Good Morning!

Today is cardio day for me. Step Blast is on the rotation, which I'd LOVE to do, but then again, the sun is out NOW (albiet a little cold , 38 degrees!), but I bet it would feel good to run! I do have some DOMS in my leg, mostly my butTOCKS, but not horrible , where I can't sit. Unless, that is something that will get worse.

Decisions, Decisions!

I'd also like to do an ab workout of some sort.

I'm dreading this afternoon, I'm taking Alex and Jake to the town clinic for H1N1 Flu shots. Only 300 shots available. It's going to be crazy! But I really want to try. PLUS, not sure if you remember, Jake isn't going to sit still for the shot. He was already telling me he was dreading it.

Joanne
: I thought the picture of Jameson and his costume was VERY scary! My boys would LOVE that!!!

Kathy: Enjoy your CTX workout today! I'm going to do some sort of Abs too. Haven't done Stability Ball Abs from Abs Circuit in forEVER, maybe I'll try it!

Hottie
: I admire you for putting all that effort and fighting for you and Joe! You keep going! You guys are worth it!!!

You know, reading everyone's postings yesterday about fighting and kids. It reminds me when I was little, I do remember a few VERY BAD fights that my parents got into. No hitting or abuse, but lots of yelling. One was very tramatic, (to me), because it happened when we were supposed to go get ice cream, and we had to leave. (We never made it out of the car). I think then my worst fear was that my parents would divorce. That would have been the worst thing for me, ever. THey stuck it out though and now, as an adult, I see things so differently. I admire them for staying together and working things out. And I do believe in the long run of things, it's important for kids to see us fighting sometimes , and seeing us resolve our fights and make up. It's life, it's what happens.

Very deep this morning! SHould get out for my run !!!

BBL!

Good morning! Wow, 38 degrees! You wouldn't catch me going out for a run! Kathy, I'm curious as to what cardio sections you put together -- that CTX is very underutilized in this household!! I like premixes. I know, I'm so lazy!!!

Yes, Chris, that's deep for so early in the morning, but I think you're right. The other odd thing is how seemingly random things effect a kid way more, or not, you know what I mean?

Good luck with the flu shot madness! I do remember the awful experience you had last time. I am so lame -- still haven't gotten my kids the regular flu shot yet even! I tell you, walgreen's screwed me up. I did get them dentist appointments finally though! And, I scored appts. for next Wed. when they are out of school. Had to change my chiro appt. to accomodate, but I really wanted to make that happen.

I did Jillian's NMTZ this morning, subbing my PT exercises where needed. I'm back to a boatload of pushups (not flat on the ground, but on a counter) and she changed my form and I really feel them in a different way! Way harder to cheat now. And I did some tricep pushups as well. Oh, and yes, added on my 200 kbell swings. It was a good workout!

On to fun and games......

quick fly by as I have the marathon experiment again. I hate hate hate the scale but I keep on telling myself its the normal bloating weight I get before my period. I'm bringing my gym bag to work but I have no idea how I'll ever fit in the time for it...

Hi ladies. We did get a bit deep last night, huh?! I really don't talk about this stuff with anyone else, so it's nice to have you all here to "talk" to.

Chris, I think it's OK for kids to see their parents fighting if it's done in a healthy way and they work it out. It's funny the things that stick with us - having to miss the ice cream. Hope you make it out for that run! I think 38 degrees is perfect for a run! Hopefully you can get those shots. Our school is supposed to give them to the kids next week. Either DH or I, depending on the day, will go to school to be there when Caitlyn gets it. It was a struggle to get her to sit still for the regular flu shot.

Kathy, you're always reminding me about how many great workouts I have that I never do! CTX is fun.

Beth, sounds like you're doing great with your shoulder. We did get the regular flu shots. I guess I should call me doctor to see if I can get the H1N1. I don't even know if they have it.

Hey Hottie. I'm hating the scale, too. :( Hope your experiment goes well and you can get to the gym.

No workout this morning. Still not feeling great and I didn't want to push it. Ian is home today with a sore throat, fever and nasty cough. The doctor doesn't want to see him - said they are too busy and to just watch him. I'm having flashbacks to Jameson's pneumonia - that's exactly what they said about him. At least they are open on Saturday - if he's not any better by then, I'll insist on bringing him in.

Off to eat lunch...

Joanne

Hey Again!

I did go for my run, for 48 minutes! Did a few hills, up and down the duck pond steps, and then a good stretch! Felt really good (though my legs were a bit sore) , amazed at how a cloudy & cool day can seem so glorious when I'm getting my runner's high! The clouds seemed like a painting in the sky! Crazy, huh? It was a little cold in the beginning, but felt great after I got warmed up.

I went to the grocery store and then home and did Abs Circuit Stability Ball (thanks , Kathy for the idea!). I LIKED it alot! I mean , the one-legged pikes & ski moves were not happening, but other than that, I did it all!

I know about CTX. Maybe I'll do one of those on Saturday for a shorter cardio. Let us know what you do today, Kathy!

Beth: I know, it's true about the random things effecting kids.Who the heck knows anymore! I think sometimes we worry too much too. Unless there's violence or excessive fighting, I think kids turn out ok. (I did, well, mostly!). I just read this article on how they were re-releasing the original Sesame Streets (for their 40th anniversary) and they were putting a disclaimer on it that it was "only for adult entertainment. not for teaching young children". Because they showed Cookie Monster eating cookies ALL the time (now they emphasize cookies are an 'ok' once in a while snack). Or that kids were riding their bikes without helmets! We all survived. I do not believe Sesame Street broke me or made me have chocolate/cookie binges!..... WOOHOO on the Jillian workout today, Beth!!!! Good for you for getting push ups back in ! I'm excited for you!!!

Hottie: Good luck on your experiment today! hope it goes better than you're expecting and quicker! OMG, don't weigh yourself before TOM!!! You crazy girl!!!

Joanne: You're right in not working out today. Don't push it, because it will only back track you. Oh no! Hope Ian is ok! I totally understand how you'd be anxious. That's how I was this last time Jake got sick, I kept thinking he was going to get pneumonia again (though it wasn't even 1/2 as bad as Jameson's!!).

Now my turn to eat, and watch Nip/Tuck that I fell asleep on watching last night! I could not believe the size of that woman's boobs though! Did you guys see it? How she crushed a Jack O Lantern with them? Only on Nip/Tuck, I swear!!!

Chris, isn't Nip/Tuck just the weirdest show?? I'm one or two episodes behind, so I've yet to see the jack-o-lantern crushing boobs! ;) That's one show that the kids have to be out of the house or sound asleep to watch. Great job on the run - I'm jealous!! I know, it's best not to workout until I'm better, but I'm feeling like such a slacker lately. Yea - I don't think the Cookie Monster is responsible for my sweets obsession either. ;) It's cause they taste so darn good!

I'm feeling really jumpy from the cold medicine I took. It was just Mucinex DM, but I hate this feeling.

Back to work...

Joanne

Joanne, sure hope everyone in your house is healthier very soon!! I'll also second that not working out is a good call!

Chris, that's really funny about sesame st.! I'm apparently too old for that show and got my sweet tooth from someone other than the cookie monster! I started watching Nip/Tuck when it was in its first season (and we had cable). Larry couldn't handle the operating room scenes, so we pretty quickly dropped it, but I know enough to completely understand Joanne's comment about the kids being out of the house to watch it! :D

I have to have lunch and do some errands!

HI everyone..

Finished up with my workout...I did different CTX workouts: warmup and cardio section on Power Circuits, the cardio on 10-10-10 and the cardio and ab section of all step...It was about an hour on the cardio and then the abs..I decided to sub the stability ball abs. That one is tough and I figured I already had that DVD on might as well do those abs. An ab workout is an ab workout..

Ok, gotta get some things done around here. I have my crockpot going with some beef stew for dinner and it smells wonderful! Now all I gotta do is make some biscuits and I am set for dinner...

super quick fly by...I can't believe I only have less than half the day left! But I'll be glad when its done. No workout...if it happens its when I get home. But productive evening and for the first time something looks like the way I *predicted* it...now that I've said it, I'm jinxed and will never be able to reproduce this result. but at least I got something!

Oh, and cookie monster did not shape me. Garfield did. COMPLETELY. Have you ever THOUGHT about some of the sarcastic mean things that come out of his mouth? All him, into me.
