Today I have a 40-60m TM run just not sure which it'll be until I pick up my ipod :p

Good Morning, Vilma!

I slept as well as can be expected. Had a NICE stretch from 12:15 to 4:45! It felt wonderful!

Today I have IMAX2 On Tap!!!

Hope my toe and calf hold out!

Funny thing happened last night. I got a call from Kathy Smith's publicist. He said that Good Housekeeping contacted Kathy and asked if she knew of any people for their story on losing weight with fitness at home. So he contacted me! Going to send in my story,and I might be in the magazine! Cool, huh?
It's weird, because I hardly do Kathy Smith anymore. So i feel a little awkward. I do do her Pilates sometimes, and I like her Project: YOU weight & circuit work. But the others were more my first few years of working out and actively losing weight...

Okay.. Off to wake Jake ... he's sleeping in today!

Hello all!!!

I am going to try to sneak back into the check-in if you don't mind. :) I have been very unfocused and undisciplined with my workouts lately. The month of September was a hard adjustment. With the kiddos being back in school, and me running them around all day long, I am having a hard time figuring out when to do my workouts. I have still been working out, just not to the intensity that I had been previously. I am starting afresh with Cathe's October rotation and I am hoping some accountability here will help me focus!

Today I have S&H Chest and Back on tap. I did the "you have been a bad girl and haven't worked out in a while" punishment workout on Sunday. I did CCV4 followed by S&H legs. My legs are STILL sore. KPC yesterday was an event to say the least.

Vilma, what workout did you decide on?

Today's workout will be Step Works...Can't remember the last time I did that one. The older ones are harder to remember until I do them...

Good morning! I did the 40 minute Lauren kettlebell workout this morning -- not really the calorie burner I'd hoped for. I think it's still going to take me a while to figure out how to fit in kettlebells -- it definitely feels like way more of a lower body workout to me than total body -- I feel like I get almost no upper body work. But, it was fun!

Becca, welcome back. It's hard to get back into the groove of school, isn't it? Is there any way you can wake up early and work out then? It's the only way I can get it in.

Chris, very cool about the Kathy Smith call -- definitely keep us informed. Glad you had a stretch of sleep. :)

Kathy, hope you had fun with Step Works -- I don't have that one....

Got through IMAX2!!
I did 99% of it. Some moves I didn't jump as high. Or modified, but still jumped. I can't do the Plie Jacks (hurts the toe), so I just jump up without trying to click my heals. Of course, my calf tweaked a little, but no pain. It was a blast though! LOVE it and love getting through it!

Becca: Welcome back! I wondered what had happened to you.. Missed ya! I actually have it easier with my boys all in school, with workouts. It's nice to be able to do one uninterupted and without fights in the background! . I'm doing a rotation this month that Beth made up. I wanted to add in more cardio than Cathe had in her OCT 08 Rotation, so I stayed with beth's. I have actually met kathy smith before. She flew me and my husband to LA to be in her commercial for PROJECT: You. I used to post on an iVillage site back then, and she would answer questions similar to what Cathe does here. And that's how I "met" her initially. It was pretty cool all around. I went to her house in Santa Monica, and we shot the commercial there. I borrowed her workout clothes (!!) and her make-up girl did me up in her BATHROOM! So she or her publicist have contacted me on and off since then . (about 4 years ago).


Kathy: A BUNCH of the oldies , but goodies this week! I have Step Works, but I don't think I've ever done it? Have fun!!

Beth: I don't think I'm sold on the kettleball quite yet. I mean it sounds like a good change up, but probably doesn't do MORE than Cathe weight workouts now, does it? Do you think it's more intense or harder? Though lower body is GOOD to work!!

Time for my snack and then off to grocery shop. Tonight and tomorrow night are the boys' Open Houses for elementary school. It will be fun to meet their teachers and see their classrooms. They get so excited !

Kathy, I think i have Step Works on for Friday. I haven't done that one yet. I'll have to preview it before I do it. How are you liking the rotation so far?

Beth, Ideally, getting up early would be the best thing to do, but I have a hard time getting out of bed.

Also, I am curious to hear how the kettlebells work for you. I keep debating about them and I'm not sold on them yet. I preordered STS so I think I will limit my equipment purchases to what I need for that.

Chris, very cool about Kathy Smith. What a great experience for you! And you went to her house and wore her clothes.

How neat! Good job on Imax2 with modifications. I was hoping once my kiddos were in school in would be easier to work out, but my 5 year old has afternoon kindergarten and my 4 year olds have morning preschool. I am running like crazy! Plus I have a middle schooler who is involved in football, choir and we have church activities.

Re: kettlebells..... keep in mind that I've done only two workouts and one practice session with them, so this is all still brand new to me..... but what I've felt so far is that it works your lower body in a way that's completely different, and there's definitely a cardio factor. But like I said in my previous post, I don't really see how the upper body is going to get worked like it does with Cathe. This morning I did what was supposedly an overall sculpting thing, and there were just a couple of different things that felt they worked my upper body. FWIW......

way to go on imax 2, Chris -- you must be feeling great that you could do that much!

Hi All!

Finally back home with some time to actually sit and breathe before I have to run out again.

I ended up doing a CCmish mosh with Volumes 1 & 2 combined for a nice 50 min interval run.

Wow I felt so great but couldn't relish my endorphin rush as I had tons to do so I jumped in the shower and into the dreaded rental car with wet sopping hair.

Oh My Gosh! You are rocking out some of Cathe's older but goodie step workouts! Hope you have a good sweatfest.

Beth what weight are you using for the kettlebells? I did Lauren's yesterday and I was up there with my HR and did get a good sweat in plus I have Doms in my lats and lower body today. Her workout is fun but I end up doing the Russian twists 2 more times than her once over. Those twists get in there good. Love em

Hi everyone...

Step works is done as well as the stability ball abs from butts & gutts..I enjoyed this workout. It has been a while since I've done this one. But, it was great. I used the 8" up until the last segment where she reccommends lowering and I did..


Becca: I am liking this rotation alot. Just enough strength mixed with cardio. I was adding cardio to the first week where there was a few days of just the s&h workouts. I will probably do that the last week too with the s&h back there again..

Chris: Great job getting Imax 2 done with that toe!!

Beth: I am enjoying doing workouts I haven't done for a while..Still thinking about those kettlebells that you and Vilma are tackling!!

Ok, gotta go get Lauren to drawing lessons and then Chris and I are going to the grocery store. The kids are bringing in canned foods to stock up the food pantry at church. CCD classes were asked to bring them in tomorrow. We usually try to bring in when I can remember...

Sorry guys...I've had such a $hitty day so far I'm not even sure if I should bother venting about it. But I will say that I got through LIC though it was pretty crappy for me. And for whatever reason, HARD. My HR was wayyy too high than it should have been for longer than I expected. I do LIC on an 8inch step and its difficult for the first 10 minutes and then my body adjusts. Man, it put me in a pissier mood because LIC is one of my favorite workouts and I felt like crap during and after it. I just want to scream!

Vilma - I'm glad you had a good run though incredibly jealous of your endorphin rush.
Chris - WTG on Imax2...I have a hard time with the plie jumps. I think I'm just doing them wrong.
