Now a question about my PDA

OK, I mentioned in my tax question that I ordered a Dell handheld with wireless Internet capabilities. Do you have to subscribe to a wireless internet service? I'm so clueless with these handhelds! Who is a good service provider if I need one?

I woke up in the middle of the night with "buyer's remorse" about ordering the PDA. I came to the library this morning to cancel the order online (my PC is still at the doctor), but alas...the order shipped yesterday. Guess it's just meant to be that I get it. Oh well...I have interest-free financing with Dell.

Yes, unfortunately, you do have to subscribe to a wireless internet service. Is it a phone and a PDA? That's what I have, and I use T-mobile because I can get unlimited wireless internet access for $20/month. T-mobile doesn't have as wide a coverage area as Verizon, but it's cheaper and I've had really good experiences with their customer services people.

Don't know if the providers are different if it's not a phone--sorry, wish I could be more helpful on that.

By the way, I am totally addicted to wireless internet access now.

Well depends on what you what. If you want access all the time yes, if not, just get a wireless router for home, and you got home wireless access. Most hotels etc, have free wireless access so if you travel it's pretty easy to find a spot. And any wi fi coffee shop will give you access as well if you order something to drink. This is what I do, as I hate to waste my money on wireless net access when it doesn't have all spots covered, and it's free at the motels and only a few dollars at the coffee shop.
