OCT. CHECKIN *** TUES. THE 21st ***

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone!

Hope you all had or are having a good restful sleep.

It's official Autumn is here as I need to keep the heating unit on now.

Anyways I plan on doing a 40 -60 min run today on my TM.

Probably a Cardio Coach - or maybe have Grace holler in my ear?

Hmmm Sean or Grace ? LOL:p Yup more than likely it'll be Sean

I have my youngest home sick :( she was complaining of a sore throat last night so I gave her some motrin and figured it will go away.

This morning she's running a low grade fever and still with the sore throat. She mentioned that her two BFF also were out of school yesterday and told her they had sore throats - they talk constantly on the phone

So I'm going to drown myself in Airborne & Emergen-C today  lol I need to not be sick

Well I have to get moving as I still have ds to take to his school.

Later Chicas

Good Morning Vilma and all to follow!!
kaffeetrinker_2.gif

Oh Vilma, not another sick baby!! Are your kids always so prone to catching bugs? I would definilely go and take some Airborne, or whatever they have out there. You do NOT want to get sick!! Your run sounds great today, hope you get to enjoy it and sweat big

: You are so funny about always making up rotations! Which one did you find? Is it a good one? I really am enjoying this circuit one you did, though I'm subbing for a few workouts as needed, but keeping with the main theme.

Today calls for IMAX3. Not sure what to do. My calf is feeling really good, and I don't want to screw it up. I'm almost thinking of going for a run instead.

I'll let you know!

See you guys later...

Good morning, girls! I did a light total body thing today (slim series), because I'm meeting with the kettlebell trainer later. I think she's not going to work me much today, so I wanted to get something in without being sore! :)

Vilma, my kids are sniffly, too! I'm so ignoring it. :) There's some other stuff I heard advertised on the radio that is claimed to be most endorsed by doctors, or something -- it's some zinc thing -- now I've forgotten it, darn it, and I really meant to remember and get some.

Chris, the rotations are everywhere! They're by my weights, at my desk, and yes, even in my trunk. I did not look at it at all since I was carrying in groceries. Do you want me to work up something -- or do you want to wait and see what Cathe comes up with? I guess it's a little early to be thinking about a November rotation (well, never too early in my book! (-:). I'm still messed up from winging it for that couple of weeks.

I think you should go for a run, Chris -- remember how much you longed to when your toe was messed up? Just take it easy with the calf!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

-Beth

So I ended up doing BM2-- Cardio Blast Premix. I seriously thought about the run, but it started clouding up, and it's COLD here (42). I would love to go if it was sunny, but the cold cloudy thing... naaaaaa!

I probably should have run. My calf tweaked yet again. It just feels tight. I don't limp or anything, it just feels off. I probably should take a month off of STEP, but I don't want ton damnit!!!!

I did enjoy BM2-Cardio Blast though, even with my calf! the blasts are fun! (and sweaty!).

Beth, SOunds like a good plan for today. You'll have to let us know how the KB training goes! What a smart thing to do, just to make sure you don't get an injury whipping that thing around. I didn't realize you were a rotation scribbler! That's cool! I don't have the imagination to do it. I'd end up just copying another format I saw or did. If you feel like it, coming up with a cardio predominant rotation with SOME weight work in it would be great! I'll look around too. I'm on the last week of your Circuit rotation this week! I'll probably just repeat a week next week until the first of November....

Okay then! off to grocery shop, and the bank!! and then going to catch up on some DVR'd TV this afternoon....

Hiya Girls!

I ended up doing CCv5 loved it. Just what I needed today.

I'm a bit peeved at my oldest at the moment as she put plant food in one of our water bottles last night and left it on the counter and guess who drank it? Yup me and my son. We shared the bottle and added it to some airborne. Me I guzzle it down and noticed a tatse and ds was making faces as he drank his... little did I know it had plant food in it

She comes down and asks me where the water bottle was and I told her we drank it then she tells me it had the packet of plant food that comes with the flowers that you'd buy at Walmart - her BF gave her roses last night.

Thankfully the stuff is nontoxic but not recommended for ingestion by humans - ugh!

I'm sitting here praying my son is not feeling sick

Believe me I tore a new one into her!

So now she's avoiding me and my rants.

I told next time label the damn water bottle or take it to her room where the stupid flowers are at - Kids!

My youngest still has a low grade fever and its gone down a bit. Hopefully she'll be fine tomorow to go to school.

Chris glad you had a good cardio but watch that calf!

I don't blame you for not going out for a run when its cold and drab like

Beth I am so thrilled that you are seeing someone about the kbells. The closet one is about 2 1/2 hours from here
306.gif
I just can't see myself driving that distance for that.

So the dvds will have to suffice unless someone comes into the area. Its surprising as we have the base just 15-20 min away

So please let us know how it goes :)

Hi ladies...

Vilma: Oh, goodness!! I hope you are not sick from the plant food. My daughter is also under the weather today with a sore throat and sniffles..I am keeping her home from drawing lessons today. She is complaining about being tired with a little headache. It was worse this morning...

Chris: Oh, I hope your calf is ok!! I would hate to take off step for that long. I so love it. Are you ready to add the running back yet?

Beth: How great! I hope your kettlebell training goes well!!

Checking in today with S&H legs....Hubby is working at home today. So, I am not sure if I will get another chance to check back with everyone. I hope everyone is having a great day...Oh Vilma we had to use a little heat too the last couple of nights. I don't want summer to end!!!

Hello!

Today I did Gay Gasper’s Cardio Step Express (I think that’s the title) and it was good. Can you believe I had that DVD for about 3 yrs now and this is the first time I’ve done it, LOL!!! I’m trying to do DVDs I haven’t done before so you’ll see me working out to different things. I got my HM removed, so now I have to wait and see what happens. My lower back is hurting today. I don’t know if I hurt it yesterday with my workout or because I feel like I’m getting sick (NO).

Chris: Yes, I have all of Dove’s DVDs and so far I’ve done 2 of them and they are GREAT!! A lot of variety. I bought them on Yaya’s. WTG with BM2!! That workout is my favorite!! I love the music on there. Ohh, how is your toe feeling?

Vilma: WTG with CCv5! Sorry to hear your DD is sick. I hope she feels better soon. I think I will take Airborne as well, I forgot I have some and I don’t want to get sick. OH MY GOSH!!! I can’t believe you and your son accidentally drank plant food! I’m glad to hear is non-toxic though.

Beth: Enjoy the workout with the trainer!

Kathy: WTG with S&H.

I’m going to take a shower now before I get DD. I feel like the flu is coming on and I need a hot shower and relax today and take some Airborne. I hope I DON’T get sick!! I need to keep working out! LOL!

BB tomorrow ladies. I’m going to rest for the rest of the day. Tomorrow I have 2 appointments in the AM.

Have a great day!

Hey! I had fun with the kettlebells! Vilma, she had me do two-handed swings only -- that was the whole session. She felt my form was pretty good, but I was using my arms more than I should have. It's too bad you live so far from a trainer, but I'll pass on what I learn and you can see if it makes sense. One thing I was doing wrong was not taking the bell back into my crotch the right way (thus, too much work coming from my arms). She also said that for the most part, there will be bend in your arms, because the hips are providing the force on the upward swing, and so the bell will actually arc back toward your body a bit on the uppermost part of the swing (if your arms are not coming into play -- if you are using your arms, that won't happen so much). She said only really experienced people should have the straight, stiff arms. She also said there's plenty of upper body work on the negative -- that's where it all comes into play. You probably know this by now. The only other thing she really stressed for me is that there is no need to swing high -- especially if the weight is heavy (she had me using 8, 12, and 16 kg, I think were the weights -- and 8 she considered light). Next time we are going to work on one-handed swings. I was pretty happy to hear that my form was good for a beginner, and she also said that if you don't have weight to lose, you should see amazing results in the shoulders and legs in a month to six weeks. How long have you been going, girl? :)

Sorry about the plant food mishap -- that sounds like something that would happen at my house!! I always leave a clean glass next to the water dispenser so that in the morning when I'm working out I can easily get some water. Well, it's pretty dark when I work out, and one morning I realized my husband had used my glass for milk, and there was a little milk left in the glass that I couldn't see. Yum -- not!

Chris, someone posted a generic sort of weight-loss rotation recently that looked interesting to me . I have tweaked it some, because they were taking a day off after 4 and 5 days, and you know that I like to go 8. :) I'll send you something (or post it here) when I'm back home (since it's at that desk). It looked like a fun mix of plenty of cardio, some upper/lower splits, some total body, and circuits.

Kathy, I've forgotten.... which rotation are you doing this month -- is it Cathe's?

-Beth

Beth you are soooo lucky to be able to have a Kettlebell trainer close enough for you to see. I called the base gym today to ask and they didn't even know what I was talking about when I mentioned kettlebells or Russian weights :(

I am so happy for you that she found your form good.

I take that bell way past my crotch area and always tell my self 'snap' sometimes I wonder if I focus too much but I guess it's safer?

How did the 16 kg feel? I will eventually like to get that size - that's my aim anyway.

I've been swinging the bell since the end of September so roughly about 3 1/2 weeks I think . My workout calender is not with me so can't really say for sure but Sept 26th stands out for some reason with the kettlebell.

I gained some weight while I was in my dark cloud  so I'm working on that but I do see some definition in my inner thighs  which I 've never noticed and my butt passes that pencil test :D. Guess its working now I just need to clean up my stupid eating pattern that I've had lately.

Ivy Hiya! Wow you must have lots of workouts to have one thats 3 yrs old and never done lol Good for you!!!

Kathy my dd was complaining of headache also along with the sore throat and fever. Here's hoping your DD gets well soon too.

....

Oh I ended up calling the poison control center here just in case and they told me there was nothing for me to worry about. So thats a big relief, calmed my nerves big time.

Lil one broke her 103.7 degree fever at about 4pm so I'm hoping she stays fever free if not she'll be home for another day or as long as she has that fever. I really hate any of the kids being out of school :(

DH is getting up now so time to spend some time w/ him before he goes to work tonight.

See you all tomorrow

I have close to 180 DVDs:eek:

Ivy, 180! Wow! I thought I had a lot! :)

Vilma, I know about the bad eating -- I don't know what my problem is -- I just can't seem to clean it up. It's cool that you're seeing results so quickly -- I'll bet you'll see them even better if you can manage to clean up the eating part. It's so hard sometimes!

Hope the fever stays down!

Chris, I'll get that rotation posted one of these days.... too much going on here right now.....

-Beth

Hey Guys..
