwards, without the ball. Felt good, as always...

Joanne: Bummer on no cake yesterday! Sounds like everyone was "bah humbug" about the shower. Baby showers are fun and much funner than bridal showers. The gifts are cuter!... Glad to hear your dad is on the road to recovery as I'm sure HE and your mom are too!...Lunch out is a better offer than a treadmill any day. Though if it was a run at the park, it could be a tough decision! ... I didn't run today. I've had a one sided headaceh since I got up. Was hoping to shake it, but it wouldn't and maybe I feel like I don't "deserve" the run endorphins in a way too.

Hottie
: At least you and Joe are in it together with your sickies. Hope you got Joe up. It sounds nice that you can make your own schedule at work at least. Hope you get caught up today!!

Kathy: Good idea to do the Core BC Premix.... that one is one of the toughest core work I can think of. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. ... My eating is pretty much the same too. (Not good like I had intended for the second round of STS). But it's ok, I will try every day and not give up! It's all we can do!

Got to go pick up Zach from Jazz Band in a few... BBL! (if I don't die from a sugar overdose on Candy Corn!

Hey, maybe no one will even see this -- it's so late! Totally crazy day.... I'll spare you the boring details, but Chris, I have a feeling I'm going to be depressed about work for a while too!!

Joanne, so glad to hear your dad is doing well! That's great!

Kathy, I was also going to comment that it seems like the first week of each meso is killer with the DOMs, but they get less as you do more of the workouts -- more proof that we need to continually shock!!! :)

I've got to get dinner going, etc.... made a really yummy beef stew last night. Mmmm-mmmm.

I've been awful with the halloween candy, and went to a cabi party a week or so ago (do you guys know what that is? Clothing). Anyway, the woman talked me into buying a size 4 jean -- sure hope they fit by the time I get them! Rumor has it that's this weekend.... we'll see! It was complete vanity sizing on that clothing, btw. What a successful way to sell clothes -- combine wine with vanity sizing and throw in a bunch of women who say "that looks great on you!" and well, a lot of clothes are sold!
