Hi ladies..

I am feeling alot better today. So, I think I am going to tackle a cardio workout this afternoon when I am done with the kids lessons. I was thinking about doing one of Kari Anderson's step DVDs. I like her workouts and they aren't too intense. Sounds like what I need today..

Ok, hope everyone is doing well today. I will check back later..

Hey Kathy!

Good morning everyone who follows (anyone? ;))

I have some pretty good DOMS in my lower half today... STS got me on the 3rd week good! Seemed like Disc 9 had a ton of deadlifts in it, and lunges. I'm glad I did it on Wed, instead of before the JDRFWalk this weekend. Speaking of, the weather is looking horrid for Sunday , the day of the walk. Showers, cold! I'm going to brave it though, I wonder if the boys will make it with me??

It is COLD this morning, 30 degrees flat. Jake has on his winter coat and mittens.

Alex is my "hot" boy, he's in short freakin sleaves, and feels like an ice cube and says, "I'm ok".

I have to go to yet another educational thingie magiggy for work this morning from 10-12n. It ruins my day. Actually ruins my day AND Greg's, since it's his day off. I'm so not looking forward to it. But it will get done. I'm planning on coming back and doing 4DS BC, short and intense, and then some abs. not sure which one, again.

Greg is going to the Mall himself and picking up the $1000 prize that I finally decided on (my winnings from Beach Body). We're going to get a BOSE sound system for the TV with a CD player. Something we all can enjoy. It's going to be cool!!!

Kathy: AWESOME you're feeling better today!! It will be fun to do a different, lower key cardio! Have fun!!!!

Hey to Beth (you ok?), Joanne and Vilma!!!!!

Ooooohhhh it's like winter here, I'm freezing!!!!

Hey Chris: What a great idea! I have heard those Bose systems are so nice..I would love to have one too. It is chilly and rainy here too. Chris is suppose to have a baseball game tonight; first one of the tournament. But, it doesn't seem that it will happen if it keeps raining..Hope the weather changes for your Sunday walk. Enjoy those DOMS. I had some good DOMS after most of the workouts! Looking forward to my cardio today. I have been feeling like a bum even though I know my body needed the time off..

Hey! I have to make this fairly quick, and I haven't read anything from anyone (except this morning's thread), so I'm way behind. Larry just called me and said the power is finally back on (after almost a full 48 hours without!). Our internet device broke, so even with power I won't have any connection from home for a while, but knowing Larry that'll be not too long. It rained something between 12 and 14 inches on Tuesday -- just insane!!! Trees and power lines were down everywhere. It was a huge area that was affected.

We got two new kittens -- they are soooo cute! Only two months old. Both tabbies, I guess -- one orange and one gray. We're still working on names. I really wanted to name the gray one stormy since Larry and Dylan crazily went out on Tuesday to adopt them.

I went to the chiro yesterday. She did a bunch of testing and found I have good range of motion, but she could see something is out of whack (I forget exactly what she said) and my rhomboid muscle has almost no strength on the one side. It was almost comical -- she went through everything and said I have good strength and then finally that one was last and she almost pushed me off the table testing it -- I swear, I couldn't resist her at all. It was very odd! The good news is she said it's not serious at all, but she can fix me up in 4-6 weeks, and if I just let it heal on its on it would build up scar tissue and I'd be more likely to injure it later, so, I feel like I'm doing the right thing. She gave me one treatment already (normally she doesn't on the first visit), and I go again tomorrow -- two times a week for a while. She will show me some exercises tomorrow so that I know what I can do and all. I'm very excited and optimistic about it! Unfortunately the kids have no school tomorrow, so I have to bring them with me and it means we can't quite have the day we had wanted. Oh well!

Hope all is well -- Chris, I sure hope you have no rain, or light rain at worst, for your walk. I haven't checked my mail, but you saw mine about the walk, right? Just want to make sure!

Have a great day, ladies!

Hi ladies!!

No workout for me yet. Crazy night. My poor dad is in the hospital AGAIN! He's had some issues lately with the stent they put in and my mom has been calling the doctor and they keep saying it's normal. Well, it wasn't. Last night he had chills, a fever and a lot of pain and bleeding. DH took him to the emergency room and he has a really bad infection. They think kidney, but are doing lots of tests, so we really don't know yet. They are probably finally going to do the kidney stone blasting Monday, depending on the test results and the infection. Poor guy just can't get a break. He broke my heart last night when he basically said he just wants it to be over. :( DH was wonderful with him. Sent my mom home (who was about to have a breakdown) and stayed with him all night.

Chris, I hope at least the rain holds off for the walk. If you are getting our weather, it's not good! It's been cold and rainy the past couple days. What happened to fall? Or summer? I was thinking about your $1000 the other day when the WOWY thing came on the BB DVD I was doing. Very cool purchase!

Kathy, glad you are feeling better. I have a couple Kari Anderson DVDs, but can't remember if I've done them!

Beth, hi! Glad your power is back. What a pain. Ooohh, those new kittens sound adorable. Pictures, please!! I think stormy is a perfect name. How does Gina like them? So glad to hear the chiro was able to figure out the problem with your shoulder. I'm sure it's nice to finally have an answer and a plan!

I think I'm going to go use the treadmill during my lunch. Run off some of my stress. I have this app on my ipod for doing intervals that I read about I think on VF. You can set it up for intervals. You set up the time intervals (one minute fast, then rest for a minute or two, or whatever) and a voice tells you when the time is up. You can use a playlist with it.

Have a good day all. BBL...

Joanne

Joanne, so sorry to hear about your dad! How miserable it must be for him, and so hard for all of you. Very nice that your DH jumped in and stayed with him all night -- that's amazing! I'll send good vibes your way. Hopefully you had a good run to run off some of that stress! Did you get that ipod app for $2 or whatever? Sounded good -- I meant to check it out, but then the power problems.

Chris, yes, I forgot to mention the $1000 prize -- nice to spend it so that everyone can benefit -- bet you guys will have fun with the new system. It's so cool that you won!

Gina and the kittens are not spending too much time in very much contact. They hiss, she freaks, and it's a crazy situation. She's very interested in them, and I don't think she would hurt them, but she wants to play and they are understandably frightened since she seems huge compared to them. I'll try to post pictures but our good camera is broken. :(

Thanks Beth. I guess they are going to do part of the procedure tomorrow and wait for the infection to clear up to do the rest. I'm going to stop by and see him tonight. My mom is feeling bad cause she didn't bring him in sooner. It's not her fault - the doctor kept telling her it was normal. Yes, I did buy that app for $2. I used it on the treadmill today. It was OK, but it was a bit disarming! It's just a voice that yells "go" and "stop" for the times that you set. That's what I expected, but the voice is kind of loud and there's no warning when it's coming.

It's been so quiet here...Hottie, hope you are doing OK. I think you said you didn't have Internet at work anymore. Vilma, hope school is going well.

Time to go...

Joanne

Hey Girls!

After dinner... 15 minutes of quiet...until homework time...

So I went to the work thing. It sucked, mostly. It was a huge room with a bunch of stations that you got updated on different procedures. In a way, I guess it is kind of helpful, but sucks you have to go in on your day off. The best (worst) thing about it was that everyone's station had treats...like Halloween candy miniatures! I love chocolate and Halloween candy! :p

Got home , and ate a banana (that canceled out the bad candy!), and then did 4DS: BC. (that is fun and sweaty!), I put in CTX, and did 2 ab segments from it (never did these before). It was a LOT of upper ab crunches ... I was kind of hurting after I was done. Lastly, I did a VERY much needed Stretchmax, 1st segment. OMG, that felt so good! My lower half is VERY sore today.

Kathy: Hope your weather improved for Chris BB game!

Beth: I kind of figured you lost electricity. That sucks!! That is a TON of rain!!! Was there a lot of flooding issues?...Ahhhhhh!! The kitties must be SOOOO cute!!! I hope youfind a camera!! Funny about them and Gina. I know it took a bit for our first cat to get used to our second one too. ... The chiropracter sounds VERY promising!!..Beth, i did see your email about the walk.

Joanne: Oh that sounds horrible about your father! I'm sorry he's dealing with more health issues, the poor guy. How is he mentally doing with it? What a great thing your husband did, though. that's very nice and sweet he felt comfortable enough to stay with him. ..That treadmill thing sounds funky! But at least you got a run in!!!
