OCT 08 Weekend 10/25 & 26th Check In

Hi Girls!!

I was going to start the thread earlier, but I'm always afraid of double posting with someone else!

My tough weekend is upon me. My hubby works Saturday AND Sunday, so we have double sitter, and I sleep for crap on Monday, and have to "take charge". And of course, our Sunday sitter called last night and said she's sick. I'm deep breathing, and ended up getting my mom to do Sunday instead. Which will actually be better. And the boys get "grandma" time!

It's going to be ok!!!!!!!!! I also downloaded a relaxation podcast from iTunes, I might chill out later with....

I was going to forego my workout, because of my "list to do" today. but I couldn't . I figured I could at least fit 30 minutes in. And what better 30 minutes than 4DS-KICKBOX! Yeah baby! that's a great sweat, works the legs, works the core, and I'm done!!

So off I go... my drama queen 9 year old is screaming bloody murder....:eek:

Chris! Good luck getting through the weekend -- thank goodness you have the ever-reliable Grandma to call on sometimes!! 4DS kickbox sounds good. I am catching whatever it is my boys have/had, and I thought about staying in bed, but then remembered Ivy doing Imax Extreme when she was not feeling so great. So, I got out of bed, popped a zicam (I think that's what it's called -- the stuff I said is supposed to be great if you start getting a cold -- I'm trying it) on an empty stomach even though it said not to. Well, 8 minutes into ccpp, I had to run for the bathroom because I thought I was going to toss my non-existent cookies! That ended that workout. I may try again later today, but I know that I'm horrible at that. We'll see.

We're off to soccer in a bit..... have a great Saturday everyone. Shouts out to Hottie, Joanne, Randi, Iris -- well, and everyone, but those have been somewhat (or completely) conspicuously absent this week. Hope everything is ok.

Hi Chris and Beth and all to come after!!

Checking in today with Slow & Heavy: Biceps and triceps...I also have been housecleaning. I am getting ready now to take Lauren to Choir Practice at church..

Chris: Hope your weekend goes well. Good thing Grandma is there to pitch in during an emergency!! Good job with your workout..

Beth: Good luck with the soccer!! Do your kids get involved in any other soprts? Mine are into baseball/softball and basketball...Chris keeps asking for football. But, I am not real thrilled about that soprt and all the really roughness of it..I know protective mom!!

Gotta go!! Talk to you later.

Kathy, well, one has bailed out on soccer, and since he's not on a team and I don't feel up to fighting him on it, they are just outside kicking the ball around until game time for the older one. I don't blame you on the football -- there's no interest there from my boys, thankfully. They love to throw around a baseball and try to hit it, but so far no desire to be on a team. They love basketball too. And the older one has shown interest in track -- has run in a couple of local races, etc. They're very active, all the time, basically. :)

Hi Beth and Kathy :)

Nice to see you guys ... I'm hanging in there. I'm really trying. I had one meltdown (no food though). I think I'm trying so hard not to stress, it built up in me, and I ended up blowing up at Zach for asking if I could taxi him around today (already have Alex at a bday party, I have to pick him up).

Beth: OMG.. your whole experience this morning with the workout sounds icky!! Hope you're feeling better for the afternoon. Just rest, girl! ... No pushing! ... Yes, I'm glad my mom is feeling up to watching the boys. We do have to pick her up/drop her off, but that's ok. Worth it! I'm VERY VERY lucky to have her. Me being 45 and her being 84! I thank God every day for my mom!!

Kathy: Sounds like you had a good week with S/H! Good job.. Is this the last week of the rotation or is there another? I just finished the last week of Beth's Rotation, so I think I'll just repeat a week. I really REALLY enjoyed doing circuits and my lower body has been "sore" for 2 months now, so I'm going to lay off of it next month...

My 13 yr old starts Basketball next week. Otherwise, they are just super active around the neighborhood, skateboarding, playing whiffle ball, tag, hide and seek, and whatever crazy kid games they come up. Kind of like when I was a kid :). I love our neighborhood!

..........Yes, Beth, I miss our check in buddies!! Joanne!! Hottie!! Randi!! Lori!! Iris!! Come out come out wherever you are!

Hey Everyone! I'm continuing yesterday's thread since our Sunday traffic is always so light. I did boot camp weights only this morning as a warmup for kettlebells. The BC weights only was a nice little quick workout, I thought, She's got a lot of cardio built into the leg work there.

Ug, I was working on a suggestion for a rotation but my kids keep bugging me and I realized I was putting some circuit work in there and Chris, I think you said you wanted to take it a bit easy, is that right? Let me know what you want -- more total body stuff/circuits, or whatever. The one I was working on had and upper/lower split + a couple of circuits and then cardio mixed in.

We have another sort of busy day. I really need to clean and do laundry, but I'll try to post something later..... (might be much later).

-Beth

Hey Beth!! and the "ghosts" in here! LOL!!

The weights only from BC sounds interesting, Beth! I'm not sure I've ever done it that way before. What a good idea!

Oh! I was thinking about your rotation today! LOL!!!

I wanted more "fat burning" cardio in a new rotation for next month. But want to keep or maybe even build a LITTLE muscle. I'm not looking into taking anything easy! LOL!! ANd I'm still loving circuits. the split sounds good, with a little bit more emphasis on cardio. That's what I was thinking!... I think I may have something saved somewhere , I'll have to look around when I have more time...

Just popping in in the midst of my weekend. My mom did great with the boys today. I think they might have enjoyed each other! !!!

Work sucked though. And I'm dreading going back in and not sleeping tomorrrow after it...

It's only 12 (14) hours!!

~

Chris, I just threw this together pretty quickly -- it's loosely adapted (very adapted) from the generic weight loss rotation I mentioned. I'm not sure it's quite what you want -- I won't be offended at all if you don't use it, but it's an idea or something you can tweak......
