It's not as bad as it sounds, this type of thing goes on all the time.

Under normal circumstances, taking off in the heart of the summer in a resort town is next to impossible. Here where I work, we are like a family, I have never been denied a request for time off in all of the years I've been here (6), no matter what time of the year it is, no matter the reason.

In return for that, the occasional double shift is the least I can do, especially when I can spend part of my work day on an oceanfront porch with a cordless phone, taking hotel reservations....:7

Hi Jerry! It sounds like we have similar work environments. I, too, get to make reservations, though for a time share, while looking out into the Gulf of Mexico. It's a rough existence, isn't it? :+

And the small group of people I work with are like family, and we always figure out a way for everyone to take vacation when they want to. It's quite nice...
