Hi ladies..

Getting our thread started...

Yesterday I did the interval xtreme off the terminator DVD. That was a great workout. Another cardio today as soon as I figure out what it will be...

Hey Kathy!
Hey All!

I'm about to go downstairs to do STS DISC 20: Legs. My calf feels better today (but still *there*) , I hope this doesn't aggravate it

I have to take Kiwi for his Lion's Cut today, and then Jake for his physical as soon as he gets home from school. Busy, in and out, day. My dilemma is thinking of something quick-ish I can make for supper with ground turkey when we get home from the Pediatrician's......

Kathy: Was the Interval Extreme lowmax and IM3? I loved that one when I did it!

to Beth , Joanne and Hottie! And Vilma, if you're out there!!!

Good morning! Great workout, Kathy! Chris, be careful with your calf!!

I ended up doing KCM's 30 minutes weights a total body mix. It was a good workout, but kind of depressing that on the bi/tri/shoulder mix I was mostly at beginner weights!! I did do tricep kickbacks with 12 pounds on one round (that was the "not mostly" beginner part for me! :D). For whatever reason, I just didn't feel like doing ME or Lalo this morning. Of course I also did my 200 swings and chiro exercises. The swings were mentally tough this morning! And, I'm going to the chiro today and want to find out if I have to keep doing these daily for the rest of my life! It's getting a bit old..... oh, I did 60 pushups though! (in rounds of 10) I did them on my bench, so I am getting more toward horizontal. I don't know if it's my form (or lack thereof), or what, but I feel like I work my shoulders more when I'm less horizontal.

Chris, what about turkey burgers? Would your kids eat chili? Tacos? Just brainstorming here......

My conferences went pretty well -- no surprises and that's always a good thing! :)

Have a great day.......

Hi ladies. GS Legs for me today. You know, it wasn't that hard. I'd say B&G and Leaner Legs are tougher. Although the floor work is harder than the standing, I think.

Beth, good luck at the chiro today! Hope he gives you the all clear to stop the exercises. But, it's good to know what to do in case an similar injury comes up again. 60 pushups? That's pretty impressive!

Chris, be careful with that calf. You have to post pictures of Kiwi after his cut. I think I remember you posting pictures last time - they were cute! Or, I'm remembering something else! I had this recipe for turkey gyros that used ground turkey a few years ago that was really good. I don't have it here at work - so that doesn't help you much!! But, if you're interested, maybe there's something on allrecipes.com.

Kathy, I'm supposed to do Imax2 tomorrow - maybe I'll try that terminator DVD. Mmmm...decisions.

Well, my dad isn't doing too well. Now he's having stomach issues. They did some GI test yesterday and some xrays late last night. My mom's going to the hospital now - we haven't heard the results of those yet. He's having another test on his bladder today, too. I saw him Monday and he just doesn't look good. I feel so bad for him - he's just suffering and no one can seem to figure anything out. He can't keep anything down now. It's going on six weeks in the hospital. I wonder if he'll ever get out of there. He still has his sense of humor - he told the nurses they should name a wing after him - he's been there long enough to pay for one! Anyway, just venting...

Waves to everyone else!

Joanne

Hi ladies...

I ended up doing a FIRM workout which wasn't too intense. But, It was great for recovery week....Getting ready to take the kids to PE class...

Chris: No, the workout I did was a cardio from Cardio & weights followed by 2 segments of IMAX 2 and then repeat. It was great..I am always trying to find quick and different meals for dinner. Hope you find something...

Beth: I make tacos, burgers and chili with turkey meat all the time. Great suggestions! Wow, great job with those pushups. I really don't like pushups. I think it is because I have never really been strong in the upper body. And those really push those muscles to the extreme! Hope you get good news from the chiro! Beginner shoulder work better then no shoulder work. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi everyone else to come..Gotta get some lunch and the kids ready..We are going to hit the library today too...

HI Joanne: Missed your post while I was posting!! GS legs: Good job!! I hope they find something to ease your dad's pain and get him better soon. That is a long time to be there. I will keep him in my prayers...

hey girls!

I did do DISC 20, actually my calf tolerated it pretty well. No pulls. I did NOT do the calf work at the end. I did do the first segment of TBS. That is THE perfect stretch for lower body after lower body weight work. In fact, it's ALL lower body stretches. Loved it!

Oh , and I found the remote!!! I'm excited, I'll probably do Round 31 tomorrow from Turbo Kick. If I can hold myself back from doing a run...:eek::eek:

Kiwi got his haircut!!! I'll add a picture (i posted some on FB too!)

Beth: WTG on the 30 minute total body work!!! I bet you lost SOME strength gains on upper body, but you'll get it back in NO time, i'm SURE of it!! Go slow!! OMG, 60 push ups!?!? that's awesome! I'm with Kathy. No upper body strength for those things. I do them all on my knees. And is it bad that I don't CARE that I can't do them on my toes? I have no motivation to "learn" to do them on my toes. I'm perfectly happy on my knees. ! LOL!.... I made chili last night. I think I may do something with spaghetti and alfredo sauce. ...

Joanne: on GS legs, and it being EASY!(ier). There's ball work at the end, isn't there. . ....

Sorry to hear about your dad. How horribly frustrating. I will also keep him in my prayers. Maybe the medications they're giving him is causing his tummy troubles? I bet the nurses love him there. I know I have patients that are so sweet and even though I want them to get better, I love having them. I have a particular soft spot for older men. Even if they're a little grumpy. Love them!

Kathy: So it's ALL intervals, no weights? That sounds like a ton of fun! I want to do it!! (no step, no step no step... stay away from the step, Chris!).

I'm procrastinating vacuuming and making beds. I'm having T-Day dinner next week here, and I have so much cleaning/organizing to do, it's not funny. But here I sit and type! LOL!

Kiwi, after the cut:

Samantha (fat cat) is in the background. She is SO ladylike. She just looked at him for about 5 minutes, and blinked her eyes, and turned away. ("Whatever. Glad it wasn't me"). Kiwi is such a goof!! I swear he licked himself for 15 minutes , so happy he wasn't getting a mouthful of fur!

Chris, OMG - love the pics!!! Those green eyes are intense! Too funny about your other cat. Isn't that a cat's usual attitude - yeah, whatever?! Yeah, you're cool, but let me just keep looking out this window. ;) Woo hoo on the remote!! Oh yes, that dang ball work. That was tough. Roll outs are no fun. My dad is on so many medications it's crazy. They did see something on the GI test they did - they said something is blocking him from digesting his food all the way. Not sure what they saw on the xrays, but now they are doing a cat scan of his stomach. They moved the bladder scope till tomorrow.

Kathy, I think I've done that premix before, I think I'll do it tomorrow.

Joanne, sending big hugs your way -- sorry your dad is not doing well. Six weeks in the hospital?! I knew it had been a while, but I wouldn't have guessed that long!

And those gyros -- that was a Rachel Ray recipe, right? I made those once and thought they were great!

Thanks for all the encouragement, guys. The chiro said I should keep doing their exercises for another month or so, and then after that do them periodically (once a week say) just to keep the form good. Really, the exercises were all about teaching me better form, and I have to say they really worked. I think I'm getting much more out of my pushups now, for instance.

Nice that your calf didn't bother you, Chris! I think it was very smart of you to skip the calf work. Honestly, why do we need to work our calves anyway? 1/2 ;)

Hope Hottie is ok -- haven't heard from her in a while. I have been thinking about Vilma with the New Moon release tomorrow! Wonder if she's going to make it to the midnight show this time!

Chris: Too funny!!! Is the other cat hiding so you won't do that to them? HAHA Oh and that workout did have some weights. I used really light 3 pounds since I am on recovery week!!

JOanne: Enjoy that workout tomorrow. I liked it..

Beth: Hey that is great news about getting better form. That will be so beneficial..

Ok, time for dinner. Then we are headed to church for a confirmation prepatory meeting for Lauren...

Talk to you later..
