Good morning ladies...

Getting us started this morning...

Workout for me today is CST Disc 22....Last week of Meso 2!!!

Ok, be back later!!

Hi Kathy, and all! Happy Monday, I guess! :D

I thought you were nearing meso 3, Kathy..... I still am scratching off my STS workouts from my calendar!

I did Jari's R&C this morning -- had it from netflix and had heard so many people saying it did great things for their upper body. I really do not understand the people who say Cathe reps them to death -- they have obviously never done a Jari workout! Now those are reps! I remember I got this once before from netflix and I just couldn't get past the first few minutes because it seemed like another boring Jari. I stuck with it this time and I'm feeling nicely worked. I did chest presses for the first time since August -- granted, with 5 pound weights! -- but I'm back.

Gotta dash this morning..... I'm trying to go sugar "free" (not milk, certainly, and I'm not even sure I can give up fruit) -- we'll see how long I can make it!

Hey Beth: Good luck on your quest to stay sugar free. My goal is to cut down on alot of carbs while I limit too much junk..It has been hard with Halloween candy around...

Ok, checking back with Disc 22 done and I ran a mile with Lauren and walk 3/4 mile to cool down..Great workout. Now, time for a shower, lunch and later this afternoon CCD...

Hi all!! Caitlyn is home today, but she seems to be doing fine. She's been writing out her Christmas list all morning. It's grown from six items to about 20. ;) I won't have a problem finding things to get for her. Now she wants me to take her out to lunch. I told her no, she's home sick and now she wants me to go to Costco to get her a smoothie. She's sitting on the couch forcing the tears to make me feel guilty.

Yeah - I started my rotation today with Butts and Guts. Finished the whole thing, even the planks! I was tough and I'm glad I'm home today since I needed a nap afterwards. :)

Beth, sounds like your shoulder is OK now? Those Jari workouts are tough. I like her newest one. Good for you for trying no sugar!

Off to make Caitlyn some lunch....

Joanne

Joanne: Glad Caitlyn isn't too sick..Trying to con mom into lunch and smoothies is a good healthy sign..right?! Butts & gutts is a tough one. My glutes especially feel that one the next day and those firewalkers. I love them and they work so well..Have a good day with Caityln..

Hey Girls!

Going to go start MESO 2, WEEK #3 Chest Shoulders and Triceps now.

I ended up going for my H1N1 Flu shot this morning at the hospital's health service. They told me I had to get the Nasal Mist. I almost didn't, but in the end, since I was there , I did. I've been having sinus symptoms since my excrutiating headache last week. (nasal drip) and told the lady there. She said it didn't matter. So I snorted the crap, and now have this weird headache. Not BAD, but it's there. I wish I didn't get it. I feel like I've been poisoned!

I hope my workout makes me feel better....

BBL to catch up with you guys....

Man, time is just slipping away from me!

Ok, so what did I do? Stayed at home in the morning and did some chores before trying to make up for the eating fest and lack of workout yesterday. So, I did the BM2 Timesaver cardio premix...at the end of it I was sort of feeling -- WHAT WAS I THINKING since I was feeling so slugging...AND started setting up for STS Disc 22. Woot! At first I was like, if I don't feel up to it, don't do it but the energy came. I will never do a serious cardio workout before a STS Legs workout though. I really liked it today. Some of my 1RM calculations were spot on, and some were totally off. Oh, and the tricep work in the end. I think I went too heavy on the first tricep exercise...failing too early in the sets and losing my form. I had ended that set thinking that I had not worked my tris that well at all to find that I completely buckled even with my knees on the ground for tricep pushups. So something worked. Now I'm at work doing a little of everything as well. I'm in a bit of a if I don't stop and think about what I'm doing next I'll be screwed in a week phase. I'm trying to start off the week right. I had a very good and healthy breakfast filled with vitamins and orange juice and fiber etc. I'm going to have a small lunch soon and tonight we're having salmon that JOE is going to cook (I'm not sure if its being grilled or not but all I know is that I'm not cooking!).

And now I totally can't remember all the witty and insightful things to say from the weekend!

Kathy -- what did you think of Disc 22!? How many tricep pushups could you do? And lord, how many pushups can Cathe do at the beginning of the w/o?!? I literally said, "show off" outloud!

Beth -- I'll be honest, Jari Love scares me. She just does. I don't want to pick up her DVDs because she looks scary. That makes me superficial I know, but I can't help myself! Oh and I forgot from the weekend -- I find that a lot of my "yoga apparel" doesn't last as long for cardio workouts nor does it breathe as well. I get more holes in them quicker than stuff a bit more made for cardio. And I can wear that cami top for yoga but I'd have to put another sports bra underneath for anything of real impact as my chest is way too big for that little support. I can certainly do that but the cuteness does go away. And next time buy me the chiminea too! That's an awesome price!

Joanne -- great to hear that Caitlyn is doing better! If she can force guilt tears she can go to school though! You know, there's this guy in my lab that didn't believe me that women can fake tears on the spot? I said it was part of ending puberty and that all women could do it. It's a survival mechanism that came out of the natural evolution process. That's awesome on B&G. I've never finished it completely as it usually breaks my butt early on.

Chris -- well, I hope this STS disc cures this headache as well! I hope Joe and I don't get the flu again. That cold was super annoying and I just don't want to deal with the flu until after the holidays. I *will* get it but I don't want to get it NOW, you know?'

Ok, my samples have thawed so I have to set up the next part...bbl.

Caitlyn settled for a grilled cheese sandwich. Oh yes, she'll be going to school tomorrow, the little stinker! I'm really glad she's OK, though. Now she's playing on barbie.com. I'm not feeling so great, though. Every time I think I have this cold beat, I end up feeling crappy again. Ugh!!

Hottie, wow, great workout today!! You machine! Tricep pushups are evil!

Chris, I'm kind of leery of the nasal mist, too. The "weakened" virus part scares me. DH got it at work the other night and came home in the morning sneezing. I'm like, stop that - you're spraying weakened swine flu all over! I guess (hope) it must be safe and effective. I need to look into getting the shot myself, but have to wait till I'm healthy.

Got my cat scan results and it seems to be normal. I have to follow up again in six months.

Oh, gotta run and pick up Colin...

Joanne

Chris, I think it's so bizarre they gave you the mist when they are so careful not to give it to a kid who has the slightest nose thing going on (or not even, sometimes!)! I'm sorry it made you feel so awful.

Joanne, also sorry to hear you're feeling bad again. I think I am maybe really getting it now -- I've been pretty fuzzy all day! Also freezing when others weren't. Dylan's been coughing, too. Sure hope I can still get them to the dentist Wednesday!

Hottie, Jari is very scary looking, and I hate her sets, some of her background exercisers bug me, her music is pretty lame, and what really bugs me sometimes is her form! But, you know.... I just have to give anything a go, it seems. It was a good workout and I have to admit that her later dvds are definitely improving.

How's your experiment? You're getting so close!

No sweets for me today! So far, so good.

gotta run back to school to pick up Travis from a meeting......

Hey again!

I'm definitely feeling crappy from that Flu Mist. My head has been feeling off all afternoon, plus I feel soo much more fatigued than I usually do. I do hope it all goes away and I'm fine tomorrow! I have to admit, I did like that I didn't have to get a needle (painful) in my arm. But the mist felt like I had poison in me, I swear. I could feel it dripping in the back of my throat and , just , ewwww. I won't get that again. I should have refused. They said the shot was reserved for those with underlying illness and those over 50. I should have said I was 51.

And I'm actually on MESO 2, WEEK #2, not 3. I was getting ahead of myself. These are back off sets. I really felt I pushed hard on chest. Shoulders, not so much , but triceps were tough too.

Kathy: Hope you had a good STS day, nice that you got to run too!

Beth: I do have one of Jari's workouts (got it for pennies at the grocery store once!). i did it once. I think it's the original "Ripped". It was ok, but she just didn't grab me as an instructor, and I don't think I'd buy anything from her. Netflix is cool , though. Good deal you got to try it out! I'm excited to hear you're starting chest work with weights, and going slow. The "sugar free" deal sounds cool too. You read about this in a thread somewhere? .... From yesterday, about the oxygen thing, I agree with Joanne. I think you have to have a perscription from the doctor for home oxygen. Plus it's a huge fire/explosion hazard. I'd be kind of scared to have an O2 tank hanging around. But I understand your concerns about being far away from a hospital/ER.

Joanne: Good to hear Caitlyn is doing better! She sounds so funny!! It sucks you can't seem to shake what you have and it keeps coming back. Take care of yourself, sleep enough and take your vitamins!!! WTG on B&G WITH PLANKS! You are going to be walking funny tomorrow!! ... Your Thanksgiving plans sound like a ton of fun! family time is what counts, right? Hope eveyrone is feeling well ... I can not believe it's getting so close. We're having a house full of family for a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I am excited, because last year I had to work, and we didnt have anything. But the work kind of overwhelms me when I think about it..... They did say the Flu Mist is VERY safe. They said it was FINE to get it even though I work with immunocompromised patients. If they let us get it , working with sick cancer patients, then I do believe it's ok. But I still feel like i was "poisoned". It's a weird feeling I can't shake.

Hottie: I failed on a bunch of the tricep work today too. It seemed I failed because my muscles were seriously tuckered out from the stuff I had just did! If I had done those specific exercises alone/by them selves, without priory fatigue, I think I could have done the weight. but I guess failure is ok for these workouts! Fish sounds like a good choice tonight! ... I'm doing good on my eating today (I usually do on Mondays after eating like a fool for most of the weekend). I made a new cheesey macaroni think in the skillet for supper, it was really good! ANd had a HUGE salad! I've also taken to mixing pureed pumpkin in my nonfat greek yogurt, which I had pre/post workout this afternoon! Yum!... Experiment on !!! Is this the one you were working on over the weekend/?

Have a good evening!!!

Oh man, I needed to shove some food down my throat or I was going to faint! Glad I did it before though.

The experiment from the weekend is sort of on hold. I have to process a ton of numbers and do some photoshop work but I'm waiting on another person in another lab to to do another kind of analysis. I expect semi good news...and then I'll try to reproduce it again but probably after T-day. I did something else today and I will find out if I was able to enrich something tomorrow. If I did...then I can move forward with something else. But it's a big if. I swear, 90% of my time is troubleshooting.

But...boss is gone to Japan starting tomorrow for a week! ::scoff:: so I'll probably do a ton of work he'll never see me do knowing my track record.

Joanne -- shove your body with Vit C and antioxidants! Beat that cold up!! Awesome that everything is normal.

Beth -- you know, if you keep on talking about sweets I'm going to have them FOR you. :)

Chris -- that pumpkin thing sounds really really yummy! That reminds me, I'm going to try and make some yogurt tonight before my tutoring student comes here. You know, she has this exam on Wednesday and I spent more time making practice exam questions for her than she'll be at my house! I'm so dumb (since I don't get paid for my prep work), but I really want her to do well.

Ok, I'm going to wrap it up here and start to get through traffic.
