hi-- just reading this book and find some of it pretty interesting--- has anyone tried the workout--- it makes sense to me about not wasting time on kickbacks and bi curls --- the premise it to use exercises that incorporate small muscles-not to isolate.

I have read it, interesting stuff. I think the kettlebells are kinda like this, you are focusing on the body as a whole, not doing little movements like the kickbacks. Although I feel there is room for everything in a well rounded workout program.

I started NROL4W with (some) running in April and went through stage 4 with no beaks. (not recommended) I just stopped for a break last week and went to KettleBell and Cathe and running workouts.

The program is definitely worth trying IMO especially if you have been isolating muscle groups for a long time. I have been doing Cathe weight work exclusively for 10 years, and I felt a change would do me good. I will most likely go back to NROL4W. I am interested in doing stage 7 (cutting)

If you are an advanced Catheite, I recommend you go a little heavier to start with. I found the first stage easy because I probably started to light. If you expect noticeable results, it is important to follow the nutrition recommendations as well as the workouts.

Let us know if you do it. There is an Alwyn Cosgrove Check in over at the check in forum. it is for anyone doing Alwyn workouts, P90X & Kettle Bells.

It sounds really interesting. Do the workout routines allow for flexibility in terms of the amount of time spent? Some days I'm lucky to have 20 mins. to spend on working out. Thanks for any info on this.

Nancy- The NROL4W method suggests no more than 3 workouts per week and then any other cardio is by choice. I was happy to do my cardio many times on NROL4W workout days and then have extra days off. Some stages have interval training cardio as part of the workout. I found plan to be flexible. (more flexible than most rotations) And a doing only two NROL4W workouts per week is also fine as stated in the book. At the very least, I recommend you get the book and read it.

There is a NROL4W discussion forum at JPFitness forums
