I just had to tell everyone I know. I just got the results of the New York State Real Estate Exam in the mail today and I passed!!! Yipee. Now I can relax and enjoy the holidays!

Woooo hoooo!! I am so excited for you!! I finish my class Dec.15 with a test and then I am off to Sprinfield, Illinois for my test (I have to pass the class test first) LOL!! So, how bad was the test?? Do you already have a broker?
 
Hi Sabrina - Yes, I do have a broker. I'm actually doing marketing and web design/development for two brokers now, so I had an "in" with a broker.

I first had to pass a 100 question class test to be elibible to take the State test, which was 50 questions. The class test wasn't really too bad. Everyone around here says the State test is easier than the class test. I wouldn't really say that, but maybe it's because I was so nervous.

I really studied hard. If you study, you'll do fine. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks Margaret! I will let you know. I was told that I might have a problem getting the Sprinfield test in before the end of the year. I hope not. I am nervous enough already.

That is great that you have a broker already. I do too. Let me know how things go for you!
 
Congratulations, Margaret. Did you see the recent NY Times article regarding brokers in NY? Interesting. It was saying that the listings these days seem to be concentrated in the hands of a few big stars. One of my clients is one of those big stars, and she makes a fortune. But she works very hard.
 
Boy--I would love to own a home along the Hudson. We stayed in a lovely, historic B&B for my 50th birthday and had the best time. It's so beautiful--there's so much to see and do. I love it! What do homes sell for around there?

Thanks, Nancy. I did not see the NY Times article, but I do marketing and web maintenance for one of those "stars" and she does extremely well financially. She works very hard and spends dollars wisely on marketing.
